Announcement! The scammer is no longer on this number. I do hate prank calls and scammer calls. I purchased an iphone 1 1/2 years ago, I chose this number, I am not the scammer! It's hard for me to believe that a scammer used to own my number several years ago! Yes I do get a lot of prank calls or scammer calls, I hate it. I was bored so I just searched my number on this site and this is what I see? Whoever used to own my number in 2009, screw you! Anyways I just hope that the problem with this number is done! :) This number is not unknown anymore! I am a teenager using this number since April 2013 I don't know if someone hacked my number though because this random person texts me about some sort of relationship problems?! I had nothing to do with that. I also had nothing to do with all these scammers you all have been talking about. Please don't think I am the scammer because I am not the scammer! Got a letter. Is it legit?

Depends who the payer on your check is.  I know the people on my check already received 10+ calls befor ethey got mine and have changing their banking info, so the check wouldn't clear anyway.  They had more info alreayd than I could provide.

any chance we can deposit the check as it is a live one?

I just got off the phone with Bestech.  As usual it's a scam.  Best thing you can do is mail your letter and check directly to Payer listed on the check so they can turn the info over to the proper authorities.

I received the same letter. I did not do anything yet! Do not know it is real or scam.  The check from Veolia Es Industrial Services, Inc. in Ashland, KY, and with the JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. in Chicago, IL. If you find out about it, please let me know.

I received the same letter.  I has to be a scam.  Phone # is Canadian.  The company the check is drawn against is an asbestos and lead company in Connecticut.  There is no return address on the envelope, all strange.  I contacted the company, BESTECH, that the check is drawn against.  When they contact me i am sure to find it to be a scam.  This is the 3rd such letter i've receievd.  The others usually come from the Bahamas.  Granted, the postmark on the envelope is from Plattsburgh, NY which is home to a gaming site, but they would not have issued a check like this.

I would contact the company name on the check and let them advise what to do.

i called and some 'rep' wants me to cash the check make sure the funds are in my hands and then go to a local bank and wire the money...let me ask you do you do any sorts of sports betting, this is supposably the reason y we received this letter, your thoughts?

I got the same letter from synergy saying I won $45,000 and enclosed is the check of $1,995. So far I din't do anything yet? So, what did you do

i believe the check is legit and I'm tempted to cash it BUT speaking with the 'rep' he advise to cash the check and then pay the 'tax agent' at a local bank. within 24hrs i will receive the rest of the winnings. This is
according to the 'rep'

received a letter in the mail from 'SYNERGY' stating I won $45,000 from 'Integrated Awards - third category draw.' It included a check for $1,995 made payable to me.  Included reference numbers, batch numbers and phone number 780-695-2338.  assuming this is scam.
