Accelerated troll, why, if you are such a great company, after you can't collect a debt because it never existed and we proved it, did you lie to another debt collector and sell them a fake debt so now they are harassing us over the same fake debt? >Huh? Huh? Huh?  You guys are GREAT~ GREAT FUN~~~~

Oh, really, Accelerated Troll?  If you are so good, why did you harass us about a non-existent debt and when we sent you a validation letter, you could not validate the debt? Then you sold the non-existent debt to Dynamic Recovery Solutions, the poor schmucks who are also bottom feeders like you, to collect the non-existent debt for YOU!  That is so funny!

Debt Collector
This is so funny. Accelerated Financial Solutions, a bottom feeder debt collector, who tried to collect a debt that we did not owe and harassed us until we sent the validation letter and never heard another word, actually HIRED another bottom feeder debt collector, Dynamic Recovery Solutions, to try and collect the same non-existent debt.  What a bunch of losers!!!!   DON"T DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!

They called several members of my family and me.  They talked to two of my family members and discussed the debt with them.  My husband called (they did not know that he was really my husband) and they discussed all my personal matters with him.  I am furious that anyone can call and they discuss things with them.  I want to know what action I can pursue against this company for releasing my personal information!

I got a call from your company today and I had no idea who you were so I Googled to see.....like others on here If people call nosing around about personal financial information ...we have a right to question everything and everybody. I didn't speak to anyone so I have no idea what this is about. And why does it surprise you that people hate bill collectors...what new? People are broke .

I called the number and Mike wells indicated my acct number eneded in Tx( I live in Texas), I should have been served for a 3 day trial,my wages could be garnished, leins could be placed on homestead, etc. He stated they conducted an assett/liability check and I have money.( the truth is I'm upside down 10,000 on my house, 3,000 on both cars and I just had surgery w broken leg).I called the courthouse and no such judgment or suit was placed against me. According to the Texas finance code chapter 392 its a misdemeaner offense for each of his threats!!

I have received several calls from someone named Vaneesa who supposedly works for your company.   She asked for someone I don't know who does not share this phone number.  My number is a Comcast number and my belief is that AFS obtained this number from a marketing list or perhaps my number was previously assigned to the person they were trying to reach.  In any event, Vaneesa never mentions the company's name (the only reason I know it was AFS is that I called and waited to get voicemail).  She also never explains what the so-called urgent matter is in regards to.  If this were a truly legal matter, you would contact the person directly by mail, not by harassing phone calls.  If the person you were trying to call were truly being threatened with a law suit, you would follow proper legal channels to pursue a law suit.    Your company is preying on ignorant people who you can bully into paying for a debt that they don't owe.  I've experienced this personally when I investigated payday loans a few years ago.  I never took out a loan, but my information was compromised, and fraudulent scammers called me repeatedly claiming I owed money that I didn't owe and that I was being sued.  I never received any documentation and I know that these scam calls were an attempt to obtain financial information from me to basically steal from me.  This is a fraudulent practice, and frankly, it is ILLEGAL to harass someone, even if you are a debt collector, after you have been asked to stop calling.  I had to change my number at one point because the harassment was so bad.  I reported your company to the Federal Trade Commission and plan to report you to the FBI.  This kind of disgusting harassment and fraudulence must be put to a stop!

Your company is a lowlife company that preys on peoples unfortunate events in their lives. You buy debt for 10 cents on the dollar and think you will make a fortune on others misery, how can you jusitfy your comments when you lie to people and threaten to sue them when you know good and well you are violating federal law?  ALL companies like yours are run by egotistical #$holes who can't make it or work at a real job somewhere. How can you lay down at night and sleep after breaking so many laws and really say that what you are doing is LEGAL? Believe me if I could sue you guys I would many times over for the people that have been cast into a down trodden economy. Get real jobs and stop stealing money.

We have no contact with her, as far as we know she is in a completly different state even. We have told who ever keeps calling countless times bet yet at 8:01 in the morning they call again. Its kind of frustrating.

