They clearly are running the same fraud.

Just got the same message as Sarah from the same Ontario for my motorcycle I have posted on craigslist. Good thing I saw these responses to learn that this was a scam.

Similar situation for my husband and I.
Same day we posted the item, this person sent us text messages from (775)-629-2157
"Is item still for sale?"...
"what is the present condition of item?"...
"Do you have an account with PayPal?"...
"PayPal is safe and secure for both parties and I have been using PayPal for years with no problems"...
"let me know when you are done signing up"...
"I will arrange for a pick up agent once payment has been made and cleared"...
"The $ will be paid into your account. What you have to do is to follow the rules and regulation given to you by Paypal okay"...
....
Then my husband and I decided not to get PayPal because it sounded too weird and fishy. So we told this person if they could do a money order instead.
This person then said "get back to me if you change your mind"

But then they text back with a different # the next day. An Ontario # (289)-335-5940

So be considerate with me. I am willing to add an extra $50 if you can secure the purchase. I asked is this the same person from yesterday?
Replied to me "yes,... am the same person,... Okay,.... Just send me your full contact address where I can issue you the cheque. I will be looking forward to hear from you asap" ....... "Ok got it, I will text you as soon as I mail out the check before I travel. I'll be sending you some excess on the payment this you will be given to the shipper, to enable them to do the pick up at your place ok, Kindly go remove the advert on site for another. potential buyers not to tress pass. okay,.. thanks very much for your understanding.

Then I asked for there full name for the paperwork? they did not reply back.

My husband and I then found this sight thank god. And now will be reporting this incident to the proper authority.

Same as above, I am selling a guitar and they are asking me to give them my paypal info.....SCAM

Just had the same number text me about some furniture we're selling. I called and left a message and it is a google voice number. They said they were a "deaf" woman who could not answer my voicemail...sounds like a hoax. They said they were in Wichita Falls, TX. and that they would "arrange for pick up once the payment has been made and clear." Same MO as the ones above...STAY AWAY!

I also just received a text from "Jessica" but at this number 281-747-6182. Things felt weird so I goodled the email given rlaker006@gmail.com and came up with this site. It seems that the 775-629-2157 and the 281-747-6182 must be connected. I was selling a $650 piece of furniture. She asked me to send an invoice via Pay Pal, which I did. I was okay with the idea of Pay Pal but then they wanted to take an additional $400 for their shipping company. I said I didn't feel comfortable with this. I cancelled the invoice via Pay Pal and feel like I dogged a bullet too. I don't know how people scam through Pay Pal but it makes me feel nervous. So I'd rather not do it.

Had the same number text me about a desk I had for sale on Craigslist. I live in Oklahoma. I told them "cash only" as stated in the ad and they said to let them know if I changed my mind because they felt PayPal had high security. Uh, don't need security if you bring a truck to pick it up and money to pay for it.

Just dodged same bullet! Same phone number, same email and same situation ($500 furniture).  Wanted to buy my furniture via PayPal (without even seeing it) and wanted my PayPal account,  I said Cash Only Please.  "Jessica" wrote back saying she is more comfortable with PayPal due to high security ensuring proper transaction between seller and buyer.  She is willing to buy something sight unseen, but is worried about transaction security- odd.  Then found this string- thanks for starting it!

Definitely scam.... same as everyone described. ..wants PayPal account information and doesnt care about what condition furniture is in.... when I played alone and maid up all kinds of issues with the condition they still wanted to " buy" for unrealistically high price. ...

This number came up as a text after I listed an ad on craigslist for a trumpet.  I am in Michigan and the area code belongs to Nevada...that was my first clue!  They said they would pay for it, sight unseen via paypal and send someone to pick it up.  Scam!!  Beware!

be wary of this. I live in TX and had posting on craigslist as well. Wanted to buy my item and would "Pay" via pay pal.  Due to his work hours, he cannot see the item but is willing to pay for it and asks for my paypal account w/o seeing my items.  When I demanded to see the items first then negotiate, he/she stopped.

Got a text regarding an ad I have on Craig's List. Wanted to buy the item for $5000. I asked them whether they wanted to see the item. They said their work kept them too busy. They said they intended to pay via PayPal, and asked if I had a PayPal account. I saw that the phone number was from Nevada, and I'm in Ohio, so I asked how they intended to get the item to Nevada. They said they would arrange transportation after the payment cleared. Again, they asked for my PayPal account. I have had a number of these types of calls reguarding something I was selling on Craig's List. However, in the past it was always furniture I was selling. This time it is a tractor. The process they describe is always the same. Payment via certified check or PayPal. The amount is usually more that the price of the item. The extra is included to "hold" the item for them. Also, the transportation costs to get the item from me to them will also be included in the "check". Once the payment is cleared I can send the transportation money to the "movers". At this point, or sooner, I tell them I am not interested in the process they describe to purchase my item. And, the conversations stop.

I GOT A TEXT MESSAGE FROM THIS NUMBER REGARDING A CRAIGSLIST AD I HAD.  THEY SAID THEY COULD SEND A PAYPAL PAYMENT AND SEND SOMEONE TO PICK UP THE FURNITURE I HAD FOR SALE.  I ASKED THEM TO CALL ME.  THEY SAID THEY WERE A DEAF WOMAN AND COULD NOT.  SO I ASKED THEM TO USE "RELAY TEXAS".  NO RESPONSE.  I CALLED THE NUMBER AND IT SAYS IT IS DISCONNECTED.  

SCAM.

I WILL BE REPORTING TO FBI.  AND YOU SHOULD TOO!
