Same here! But I was sooooo stupid, I actually gave them my credit card and my home address. Few months later,  I asked for a refund, they told me to fill up a form and mail it to them, which I did. But I got no reply from them whatsoever..... Its been almost a year now after I mailed them those refund request forms, I called them almost every week but it would always transfer my calls to their voice mail. I also emailed them, but of course no response from them either.  I know many people are smart and probably wont get themselves in situations like this. But I just want to post this to warn people about this.....
Or can anyone give me any advice regarding this issue?
Thankyou!!!

i also received a call from phone # 888-390-6051. They already had my debit card #. The security on my computer was down for a week because i could not afford to renew the security subscription. My computer was hacked and they somehow got access to my card. The first woman on the phone was nice and spoke slowly and clear. Then this OTHER woman came on and talked REAL fast with a southern drawl that was hard to understand. i hung up but they managed to get 29.95 out of my account, (i only had 35.00 in the account and have since gotten a new account). These people are ruthless and cruel. Frankly, I don't know how they sleep at night.

I guarantee you that this is a scam. I was taken in by this and have been trying to get a refund for half a year. First sign of reason to be suspicious, they require you to submit a claim for refund within 7 days of buying their service (read the fine print) though they don't mention it when doing the sales pitch. This is a sign that everyone who calls is in on the scam, they are all thieves. My car was underpriced and a car that should have received a lot of attention, 9 year old sports car with very low miles in perfect shape. I checked in after a month and couldn't even find my own car listed. after 3 months i had not received a single car even though they told me on the phone that there were several people interested who were going through the application for a loan process. So once i qualified for a refund i followed all of the instructions, sent them by registered mail and waited. months went by, i called and was told "we sent you a check last month" which i never received. They promised to send another check which also never arrived. I'm afraid I've learned a costly lesson, don't pay to learn this on your own. If you have any doubts just try to get someone on the phone or to return a call. In short, they are thieves. Charges to the card were placed by Florida Promotions.

I just got a call from them about 15 minutes ago. He was calling from California!!  Same story as the stories above.
It does say on the Auto Traders web site that there are scammers try, and to be careful. My antena was up and I figured this was a scam.
I basically told the person, I would not pay $500.00 to place an ad with them.  Everyone has to be careful..
thanks

so how does that hurt the seller exactly? i mean even a bank makes it's money from the interest on loans, that's a fact. how is that a risk for the seller? that has nothing to do with you?

"They have found a number of buyers who are very interested..."

I told this last guy to take a hike

Why couldn't they take a cheque from me when the car is sold?
No it has to be in advance!!!

Scammers unfortunately are a new plague

Scam from Allied Auto Group, previous number reported by others is 760-718-3271. She never gave her name, but same offer to "put me in contact with several pre-approved clients who wish to remain confidential". It would only cost me $500 to obtain the contacts by email after charging the fee to my credit card. I received phone calls last year from similar scam who only wanted $29.95. Getting more expensive to scam innocent people, I guess.

yeah, the scammers are persistent. The first call I recieved was from 925-418-3224 he spewwed his speil and I said this is a bad time can I call you back in 1 hour,...sure call this number: 1-888-390-6051 so an hour goes by and he calls back from a different number: 705-514-3470 I did not pick it up. I then called the 888 number and I get a receptionist from Allied Auto Group, ask for Robert Blackwolf [nice handle] "yes sir I am putting you through",....he answers and I request for him to send me the relevant info to my e-mail,....now the circular aurgument goes like this; we send you the info after you "register with us" meaning give my CC# and "we are totally legit" more like full of s**t. $499 up front then their "client" comes out to look at my bike and take it to a mechanic if need be to validate the quality of my motorcycle { I would never let my bike out of my sight without the cash in my hand anyway} and if all things are as claimed I will have a Cheque or Bank draft delivered to me for $1750 OVER my asking price of $5250,.....awesome{not}. When I said that I want to think about it he became belligerent and abusive and said he was not interested in waiting,.....okay I felt like since my time has been wasted I am going to dig in and ask a few questions ie. where are you calling from{Cali}, how will I get my $500 back if I am not interested after I have registered " well you call our refund dept but I am only interested in selling your bike for you blah, blah, and more f***ing blah" He hung up on me,.....busted. I listed my bike on Auto Trader 2 days ago in Edmonton, Alberta. Mr. Blackwolf you are a lost soul,......and will probably eat a bullet from burning the wrong guy. I have a few friends that are good hackers/isp techs that will crash those servers for s**ts and giggles,......oops.

The number was 1-925-418-3224
Her manager is going to email me - Same deal $500 and 86% of their vehicles sell.
I placed an ad in AutoTrader yesterday for my BMW.

It just felt like a scam - I am not going to do it.

I just hung the phone with this used car salesmen named Alex Harper the "Account Manager" called from 925-418-3215 said he was from Allied Auto Group & was interested in a car ad I had for sale.  He told me to call back 1-888-390-6051 ext. 623 as I didn't give him any money he certainly wanted me to call back with credit card info.  So if I ever gave him my credit card info (which ain't going to happen) he could send over somebody with a check for $2400 MORE than I was listing my car for sale.  I suggested if he was dumb enough to "pre-approve" somebody to buy a car from 2500miles away for $2400 more than blue book then just reduce the price $500 bucks and you don't need my credit card #.  Just tell the guy where I live.  The guy needs my car so badly will still get what he needs and you'll still make a killing in interest loaning to high risk people.

I received the same call, but from number 760-718-3091 - SAME exact information though. Inventory low on my make and model so they want to get my car listed through them. $500 for a guaranteed sale, but if they don't sell it I get 400 back.

Sure sounds like a scam to me!

I received a call from 760-718-3271 and the 2nd time it was 760-718-3091.  Offering to help me sell my dump truck for $500 guaranteed with a full refund in 90 days if it doesn't sell.  He dropped the price to $375 and wanted a credit card number and email address now.......he got neither.  I am sure he found my number via Auto Trader.

Same as Nov 29 complaint.   Got a call on 12/28 from Maynard at Allied Auto Group trying to get me to list my car already on cars.com with them for $500 fee for 'guaranteed results.   Here's the email they sent me:

We have contract deals with hundreds of finance agencies and private lenders across North America. Upon loan approval, we have the client scan our Sellers database for a vehicle.  Your vehicle indeed qualifies for our program so below is the refund policy in writing for your convenience. Like we discussed, your vehicle does qualify for our program.

Once a vehicle is selected to be a part of our Seller?s inventory, there is an upfront $500 registration fee that is associated. However, our underwriters have included a $500 warranty charge to make doing business with us risk free! Thus, if your vehicle remains unsold by our 90 day due date we will refund you $400 as a thank you for trying us out.

I would like to ensure that you are completely comfortable with doing business with us before we proceed. Please have a look at our website www.alliedautogroup.com and write down any questions you may have so that I can answer your concerns before I send you to the verification department.

I look forward to speaking to you soon.
Best Regards,
Maynard

Got a message o list my 2004 accord with them.  i have an ad in auto trader.  Same story, pay 500 get 400 back if it doesnt sell in 90 days.  Lowered price but I said I would read the info in the email. Said they could get me 2500 over my asking price.  Sounds like a scam to get 100 bucks in 90 days.  I would like to know how many cars they have actually financed.  I don't think its anything more than a crap ad for 100 bucks net.  I told them to take me off their list.   Here is what they sent.
