My story is the same as Cathy's. Similar texts from BofA or referencing Bank of America in some way, saying to call. Depending on your cell phone company, you can forward them the phone # and email addresses for them to keep track of the spam and in some cases block them from calling/texting again. Of course, if they call from a different number you go through the same thing again.
I have Sprint. You can text to 7726 the number they're telling you to call. You can also text to 9999 the word "SPAM" and the referenced phone number and separately the email address, for example SPAM 757-447-9266 or SPAM text@info.com.
The sad thing is that these pfishing texts and emails must be working on some poor folks foolish enough to call the numbers and give them personal information. If they were getting no success, they might actually stop sending them

Rec'd a text today from text@info.com saying "Subject: BankOfAmerica. Please contact: (757)447-9266."
Rec'd a text on Sept. 10 from new499@boa41.org saying "Hello.Call (561)2357256. Attention Required. Thank you."
Rec'd a text on Sept. 9 from smsnotice@b-ofamerica.com saying "B of A. Please contact 16783847533."
Rec'd a text on Sept. 7 from tele@bof-america.com saying "B Of A. Call 6783847533."
Text on Sept. 7 was the first one I ever rec'd. And funny thing about that, I received while I was at Bank of America. It wasn't from them. None of them are.

Bank og America to verify name an account number and pass word/code

Received same texts, twice. We did not call back, but found this information. We are not even BOA customers. And there are iPhone applications that allow you to text/call and put in other people's numbers to show up on caller ID. Just a waste of everyone's time.

Nobody "is running a scam out of this shop after hours and on weekends". Your caller is spoofing his number on your CallerID https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caller_ID_spoofing and should be treated as hostile.

I also got a text message at 7:31 p.m. today from "textmessage@bofa.org" with Please Contact 757 447 9266 and I called it, it's a computer/vocaloid message asking you to enter your card number. The number is apparently for "Business listing for A O J P Locksmith Service in Virginia Beach, VA. 985 Chimney Hill Shopping Ctr. (757) 447-9266" so I wonder who is running a scam out of this shop after hours and on weekends?
