I receive a call today from PC Trackers, and they said that my computer has a lot
of virues and that they can see this from my IP address, and wanted me to go
on my coputer to fix this. I told her "Joe Adam" which she told me her name, that
I neede to do more research, so she gave me a website pc trackers, and phone
# 1-760-284-0006. Well I did my research "big scam".

By the way you cannot call the number back. Definitely not smart to use there advice as someone else said in earlier thread. This gives them access to the entire network for your private data.

Prank Call
I have gotten several over the last year diff numbers diff names. Funny thing is when I ask which computer they say doesn`t matter just go to the nearest one! Hmm if my computer is sending out errors and a"windows or microsoft representative" is calling why do they not identify themselves immediately? I have to ask several times. They actually call me stupid when there instructions don`t work because I am not gulible enough to input the data they instruct. If it is truly "Microsoft or Windows" then they would have to identify the computer with the registration information they have, such as registration key for my software. Hello please I am not an idiot nor am I stupid. The most recent call hung up as soon as I answered, what does that tell you? They call so much they recognize my voice. Stupid callers.

I got the phone call saying my computer was full of error messages and would probably crash soon.  The call was from Ashley Jones with a very heavy foreign accent.  I said I would call her back but she said "no" and gave me her e-mail address instead.   It made me suspicious enough to check further.

Just got the call from Dell, told me there was something wrong with my computer and I knew it was fine. Asked them if there was a number I could call them back at, and they hung up on me.

I get this call about every two weeks or so! Its total bogus and a scam and anyone that thinks otherwise is not living in the real world.

Pure SCAM. Why, here's one of the stinking scammers trying to trick people on the web because sites like this are making it tough to trick them on the phone.

FAIL. It's back to the boiler room with you now!

I got the same call as Jimmy re: an abundance of of error messages except the phone number I was given is 661-453-1611 in California.  I asked why they didn't have an 800 number since they were a "service" company and was told their customer service department had an 800 number, but not the tech department.  I was unable to obtain an 800 number.  This call came from India, but involved persons with very American names.  When I told them I couldn't afford $159.99, they were willing to cut the price to $59.99.  I wonder about this business practice unless $59.99 is better than nothing!

So you got tech support from a reindeer with a bioluminescent mutation alleged to possess the power of flight? Maybe not, but I would believe in that mythical creature before I believe that your computer's performance was magically enhanced by a charlatan who just happened to call you one day.

I need a brake? That can't be. I replaced my own vehicle brake pads almost two years ago. Pretty easy job, and I found a good sale price and rebate offer on a nice set of Wagners besides.

In my lifetime I've owned maybe eighteen personal computers. I have one which I'd bet is older than you. I've maintained, upgraded, and serviced them all myself. I keep three in my current stable. Though I rarely scan for malware, none of them have ever known what a virus feels like. I have no spam filter locally or at my ISP, yet I doubt I get more than thirty spam mails in a year.

How can this be? When online I "drive defensively" and value my system security ahead of my personal goals. Nobody sets cookies or gets my sensitive data without a very good reason. I avoid personal data parasites such as Facebook and Google. I *certainly* do nothing so stupid as to take technical advice from some script-reading nitwit in a South Asian call center who tries to tell me that Microsoft is making house calls because I've been somehow careless.

You are correct that the fingers of my hand are all slightly different. Guess which one I have pointed upward for you, "dude".

Yes, you will very much "like the services" if you're on the scammer's side of the phone line, getting paid to "repair" a nonexistent problem and stealing private information for resale to your criminal friends. Those who are called and swindled don't think it's so hot.

Lady said she was from Dell Techno Services.  I said I don't have a Dell computer and was told they are a different company.  Probably trying to trick people into thinking they are Dell and a trustworthy source but they aren't.  You can clearly hear at least 10 other people in the background spewing the same garbage she was about how they were receiving errors from computers.

When I asked if she could be more specific in what type of errors she said she could show me but couldn't tell me.  I would have to download a TeamViewer type program so she could show me.  She said she wasn't trying to sell anything but if you go to their website it will show that they are trying to sell some sort of PC protection stuff for like $160 per year.

Couldn't get any specifics out of them, kept being very vague.
