How do you know it's CBV Collections? They can't be calling to collect from me, I have no debts, so maybe they want to solicit my business for collection of anything that may be owed TO me? I don't waste my time picking up calls I don't recognise, so I don't know what it was about. No message.

Dec /09. Called my cell # that almost no one has, at about 7:45pm. Answered and no one there/hung up.
ps-- 778 #s are usually based in Vancouver, BC (but some are on Vanc Island)

It's a Vancouver based collection agency called CBV, actually. 814 Richards St, Suite #100, Vancouver, BC V6B 3A7. If they are calling before 7am or after 10pm, or using abusive or threatening tactics, or contacting friends and family you can lodge complaints under the Consumer Protection Act.

It is not a collection agency. It is an annoying telemarketer that does not respect the do not call list in Canada. Canada useless laws that do not mean anything. Time to take action and bomb the company that keeps calling.

I get music on my answering machine too. First time was something like Islamic music and the second time was Techno music after someone says Hello. It was 2 different person talking. If they are in need of a friend they can call somewhere else!

The call came through, then the system seemed to intervene a conversation a woman was having...then I heard her say, first he comes over & dances, & then he gives it.... It almost sounds obscene. Then, I was cut off.

Oh another thing is that the first caller actually tried to call me like 4 times, before they used a tactic to the effect of "if this is the wrong number, please please call me back to let me know..." LOL
I never got a call from that caller again, I now have a 2nd person trying to call (south asian lady...). She's really persistent too.. using the same script of needing to sign some urgent documents. I'm having fun just answering and just leaving the phone on the sofa for a few minutes. I think next time, I will actually say "hello.." then put them on hold - over and over and over again!

These people call my cell every other day. I just pick up the call but dont say anything... LOL..
If they do leave a message, they ask for some made up name, and say that there is an urgent document blah blah blah....

Its CBV collections trying to be sneeky with a re-routed telephone number to confuse caller ID. They don't mind trying to embarrass someone at work by leaving a message that it is "CBV Collections" calling which, by the way, is arguable whether they are allowed to do so under the privacy act, i.e., not protecting your privacy.
