Overseas? Perhaps, if they hacked the caller id, or routed through Virginia. because the number appears to be from Virginia.
If the called id was correct, the call was not from overseas.

They've called me a bunch of times, from various numbers and companies, trying to "fix" my computer.
One time I played along long enough to have them take me to a site and ask me to download remote control software so they could take over my computer to "fix" it! What idiots!
They seem to have Indian accents.
Today one gentleman who identified himself as "Mark Wilson" ended up calling me an "a**-h@le". Another man who identified himself as "Alex Wilson" (is everyone there named Wilson?) told me he'd fire Mark.
Today they had me look at my event viewer, open the Administrative Events Custom View, and claimed since I could not delete events, my computer was "infected".
I explained you cannot delete events from a view and told them I just cleared an event from one of the logs, so he said I didn't need their help and hung up.
I asked since I don't pay them for a service why they were "helping me", and they said "it's not about money!"
Similar calls have come from Florida.

They are calling from overseas. U.S. laws do not apply there.

Call from this number about 1 hour ago. Wife is not computer literate and could not understand his insistence that something was wrong with my computer. He had strong foreign accent. The same kind of call came yesterday from 708 112 5668. That's Illinois, Cicero etc.

I received a call from this number and i am pretty sure it had nothing to do with computers. I couldn't understand him because he didn't speak english very well, but he asked me my name, age, where i went to school, and if I had ever heard of, well, i couldn't understand him, but i didn't answer anything but my first name and age. If he calls again I will tell him that if he calls this number again then i will call the police.

Very rude Asian sounding man answered. When I told him my number was on the do not call list and not to call me he became very defiant and told me he will call again. The name of the company he said was Virginia Computer Technical something - didn't catch the rest.

Got the same call from the number 757-152-2390. Woman didn't speak English very well. Said basically the same as the others are reporting. Works for Microsoft fraud department and needs to fix my computer from a virus detected. Told her the computer was not being used and that I was busy. Said she'd call back and that she would help me clean up my computer. Sort of rude. Looked up number and found out it's a scam. I'll report the number to the FCC also, we're on the do not call list.

Got one from this number...looked strange and had no name so I opened and closed it, as with all junk calls.

PC HELP Bull Crap
This caller and I got into a shouting match because after he announced himself as being Peter Parker I told him he was full of crap. I continued to harass him worse than he was trying to hack my computer. I would not let him get a word in edge wise. I made him mad by calling him Ahamad Afucker and I provoked him to come visit me face to face. If I find this person I will mutilate him and make him choke on his own blood/vomit. Then I will be able to find his roots and do the same to all of his co-workers, employer, and his family. This is not a empty threat, this is a provocation and a straight fact.

Thius call just came in. The English is so broken that I could not begin to understand what he was saying. I asked where he got this number and he said "maam, maam". I said "I am turning you in to the FCC. Do NOT call this number again", and I proceeded to do just that. Everyone, please be a pain in the butt for the FCC until we can get this insanity stopped. I am turning in at least two of these types of calls a day!!! So much for the DO NOT CALL LIST.

I got a call from them today and was told something about my computer. I couldn't understand him because of the heavy Indian accent. I told him I didn't have a computer and than hung up. I am also on the DO NOT CALL list and I guess that was just a joke.

Another new # today. These people must be rich to have so many #'s. Guess they get their money scamming others. Put it to good use!

Totally a scam call. Said we had a porb with our computer. Spoke heavy Indian accent. I asked where they were calling from and was told Las Vegas Nevada. I asked them what the capital of Nevada was and was told California. I pressed for some answers and was told they were calling from "your mothers p**sy". Plan on contacting the FCC Monday.

Unknown caller; no one replied after I said "Hello" twice. I knew the line was still open. I asked the caller to take me off their call list. I am on the "do not call list," but that doesn't seem to make a difference. It's very annoying.

Same thing happened today as the other post. Man said he was from MicroSoft and that I had problems with my computer. I told him my computer was none of his business and hung up. A definite scam

This number is most likely either Skype or spoofed. The call I got was a man claiming to be from HelpTech247, representing Microsoft. He said he was calling to assist me because they had 'detected' a virus on my computer. I asked a few questions because I wasn't comfortable with the idea of tech support calling without us contacting them first. He got very upset & said if I didn't use his help now, I would be responsible for my computer ceasing to operate. So I played along for a while. He promised that it would all be done offline so nobody would have access to my computer. He asked me to open the event viewer & see how many 'red circles' I had. When I told him, he said he was surprised my computer was functioning at all & asked me to open Run again & type in ammyy.com & hit Enter. I reminded him that this was all supposed to be offline & he said it was still offline - that ammyy.com just opened a file in Windows so he could tell me how to clear the 'hundreds of viruses' that were on my computer. I stalled him by asking questions while I googled ammyy.com & found out it was a website for downloading remote desktop sharing software & found several websites reporting scams using it in just the way he was trying with me. At that point I told him that I was unable to continue at the moment & would call him back when I had time. I got the following info (mostly fake, I'm sure): his name was Patrick Sanders, tech ID 1375, working for helptech247 & his supervisor was Eric Dawson, callback number 1-800-935-0714, which is the number listed on helptech247.com. After I hung up I called the 800 # and asked for Patrick Sanders & was told he just left for the day so I asked for Eric Dawson & was transferred to the same person I had been talking to a few minutes before so I hung up. I believe helptech247.com is involved in this scam so beware.
