Got a call from this number asking for "Emily Smith." No such person here. The caller did not identify himself -- but it makes sense to me that it may be a NV state outbound number.

Nope it's a generic state number that comes up no matter who calls you from the State.  I have family that works in several different departments and this number comes up every time.

i RECEIVEDA CALL FROM THIS #, & THE CALLER ID SAID IT WAS "DAVE YOUNG."  I DON'T KNOW ANYBODY WITH THAT NAME; FURTHERMORE, I WAS UNABLE TO GET THE CALL, SO IT WENT TO VM.,  LIKE QUITE A FEW OF YOU HAVE BEEN SAYING, & NO MESSAGE HAD BEEN LEFT.

I GET CONCERNED; MAINLY FOR THE FACT THAT I HAVE RECENTLY HAD MY IDENTITY MESSED WITH. (OVERTAKEN)

I GUESS THE BEST THING TO DO, IS LET  A N Y  NUMBER YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE GO TO VM.  IF IT IS LEGIT, THEY WILL LEAVE A MESSAGE, & YOU CAN GET BACK TO THE PERSON.

I work for the State of Nevada, this is our trunk line number. Any of our calls out are routed to use this number so we don't get bombarded with calls. As far as them calling and hanging up, it happens to me in my office too so I don't know.

This number is for the State of Nevada Secretary of states office for filing business entities.  This number is not for a debt collector. It is legit.

They called didn't leave a message. When I called the number back you get a recording stating that "You have dialed an unassinged station number or you dialed a local number using the area code, Please try call again!"

Someone used the phone at the office to call your number, all they have to do is say they needed to make a phone call and this is the line they are allowed to use.

This is one of the trunk-line numbers you will see when you are receiving a call from a Nevada State Agency.  The most likely place would be State Personnel, but it could be any number of departments.

Was called and when I returned call there is a recording that states this is an unassigned station number.

Missed a call on my cell phone and tried to call it back and no luck. I will wait until it calls again and hopefully I will be able to pick up my phone and see who this is.
