They've called twice asking for a person with the same last name. They don't identify themselves.

Looks like they're calling everybody in Canada with a phone, hoping to find relatives.

. They're not paying for anything. They're doing their job and getting paid to call you.  You are wasting your own phone bill. But if its Carfinco calling you probably owe them money...so its safe to assume you probably have no regard for handing responsibilities. lol

Just got a call. Took a chance picking up a 780 area code number (assuming that is genuine). Got silence. Unreal. One day, their day will come. If not in their business lives, in their pathetic personal lives.

I dealt with Carfinco for my car loan and I am not in Alberta. Its a company that helps first time buyers. People with little or no credit and to help build or rebuld credit.

A woman named Misty called from this # and asked me to call back. I did, and she asked if I knew a person who has the same last name as I do, said she was trying to track him down. I never heard of the perp so that was the end of the discussion. Probably defaulted on a loan.

Got a call from Carfinco 780-413-7549 looking for someone with the same last name, obviously grasping at straws trying to find a defaulter. They said they'd take my number off their list. We will see!

This number keeps calling me - I have asked on several occasions that they remove the number from there call list!!!

Lady just called me from this number.  She only wanted to speak to my Employer.  She couldn't even say his name properly.  She just stated that it is a personal matter.  I hung up.  When someone calls our office & is very cagie with their info then I dont let this call go thru to my Employer.

So in Alberta there is a seized or sue law. The did repo my car 1.5 years ago after my divorced. My finacial situation is way better and I decide to apply for a car loan. Guess what, I was approved but under one condition is the Carfinco loan had to be paid off cause it shows on my Credit Bureau an amount owing of $9000.00. I called my lawyer right away and he review the contract and he said I don't owe any money cause the seize or sue applied as it's a conditionnal contract. I contacted by email their Active Charge Off Recovery name Teresa by email to get this remove off my credit. Also my lawyer want to have her last name cause we would go to court as it's illegal tactic to make sure you will never have a car loan from anyone for years. 3 Emals, multiple hone call and guess what??? No reply whats so ever. Fishy when their own agent won't even put their full name on letter they sent you? That prove they know what they are doing is a scam. w will go forward with this law suit anyway and that girl Teresa will have no choice to come out of the dark.

They called and I answered. I could hear someone on the other end but no-one said anything then they hung up. Previous comments state that they are a car finance company. I have NEVER had a car loan and there is no way anyone has used me as a reference on their car loan so they would have no reason to call me.

I received a call from 780-413-7549.  The caller said they were looking through the phone book for someone and wondered if I knew someone named.....the name is that of my spouse.  First off - our number is unlisted. Reading above, I see that people are saying they are a finance company?  We do not have anything financed by anyone.

I told the person I do not know what they are talking about and hung up.  The caller immediately called back saying we must have been cut off.  I told them they have the wrong number and hung up again.

some called from that company that I m a reference to Brendan Barry and I do not know him even.
And how it seems he is trying to use me as Reference (2nd financier).
Very suspicious I told the company to get my Name  out of the their system as reference

They called & left a message: they're looking for someone with a surname similar to mine.  Since I'm not who they're looking for, I'm not going to waste my time calling them back.  And if they keep calling, I'll block them.

They ask for "Rosanne" or "Roxanne" but there's no one here by that name. I told her second time she called today, that she's calling the wrong number. Decided to check it out, i thought it was some collection agency looking for someone who's "initials" are the same as mine in the phone book.

I better not be billed for it, since I didn't call them, they called me.

Carfinco is a compy that will help people like all you losers who are saying how crappy they are.  make sure when you have to apply with them youlet your references know you left them as a reference, and that someone might be calling cause you losers wont pay your bill.  The problem is not the company its the people you know who hate you enough to give your number out as their own or as a ref.  get new friends!!!

I just got a call from this number 780-413-7549 asking me for money for some person who used my name as a reference I have never heard of this guy before and told them so...hopefully that will be the end of it...The nerve of some people..I live in BC..

I had that number appear on my phone bill twice and i'm being charged for it.  One time they called and it was a guy with a strong Indian accent about a virus on my computer and I hung up.

I also got a call I missed the call and called back it said carfinko so I hung up, no idea who that is or what it is

This number keeps appearing on my phone. When I pick up, no one answers, click and disconnects.

Since they are not telemarketers, they do NOT have a DNC (Do Not Call) compliance order, they have a legal right to call you if they beleive you or someone at that number owes them money- this is called skiptracing- if they do in fact have the wrong number kindly advise them you do not know the person, and you do not want to be contacted again... not to say that they wont call you again in a few months but hey...

THEY ARE NOT TELEMARKETERS! they are an auto finance company who would be calling for 2 reasons:

1: someone listed you as a reference for a car loan and they are following up

OR

2: they have your number in their system for someone that has a loan with them, which has probably defaulted and collections are beginning, they would be calling you to confirm your identity as the debtor or as a wrong number.

They keep calling me, but no-one talks when I answer. It's sooo annoying. Always when I'm changing a diaper or putting finishing touches on supper. How can I get them to stop, without paying for anything?

...... its crap.... I make sure I pick up via speaker phone.. and hit mute at the same time, I don't care... I can play their game all day long... 7 days a week.     At least I have the satisfaction they are paying for my annoyance.   LMAO

You were either a reference of a cusotmer, a co-borrower, employer, co-worker or a same last name or neighbour or friend and they just want informaiton from you on a customer, (they do have a reward system in place for something like that too). If it is truly a wrong number, mis-dialed just call their toll free # with all your information to be taken off their call list. If you don't owe any money you have nothing to fear by calling them and getting them to stop, right?
