I believe if you're already a customer of a company then the Do Not Call Registry does not apply to them.

It is Cox...they are calling to see if you'd like to add services to your account.

I answered a phone call after my Caller ID listed it as coming from Cox Communication. Female stated she was calling about their bundle package. I already have Cox Cable TV and the internet service but not their phone service. She asked me if I lived on W----- Drive, which I do. Then she said,"let me pull up you account info". Then "bear with me while it comes up." Then she asked me for the last four of my SSN#. I said I dont give that out. Then she asked for my 4-digit pin number with COX. I couldnt remember the number, anyway, I told her I wasnt interested and hanged up. I smell a scam here. If you get such a call, dont give out any info and just hang up.

have received calls from this number weekly since adding cox cable/internet. caller hangs up as soon as i answer. called back, recording says "Cox Communication, enter the extention number you are looking for."

I have gotten calls almost daily between 5-9pm for the last week.  No messages.

got the same call.. cox offering phone service.  of course they call during dinner every time.

I have been recieving the same call on my cell but no one answers.

Receiving frequent calls from this number in the evening, but no one is there - and no message left when I let it go to voice mail.  When I call it back, it's a Cox voice mail, but no person available.

Received 2 calls from this number in the past 2 days. Both around 8 p.m. First time caller hung up after 1 or 2 rings. Last night call went to voicemail but no message was left.

Cox has called me 20 times and iv told them 3 times to take my number off their calling list. That was a month ago. They called me again last night. What can anyone do?

They've called almost every day for the last few weeks, sometimes multiple times a day.  They never leave a voicemail.

This really is Cox Communications calling. Thier auto-dialer will hang up if you have a ring back tone on your cell. It thinks that it got an answering machine. LoL...  Anyway, just retrun the call, press 3 to speak to someone and they will remove your number. Its the promo dept wanting to tell you about current special deals.

this number is Cox Communication. Its a automated dialer that when it gets cell phone numbers , its not programed to work with cell phones so it hangs up. I called it back and talked to a guy that told me this and offered me home phone service. he said he would take my cell number off the call list.

Just missed a call from the number. I called it back and recieved the busy signal. No message so guess it wasn't important. Will make sure I pick up next time to tell them to take me off their call list or else....

I recieved a call from this number, 757-389-5579, and it was a gentleman from Cox's Outbound Promotions team. He offered me free upgrades for movies, sports & info, and a "value tier" for 6 months, basically channels 200-267. I accepted and then immediately called Cox's local office to verify. Everything checked out. Hope this helps everyone, cause i just got a bunch of channels for free.

Told him i just got a call.
He asked for my name.
Gave him my name.
He looked it up and said "Looks like we were calling to see if you were interested in Cox Home Telephone"
I said "No thanks."
He said "Have a nice evening"

got two calls in the past two nights both at 8pm.  just goes straight to voicemail and no message.  Can we file a suit against Cox for this?

I have received call's from this number starting at noon and go all the way through 8:30. Like the other victim's there isn't a message left on my vmail. Does anybody know the purpose of these calls? It's making me crazy!!!!!!

As a customer of Cox, if I don't stop receiving these calls, I will move my business to another carrier.  The caller is a rude annoyance.

this is a legitimate number for the cox call center in chesapeake. it *does* ask if you know the extension you're trying to reach; not 2 seconds later, it asks if you'd like to hold for the next available representative. if you select that option, you get to speak to someone who *actually* works for cox about what cox was *actually* calling you about.

I receive at least 4 calls a day from this number. When I finally did answer to tell them to quit calling there was a recording telling me they had a very important call for me ... not that important if they have a recording calling me!!!  I hung up and then called number back and it was indeed Cox communications RECORDING.  How the heck do you get them leave you alone?????  I have all my numbers on the Do Not Call list

this number calls me at least 3 times a day. im getting really tired of it. tonight they went too far. called every hour the last 5 hours. the number they were calling was my cell phone and i was at work. i keep it for important calls since my son is at a sitters. every time the phone went off i would be worried it was my sitter. but no, just some annoying sales person!?!?!

After reading all of your posts I realize its Cox. I just signed up yesterday.

Who ever is calling needs to stop calling. If I answer my phone don't hang up on me. And when I call back the number what does the station number mean.

They called several times at all hours; I called back to find that it is COX.  I left a message never to call again and that was disregarded.  Then I called the number associated to my COX bill to complain.  I asked if COX was now out sourced, and of course, they are.  She put a note to have the calls stopped which might take up to 30 days.  I said that was rediculous and that it was harassing and needed to stop ASAP.  And if it doesn't, you can place a formal complaint with your local police.
