I got a call from the same number yesterday and the guy had a very heavy accent which I could barely understand what he was saying.  He left a voice message on my cell phone and he left my entire name and social security number!  He claimed he was from American Law Offices but I'm not for sure because of his accent.  Unfortunately I erased the voicemail but I'm sure he'll call me again today.  I don't think he's a real lawyer because lawyers don't call people and demand payment.  They have to submit their statement in writing, and I think it's illegal to say someone's social security number on someone's voicemail.

Just wanted to let you know that you're not alone.  I am researching legal representation if he continues to harrass me like this.

This man called my cell phone yesterday twice saying he was from American Law Office or something like that; I couldn't understand him due to his heavy accent.  He proceeded to leave my entire social security number on my VOICEMAIL, which I believe is illegal.  He then said that he's been trying to get ahold of me for a while and that there will be legal consequences if I don't respond.  I didn't understand his name, either, due to his accent.  He sounds like he's from Africa or somewhere out east.

Aren't they supposed to send you something in writing before they harrass you?

This is the second round of calls I am receiving from heavily accidented males with American names.  This time he stated his name was Adam White and then in another call Daniel White (before it was Steven Buttler and Jason Carter).  He stated there was a very serious legal matter against my social and left my full social on both my work and cell numbers.  

The last group of guys like this were out of Brooklyn, NY...I went through all the research ultimately contacted the District Attorney's office who told me to call the FBI.  These guys get worse and worse, they will call you families, and threaten your jobs...they told my employer I had committed fraud against the company and were sending their attorneys out to serve me with papers (Shocker...they never showed up!)...Ironic thing is when the called my employer in an attempt to get me fired they left their return call number as my best friend's number.  So obviously they were utlizing my records to make me believe they were in the neighborhood.  This is a total nightmare and these guys need to be stopped.  I feel sorry for the people out there that fall for this bs and are out money to losers like this!

I received my first call on 04/26/2010 his name is Michael Fuller.  He stated that I had committed fraud against one of those Pay Day Loans Associations.  He told me that they had debited $300.00 to my account in 2009-2010.  I called my bank and got them on board.   That evening they called me back and called me a mother f&&&&&.   Today they called again the person name was Ronnie Cooper.   I called the FTC and the FBI and reported the number.

They have called my cell number numerous times.  They are all from a male caller with a heavy accent. I've done a little research and I believe they're based out of the country but the phones are like pre-paid phones from the US. They have my first and last name and only the last 4 of my social. But when he asked to verify it I told him I'm not verifying anything and to send whatever and whoever they wanted. They don't like it if you are angry right back at them.  Also, if they are from the mid-east they treat women as second class citizens. So they'll tend to be more irate towards females. This a scam.  Hard to track them though.  The other number they had called me from was 323-345-4286 (Hudson Law Firm) (Chris Matthew). The call back number that was left from the last call was 760-278-3037 (Rex White).

Exact same thing.  Funny thing is that the company name, person's name and phone numbers keep changing, but the heavy accents are still the same.  Have reported them before - just don't know how to get them to keep from harassing me.  This time threatened to contact my work and references.

The caller left no message.

My wife received a vaoice mail from this company claiming to be a Law Firm with a lawyer named Daniel Duran.  A man named Greg White answered the phone.  The law firm name was American Legal Service and would not give me a Bar number. when i asked him to stop calling my wife and let them know I know who the are, he told me to Suck his D**k and shut my mouth.

People. Make sure you ask questions? Name of company, license number etc. Drill their behinds!

I told them I had an attorney and gave them his name and number. Funny thing is I actually gave them my states attorney general information. If they actually called I'm sure they were surprised. They have not called back since.

nothing can be done because they are not really calling from the numbers that appear on the ID. they are using a software that allows them to key in any number they want to show up on the caller id. So no one can exactly find out where they are.

My only concern is, if all of us have been getting calls from these people and they have been reported, why is nothing getting done and people continue to get scammed!  They have called me numerous times and said all the same things.  What can we to to stop this!

The same. Indian guy claiming to be a law firm "transferred" me when I refused to cooperate until he told me who was trying to sue me and why. The next guy starts recite pieces of my personal info to me and became enraged when I still kept askin the same question. In fact, so much that my nephew could here him from across the room. So I told the dude "F" him and hung up. They called back a few minutes later saying they were continuing the legal process and sending the fees and information to ur employer and I told him all he had to do was answer my question so he repeated himself and hung up before I could say bye.

Yep,, I just got a call from this same number.  The funniest thing is:  I am a Managing Paralegal in a law office!  These people are nothing but scammers.  I will promptly be filing a complaint with the FL Bar and when they get involved, they will investigate this trash for unauthorized practice of law.

I too have had calls from the phone # 760 278 3037. The guys speaks pakistani/indianish and has claimed to be a lawfirm appointed by the US police department and he has all of my info too, like SSN# home address all of it!dont know what its for though he wont give any inforamation like mail confirmation of the vaidity of these "charges" I am pretty sure it a scam!! Just swear at him alot and hang up a few times it seem s to do the trick ;)

Indian guy has been calling repeatedly. Claiming that I owe Payday Loans and is suing me. What a lie, i have never taken a loan or advanced money. He has all my information address & SSN. I asked for his state license number and he hung up. He is very rude and does not wanna give any info to me. How am i supposed to find out what the calls about if he act like an A**! Its bs! Have seen other ppl posting up complaints about the same thing. What more can I do?

I just got a call from this number.  I get calls every day.  Yesterday was the worst from 800-217-7084.  The same guy called me from numbers 666-098-1496 and 59150997040.  The second number has more numbers than normal, so if it's is from another country, +591 is Bolivia.

I received a call today from 760-278-3037, they are a fraudulence unit claiming to be a law firm.  The man that calls has an Indian accent, this person has called me from the past with different numbers.  He claimed that I had owed a bunch of money and that I needed an attorney.  Anyhow, I filed a police report against those numbers including the one for today.

If they tried to scam you into owing money please double check everything and do not give out any personal information.

No one needs an attorney for owing money, a true collection agency will send out a notice letter first before anything.

CALLED ME REPEATEDLY FOR THE LAST MONTH ABOUT 10- 15 TIMES A DAY.   WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE AND HOW CAN I GET RID OF THEM?  I'M GOING TO CALL THE FBI.

This number has called work and my personal cell 15-20 times within one hour. They were told repeated times not to call back and continued to call. They sound like they are a call center from India. They are very abusive.
