This number: 767-275-9166 called my T-Mobile phone. Left no msg. I called it back and got foreign sounding outgoing msg. so I hung up. Was charged $2.00 for that!!! T-Mobile says money goes to the 767 number and they won't remove the charge from my bill. Beware of this fraud!!!. Tom L.

all personnel at my employer received an email from security of a scam alert...BEWARE OF A CALL THAT ONLY RINGS ONCE!  These calls are coming from the Caribbean; scammers have been calling phones, letting it ring once and then hanging up.  If you return the call, you will be charged a $19.95 int'l call fee, as well as a charge of up to $9/minute.

The trick involves getting you to call back. They let it ring once, and hang up.  That prompts you-the scammers hope- to call back allowing them to pile on charges while you're connected.  The calls usually come from outside the US  but that's not clear to the victim because they're from countries that also use a +1 country code.  Scammers have computers calling thousands of people every hour.  That way, a few are bound to call back thinking the unrecognized call might be an important one.  

If you get a suspicious call, Google the area code and number.  If you do get scammed, tell your carrier...they usually know about such tricks and will cancel charges.

It happened to my husband 3x and me 2x.  thankfully we didn't return the calls.

I had a charge for  $14.00 for this scam # 767-275-9155. Verizon removed it and I blocked the number.

It's a scam...and they charge you if you answer $20 for an international call. Check your phone bill!!

I received a call from this number & have no interest in calls from Dominica.

I got the same call.  I didn't know where it was from, tried to call back and was charged on my phone bill.

Federal law cuts off sales calls at 9PM. However, these particular callers from the Caribbean have nothing to sell. The object is to rack up high toll charges on your phone bill.

same here also it is against the law in all states no solicitation calls after 8pm whatever time zone your in so with whoever these scammers are they think it doesn't pertain to them that should b your first clue its a scam call

They called at 10pm PST. Rang once and I did not pick up because I did not recognize the #. Just googled the # and found this thread. Does anyone have any detailed information?

Unwanted cell number just rang and I checked the number. Would love for these calls to stop.

Don't answer, from a forien country, if you answer they somehow are able to pair your phone and then they use your phone number to make overseas calls, this then could cost you depending on your phone provider

Started getting these calls about 3 weeks after setting up my T-Mobile cell service. T-Mobile appears to be giving their client's phone numbers to third party survey and other business related companies who perhaps are turning around and looking to also make a dime off the T-Mobile clients, either on their own or by re-selling the numbers. From what I'm able to deduce, these scammers call numbers and never speak hoping to get a return call to some country in the Caribbean which will trigger a surcharge on your phone bill which goes directly into their pockets.

About 10 people have my cell phone number. All close friends and family and they all know I still prefer the landline. I never got spam calls from Verizon, my previous service, now I do.

Are you a T-Mobile customer? Call 6-1-1 and instruct them to remove your phone number from ALL of their third party affiliates who phone or text or can contact you.

Many cell phones allow you to block a certain number of calls - block these. Check the playstore for apps (Android) that assist in further call blocking. Research it.

I just got a call from that number this morning.  One ring...glad I didn't answer it.

Called at 12:02AM EST on 1/24/14. Was asleep and did not answer after it woke me. As everyone else, do not know anyone from area nor that number. Called once before late at night during the Christmas Holiday and I didn't answer either.

Called at 10pm.  Rang several times but since I don't know anyone in Dominica I did not answer.  Called left no message.  I hate scam callers!

Too bad Verizon only allows me to block 5 phone numbers, and even those blocks expire after 90 days.  Sudden increase in these jerk calls the last few days, and this is my last available block.  And why would I want to allow telemarketers to start calling again in 90 days?

I received a call, but they hung up pretty quickly. Not thinking, I called back and the response was automated saying "my # isn't on the list or isn't authorized to call this line". I hung up the phone instantly. Hopefully I dont get some crazy charge to my phone bill!!

Got this call last night and I think it only rang once. Went to call it back in the morning and only got a busy signal.

called at 10:55 EST. 3-4 rings then hung up. blocked the number. so glad I google these #'s before I answer!

Yep, just got a call just now. They rang once and hung up so of course I just googled the number and found several of these one ring issues.  The awesome thing, because they do leave the name Dominica, if you have an iPhone or I think just about any other kind of phone you can block them.

recieved call from767 275 9196 about 0630 today jan 21 2014 with two rings on my verzion cell phone. wife also got the same call about 10 minutes earlier.  Callsd Verzion and had the call charges waived because I mistakenly hit the send for a second.
Verzion will block international calls for you but only last 90 days.  Their web site will offer you up to 10 numbers blocked numbers  (FREE) but again only for 90 days then simply renew the blockage.  Reading more I found that you can be charged even if you do not answer. Suggest any number not recongnized be looked up first before returning and immediately call your service provider if its an international number.
