Received this call 6:15 pm.  Caller ID showed; unavailable.  Answered this call and no response.
The bill came from Verizonwireless and realized it showed as a dialed call 767-275-9170 (Roseau DM) and got a charge of $1.99 for a minute.
Verizonwireless customer svc is aware of this numbers and the representative told me that they would take off the charge right away.

I got a call from this number as well.  The following is the advise from our local BBB:

When the cellphone owner returns the call, they are charged $19.95 for the international call fee. After that, there is a $9 per-minute charge. "Often they will first hear music, then maybe advertising, but it's easy to see how quickly these charges can add up," noted Daniel.  Consumers who have been duped by these calls report that they are coming from Caribbean Islands including Grenada, Antigua, Jamaica and the British Virgin Islands.

People who think they may have fallen for this scam, should immediately alert their cellphone carrier and keep an eye on their cellphone bill. The earlier they document the fraud, the better their chances of having some or all of the charges removed.

Received call at 10:42 pm last night. Did not answer it. Checked on Google and am led to believe it is a scam.

One ring and hung up. Read several blogs saying it is a scam to get you to call back and then they hit your phone bill with charges. I recieved another call earlier in the day from 268-762-0078 that was an attempt to do the same thing. PUT THESE NUMBERS ON BLOCK! DO NOT CALL THEM BACK AND DO NOT ANSWER #'S YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE.

Phone call around 1 am. Nerve wracking as when you get phone call when you're sleeping, you think of emergency.

Received call at 8:15am. One ring, then hung up.

TWO OR THREE RINGS,, CALLER HUNG-UP.  NO MESSAGE..  FROM 767-275-9170.  NEVER ANSWER CALLS FROM UNKNOWN AREA CODES OR PHONE NUMBERS.

Call came at 11:00 central time and never left message. I do not share my cell number, so I know it was  unsolicited.

Just now got a call from that same ph #.  I wasn't around to answer.   I'm glad I google this to find out its a scam.  Thank you for all that put a comment here.

Call back scammer, just Don't Do It.

In the current variant of this scam, the caller doesn't have any intention of talking to you. All the scammer wants is for you to get upset enough about the late night call that you return the call, never even noticing that it is from a foreign country outside the reach of US or Canadian laws. When you return the call (at international rates), there may also be a big surcharge added to your phone bill that gets passed along to the scammer.

One and two ring calls from Caribbean Country's (Montserrat, Dominica,Jamaica, Grenada,  Antiqua and Barbados..) should not be called back! These calls are done so you will call them back and cram your phone bill with high Call costs:

just got a call from this number. 12:40am, rang once and then hung up.

one ring, no message, apparently from Dominica ???  idek where that is!   dont answer it!!!!!  it will most likely charge you if you pick up even though they hang up insantly!

Just got a call from this number at 11:30 pm, it rang twice then nothing. Thank God I only answer numbers I know or local numbers. I don't know what the scam is about, but I can not afford to be victim!!!

What exactly is the scam? What would happen if you answered or called back?

01-19-14. Got a call from this number at 10:23pm. It barely rang, bc by the time I grabbed my phone it already went I to missed calls. The number came up as from Dominica. I googled it as found this site. My cell # has been very private for years, I don't even get wrong #s, so I thought this was strange.

I received a call from this #-it is an unknown # to me.
