Amber Knight did not indicate the name of the person she was trying to reach, the name of her company, etc

If they/she was a legitimate collections agency they would indicated the name of the person they wanted to reach, not the cloak and dagger messages they leave on your answering Machine.

I keep getting the same message the number has changed, its 757-296-0106. The name is Amber Knight.

This is from a collection agency.

A person called the administrator's office in my building asking for me. I have never given out that phone number as contact information. They knew my full name, and asked the person taking the call to have me call "Carolyn Landers" back at 757-204-6208. That is the only information they left and refused to give more details. I don't plan on calling back since there is no reason anyone should try to contact me through another office in my building, instead of using my phone number.

Call my cell phone and house phone about the same crap. They don't know my name or what company they from. This is straight harassment!!!!!!!

I have people calling me, for a person with the same name, who used to live in my town, now they google the guy's name and my info comes up, and once you square it with one of these scum bags, they sell it to another, and it just goes on and on.  I not only get phone calls for this guy, I also receive his bills in the mail, to include his child support invoices, collection agencies, and even correspondence from the IRS.  However, its the phone calls that bother me the most, they call at all hours of the day and night.

I have found the answer to all these annoying calls, it's called the Call Blocker, and it works great. I was looking for the solution to these phone calls, for years, and this is the best solution I have found yet. I bought mine on ebay, and it works like a champ.

This person knew exactly what my name is, just began to call yesterday. Will not leave a message. I hung up on him.

Unknown Number is 757-296-0105. Name on message is Amber Knight trying to get me to call because "according to her notes, she is afraid I am unaware of a situation and I really need to call and make a statement on my behalf."

Im getting a call from "Amber Knight" at 13602001101 and she's telling me about these "preliminary documents" I really cant wait until my contract is up next month. These people have harassed me so long.

they keep leaving partial messages and keep calling all hours of nite...how do i remove them from my cell phone list..

they call all the time..i called them back...they was just rude and wouldnt shut up...they asked for joyce simms..i told them you have the wrong number..they just hang up ....IDIOTS!

I keep receiving messages from "Amber Knight" with threatening words such as "reviewing your file for action and know this is your account" to give the impression of pending disaster!  Previous calls were for my husband who has been deceased almost 5 years.  I pay the telephone co. for phone service for ME - not exploiters.  i consider it a privilege for someone to be able to contact me by means of my phone but if someone should try to intimidate me under false pretenses they better look out!  I have an impeccable credit record!

This message came from the same folks that have been calling me from this ALTERNATE NUMBER
757 296 0105 listed at the end. They've also called from the above number 757 204 6208. I blocked that number & they used the one here. I don't know them & refuse to call back,esp since I've seen same messages listed in complaints by other people.

I recently received a call from this company in regards to a debt that was already paid 2 years ago.  They've been calling me incessantly for the past 2 weeks and leaving me several voicemails a day.  I got really agitated and decided to pay off the amount, which was very small.  But now I try to call them back to dispute the amount because I found bank records that show I did indeed pay off that amount, and no one picks up the phone nor is there a voicemail box option available.  The numbers they provided me will ring about 10 times before automatically hanging up.  DO NOT PROVIDE THEM WITH ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION! please don't make the same mistake I did.

I received this call on my voice mail and it did sound important but I don't trust it . I never heard of her and she didn't leave a company or attorney office name. All the same as others have reported and making it sound like I may have trouble if I didn't call back. Same phone number. That is when I looked this up.

I am getting texts from this number 757.204.6163 and am getting verizon to block it.

I have received numerous calls previously for the person having my phone.  Now a year later these calls are beginning again.  I have not answered the phone call is my caller ID does not say who it is.  I did, however, finally have a message left from one of these calls with the same tactics of the other caller complaints:  You are not aware of the legal action which is pending if you do not call us back, etc

I received calls from David Wells, saying he is with his colleague or asst. Amber Knight. I searched for the names and I got several results, including this number. But remarkably, they used a different number to call me. It is 5714824734 and most recently, 4242709593.  This David wells  left a message saying they are calling regarding a matter that was in his desk and wanted to discuss it. they did not say the business name or what matter it is, but is an issue. They even threatened that if I do not return the call, they would take that response. hmm my number is already in the do not call list, but still scammers keep calling. how can this be stopped.

Also; a lot of the search databases have names of relatives and friends listed as "Family/associates" they will do searches on those people too, add their numbers to their automated call system and they will receive harassing calls to hoping someone will say, "John Doe? Thats my newphew!  He doesn't live here, he lives at xxxx address and his phone number is (xxx) xxx-xxxx. Now they have line on the person they are looking for.  They will harass anyone and know many will give info just to get them to stop calling.

This is what they are doing.  Lets say they have a collection debt for John Doe, but John Doe moves and they cannot find him.  The collection agency uses a service like deadbeatfinder.com (Fictitious name for example purposes only).  The service pulls up all John Doe's in the database and all previous address and phone numbers are listed.  Since there is 90 John Does in their database, they key in all phone numbers listed into their automated call system and it begins to call all the numbers and continues to harass the people who have working numbers until they either answer or call and are able to eliminate that phone number as being incorrect.  IF you answer a call from a company like this, when they ask you for your information, give them false information, i.e. names etc. and see if they continue with the "Important information" for that false name.  If they do, you know it is a scam.  Never give them any information.... when they are finished with you, they will sell your info to other like companies.  If they are legit, they can provide you specifics of the issue, your name, address, etc.  If they inform you they cannot give you that information until you verify their information is correct (This is how they phish) Tell them they can file in a case in court and you will wait for the subpena to be sent to your address.

I received a message from "Amber Knight" (canned message, not from a "live" person)   The message was rattled off so quickly, I had to take the number off my phone memory system  540-369 3052.  This is apparently a new number from those reported in other responses.  I called the number back, as they were asking for my son who has not lived here nor used my phone number for over 10 yers. Her msggase was that she needed to "confirm" some information so she could sned "preliminary documentation".  When I asked for "Amber Knight", I was told that she had gone home...mind you I called less that 2 minutes after the call came in.  When I asked questions regarding the purpose of the call, the female on the other end of the line got agitated, complained I was asking "too many" questions, and ultimately hung up on me...after telling me that my son could call until 8:00pm and speak to "Amber".  I told her that she had just informed me that "Amber" had gone home.  Never did get any information of any valuse from them.  We will not be calling them back.  If we receive another call, I will report it.  This is nothing short of hassassment.

The calls you're receiving are not fraudulent, they're 100% coming from debt collectors that are legitimately trying to collect a debt. They use an automated system, which is why the messages are so extremely vague, and why you receive them so often. (it would cost too much to pay someone to call everyone).

If you're being contacted by them wrongfully, just talk to them and let them know it's not you they're looking for, be civil about it. If they're contacting you on a cellphone through the auto-dialer, that's illegal.

Do some research online. I think your best bet is to just talk to them and tell them to stop calling.

I've gotten messages exactly like ALL of these. I never ever answer and have never spoken with them. Today it was "Monica Johnson" and she actually said " We spoke to you a while ago..." Really? Don't think so. The thing I find amusing is that pretty much every time they call, the message threatens that they will be moving forward with this "arbitrary matter."

Well it's been at least a year since I started getting these calls. I have all their numbers blocked so it doesn't bother me but I'd love to tell them "go ahead idiots move the F forward!" I mean, honestly, if they say that consistently but NEVER do it, don't they realize we know for a fact that they're full of it? Boy crying wolf...
