Today is the fifth time to call these people requesting them to stop all mailings. I informed them I only do business with the magazine companies directly. They were told I do not deal with third party billing. It is a waste of their time and paper. It is hard to be civil with such underhanded tactics to take your money. I mentioned this is the fifth time to call them---I had been told they could not take me off their mailing list with their company. On an earlier call I was told I would have to provide the "control number" on the renewal notice for them to remove my name. Today I had two different invoices regarding two different magazines,oh, the Wall Street Journal too. This lady reluctantly took the additional "control number" saying she had set in the system to drop my name. When pressed she insisted I would not be mailed after the 90 days it would take to cover any "already printed" invoices scheduled to be mailed out in my name. My filing system will hold my notes and the invoices to see what really does happen.
This was telephone:1-775-345-3664 I dealt with.

But part of the problem is that the magazines sell your address.  That's how scam outfits like United Publishers Services get your subscription information in the first place.  I called the magazine in question to complain, and she said my address would not be sold in the future.  Still, it's very annoying.

I have all financial records in Quicken, so I can quickly check to see when my magazine subscriptions run out.  I feel bad for the people with poor records.

I agree with 100 percent of what 'Joe' said above.  The outfit is a scam and should be looked into by at least 60 Minutes or Bill O'Reilly because our wonderful screwed up Federal government isn't doing a damn thing to prevent the ripoff of it's citizenry.

Google 'Orbital Publishing Group' of Reno, NV and see what you find.  It's embarrassing that the Feds refuse to get involved with these shyster scam artists..

If I had the time and the means I would go to their place of business and kill everyone that works there.

I'm working on it.

Beware of this company! They have NOTHING to do with the companies that they try to bill you for!  They BUY the mailing lists from various publishers and then send out fake invoices for a magazine, product or service. They also call and try to "protect you" from what they claim is a massive rate increase by selling you a subscription at 3x the going rate! They frequently claim to be from the billing Department of that company and the caller id will usually show them as "Billing Dept" or "Collections Dept". However they have NO connection with the original company. They will try to charge double, triple or even quadruple what the original company charges.

Do not pay or do any business with this company FOR ANY REASON!

You can also check them out of the Reno, Nv (their mailing address)  BBB website. They have an F rating with over 400 unresolved complaints!  They also operate under a long list of false names. Some of which are posted on the BBB site.

If you are contacted by this company you should file a complaint against them with your state's Attorney's Office for fraud and misrepresentation. If they call and you are on the Do-Not-Call list you should also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.

Received mail from this outfit also.   However we do not have any subscriptions with some magazines
we have been getting.  They arrive and we have no idea why they are sending them to us.  Now
I'm thinking the crooks may send them and then bill us thinking we will then pay for it.

Some may, but not us.

Soooo, if you are maybe getting publications you never subscribed to it could be a set up.

I am helping my 90 year old friend pay her bills.  She subscribes to a lot of magazines and it has been a challenge straightening things out forher. To make a long story short, somehow PUBLISHERS NETWORK EXCHANGE sent her a bill for $89.95 for magazine renewal.  Investigating this further it is a scam.  Beware!

Didn't get a phone call, got snail mail with a renewal form that was authentic looking. But My subscription had been renewed. Called the publications subscription service and the representative said that NMS, or National Magazine Service, was not authorized by them to do anything, and that the publication had issued
warnings on inserts and on its web site about them.
