Received a call today from this number, and when I said "Hello" several times I received no answer.  Maybe the call was to determine when I'm at home/when I'll answer calls?

Get Google Voice for your mobile for free.  You can then configure it to block calls from a particular Google Contact.  Just name the Google Contact as JUNK (or any name you choose) and put all phone numbers that are spam/scams/telemarketers/debt collectors inside that Google Contact.  Configure the Google Contact from Google Voice to block all calls.  This service is free.
I use this for 16 phone numbers so far.

Not sure if Google Voice works with land lines though...  Worth checking out though.

You are in fact the ignorant one.  That person simply told him that he would have to advise his caller since this board did not have the staff or means to do that for him. And that statement could be read to mean both ways. YOU are the one creating an issue with your foul mouth over rant over nothing..

You shut the f*** up youself.  Brain dead. This board is for posting information concerning unwelcomed callers that can be useful to others who also come here for facts and how to handle these callers.  Not to state your wishes...  If anyone wants someone to stop calling them,  then take care of it yourself.  No one gives a crap otherwise.

How can you tell?  You don't know who it was and apparently they didn't attempt to Sell you Goods or Services. (FTC Defines Telemarketing as Telephone Sales of Goods and Services)

They won't remove your number. In fact, you just confirmed that they called a legitimate number. Not only will they keep calling you, but now they'll sell your number to other telemarketing firms... both legal and illegal.

My advice is if you don't know a number on your caller ID, don't pick it up.  Once they know it's a valid number, they will keep calling you.  If they call a few times and no one picks up, they will usually move on to a new target.  If they don't, you can go onto your service providers website and add the number to their "blocked numbers" list.
