Do not be an idiot and hit 2 right away.  You will be validating that the number called is a good one.  Then they will use it and sell your validated number to others.

They probably wrote that comment themselves.  Use the phone blocking feature...works great!!!

Get a call from them all the time. You get on the no call list or press 2 and all they do is call in a few days with a different number same recording.  Im so tired of this. It eats up my minutes. I average about a call a day from some solicitor on each phone line. Which means I get 3 calls eating up my minutes a day. Non of us fill out any sweepstakes forms or anything like that. Which is where they used to get all our numbers. This should be illegal.

Ditto, a scam. Created a contact for the next time they call, but I've noticed these numbers aren't used for very long. Do they buy throw-away phones so they can fly under the radar of "donotcall.gov?" (I'm going to post this same message in all of my posts here from now on, because I'm hoping there's a way for the attorney general's office to catch up with these scammers ... they'll still breaking the law by calling people who have signed up for donotcall.gov, the throw-away phones they must be using notwithstanding).

Just got a call, called back and pressed 2

Called at 12:52 EST - no message.

I have a simple method: unless BOTH of the following are true:
1. I recognize the caller (either the CLID displays a name I know, or I recognize the number) AND
2. I want to talk to that person/company
then I simply let the answering machine pick it up. 99% of the time, they hang up when the machine picks up. If it is really important, they WILL leave a message, and I will call them back. If it's not important enough for them to leave a message, then it's not important enough for me to answer it live.

Almost every time, when I look up the number, it is junk like this (or "charities" where 90% of the funds go to the paid telemarketer). If we all start following this simple process, the scammers will have to find a new line of work because no one will answer their calls.

If any one number calls repeatedly, contact your phone company about "selective call rejection" (or you can buy a telephone that does this). When you enter a number into your rejection list, they just get a message that you are not accepting calls at this time. Your phone never rings when they call.

The DNC list only works for legitimate, law-abiding marketers (charities, political calls, and surveys are exempt). For scammers who are skirting (or outright violating) other laws (fraud, ID theft, etc), they don't care about the minor DNC fines. NEVER answer their calls, NEVER press "1" to be "taken off the list", or anything else. That's just like replying to a spam email, it just confirms that a live person answers this phone, and you just bought yourself a lot more calls just like it, from equally unscrupulous folks.

I answered the phone and no one at the other end several times

I am over these unwanted calls...we need something other than the do not call list.

Rec'd call from this number left no message. I called back and hit 2.  A recording then indicated the number you are calling from has been called to our no call list.

if you call back, you can hit "2" to be added to the no-call list. it is a cruise line soliciting call.