Kelly called my house phone, and my mobile phone yesterday and left a message demanding that I call back immediately about a claim that she was filing, and that she wanted a statement. Where I come from, you give a statement in writing or in person, not over the phone. So I called back, and they said my file number was for a guy that I didnt know. She said she would take my name & number off the computer records. WEIRDOS!

Hi Bill,

I realize your post is a few years old but I am at my wit's end with not only Accelerated Solutions but also some other junk debt collectors. Not being particularly  in tune to consumer's rights, I was an ideal target for them.

Over the past ten years I had a set of very unfortunate circumstances and accrued some minor debt (my student loans were the only major debt I had). Recently, when the economy took a nose dive my industry (nonprofit work) was wiped out. To ride the storm, I went to grad school to pursue another field.

In the process of all of these life decisions, I went to work on the debt issue. When I began paying off any current debt, I began to receive harassing phone calls. Many came from Accelerated. They called my elderly and sick parents, they threatened to sue me, they acted like the "papers" were already being served. At this point, I did not know about any of my rights or the statute of limitations. (this debt was eight years old and in my state the limitation is up at 6 years)

I avoided them for a while, but when they began harassing me in January and calling my parents, they then  called me while on the road traveling for school. They threatened a suit. They said to settle (the debt was originally around 400.00, they were asking for over a thousand, but then came down to 600.00) I said all I can give you is 300.00 and I have to take that out of my student aid. They agreed to this.

When I returned home and was in a settled place, I ordered my credit report. So many random calls were coming in and I have not accrued debt in over seven years so i wanted to see what was going on. It was then I realized that not ONE of these agencies which were calling me were calling about debt on my report. I called Accelerated and told them that I would not pay anymore to them and they had violated many of my consumer rights by harassing me into giving them a payment out of my student aid because they threatened me with a lawsuit that they could not pursue under the Statute of Limitations.

The person at Acclerated told me that  BECAUSE I HAD MADE A PAYMENT to them I Had revoked the Statute of Limitations. When I said that is because you broke many fair debt collection practices and threatened me with a lawsuit. She began yelling VOCIFEROUSLY at me and said I had not recorded their calls and they were now going to disregard my 300 payment and go after me for 2000.00.

I told her I was reporting her to the FTC and to the AG. She still yelled and said I had no proof that they had threatened a lawsuit. It was then she sarcastically said, "Did you record my calls?"

I called the FTC and the representative referred me to an opinion letter in which it states that a payment can not revoke the statute of limitations. (see the opinion letter on FTC website by Amason)
She advised I mail that letter to this company.

I told her this was not my only circumstance. That in my attempt to clean up credit and do everything I can to survive this economy, I had somehow triggered junk debt collectors to call me non-stop about debt from ten years ago. When I confront any of these collectors, they go absolutely crazy and begin yelling. So much that I can't even ask them to stop calling me and tell them I will report them, or get a word in to ask for their mailing address so I can send a letter to cease.

Also, I have been monitoring my credit and have had  a hard inquiry from a collection agency in LA, Full Spectrum Litigation, that lists NO debt on my report, no account or anything in relation to this hard inquiry. Because they are listed as a debt collector on my report I called them to see what  account this was in connection with. ( I currently have paid off most debt on my report, except student loans). The number provided goes to an anonymous voicemail box, no company name, nothing. I left repeated messages informing them of their obligation to communicate what this matter was about that was posted on my report. No response. When I call now the mailbox is full.

HOW DO WE STOP THESE PEOPLE? I have called the FTC and the AGs associated with the state these agencies are in, but they keep coming out of the woodwork and it is unbelievable that consumers can experience this. From all of the complaints on the web, it seems that reporting to the AG does nothing.

I did not know that handling debt and doing the best thing you can would trigger this response from predators. I am receiving calls daily from at least three different junk collectors.

Also, I have no intention of paying Accelerated anymore money. I am sending them the opinion letter from the FTC, reporting them to the AG and FTC, but I am a full time grad student and can not afford an attorney to dispute them. Online there are varying opinions and some say that by paying them the 300.00 in January I revoked the statute of limitations. What are your thoughts?

I will record all calls from them going forward, and I and going to report them to anyone and everyone that will listen. They had me crying on the phone because I had no money to pay them and then threatened and harassed me and now are threatening me more.

HELP. Please.

There needs to be a class action lawsuit against Accelerated and other agencies like them.
Any advice is much appreciated

Your company should know that it IS illegal to call family members and harass them, too.  If you are going to post on websites 'bragging' about your company, make sure you have your facts right.

I completely agree, they are trying to trick you in to paying a debt you have already paid off or one that was written off. Google free lawyer help or consumer protection. This group and the others back off if you speak lawyer talk to them. The limitations set by your state are there to protect you from this, here in WA the limit is 4 years if I remember correctly.

What you do might be legal, but it is far from ethical. I, along with many of my family members, have been continuously harassed despite the fact that I am not the person your company is looking for. I have had to call repeatedly to ask for several numbers to be removed from your file, however, the family members of mine keep getting called. When I got angry about this, Terri, the "supervisor" HUNG UP ON ME. And when I called back to complain about that, she hung up on me again. Nice and professional. And now I'm getting calls from a law office and the person your company is looking for lives hundreds of miles from me. I sure wish your company could leave me and my family alone and get your business straightened out with the correct person. This is terribly annoying. I am now looking to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General of Virginia.

TO ALL OF YOU WHO ARE HARRASSED BY "ACCELERATED FINANCIAL SOLUTIONS: If everyone who is harrassed, or given phony names, inadequate info when they call, etc., PLEASE file a complaint with the FTC. This is the foremost way that you are able to fight back. When enough complaints are received, the FTC and local law enforcement agency conduct a joint investigation to see what laws, federal and/or local, are being violated.
When the company begins getting letters from the FTC, it puts the fear of God into them as it's very easy for them to be put out of business.
Also, if youy are able to document the dates, time, and what is said when these calls are made, it may be the basis for a SUIT AGAINST THEM, YES, A SUIT AGAINST THEM.
A recent case,ENCORE CAPITOL GROUP v. US DEPT OF JUSTICE, was settled with a permanent injunction being issued AGAINST THE COLLECTION AGENCY, et al.
I could go on and on but all I ask you to do is PLEASE FILE YOUR COMPLAINTS with the FTC.
.
If enough harrassment is involved you may want to contact an attorney and inquire about the feasability of suing the collection agency.
I hope this has een of help to you and wish you success in your endeavors.

Well I am not the one who owes a debt nor is it any of my business of what debt my relatives owe.  I dont appreciate calls to my WORK cell phone while I am at my JOB working to pay my own bills.
I am on a do not call list, and would greatly appreciate if you keep your practices of contacting the ones who owe you them alone, isn't it a confidential breech to call someone and leaving messages with every family member, because as soon as I hung up phone I called my sister who is the one you are looking for and you had already called, my father, my neice, my brother, my sister in law all within a matter of a few minutes!

Your company is a third party collection agency that collects on debt that it purchases from other creditors.  It is legal as long as the debt that you are trying to collect has not already been settled on.  One of my creditors agreed on a settlement for a percentage of the debt I owed them and I even made sure I got the agreement in writing from them.  Once they received my final payment, instead of sending me a letter confirming that debt was satisfied, they sold the forgiven balance to your company and now your company it trying to collect on that amount.  NOW THAT IS ILLEGAL!!!  And so are the practices in which some of your collection agents work!!!  You cannot call and threaten or harass.  For one of your agents to SAY that your company is going to take my home, car, or put me in jail IS ILLEGAL!!!  They cannot do any of those things and according to the FDCPA, they cannot even threaten it.  So, it amazes me at the lengths that you people as collectors will go to in order to make a commission!
