I recieved the same text message on Friday, 11/28. Not cool because I dont have unlimited texting. I did some research, and it looks like Sprint has sold #'s. Does anyone know how to start a class action law suit? I get charged for going over my text limit, and Sprint is selling my # to companys that is causing me to go over!!

This number sent me a text message *Solicitation* offering to send text messages to land lines, apparently Sprint has been selling my information to third party solicitors again!! I do not like being harrassed or telemarketed in anyway on my cell phone. Idiots.  How do I block people like this??!!

I just called sprint.  this is not a service that they provide and they have no partners that provide this service.  anybody know how this company is?

First, Sprint has NOT blocked this! I just got this exact msg from the number 781-577-6885 about adding a celebrity voice blah blah... on Feb 9, 2010, so Sprint has NOT blocked it

Second, WE, the customers, should not HAVE to block this - if Sprint gets more than about 3 block requests for THE SAME EXACT NUMBER / NUISANCE, then SPRINT SHOULD BLOCK - PERIOD!

Third, I think you are right - this happened right after I sent a text to a LAND LINE - so it is some service and it comes back and says "thank you for using text-to-land-line." Then, a little later, you get this crap.

NOW, first off, I have node idea WHICH line might be "land" vs. "mobile." I thought I had sent to a mobile number and did not know until I got back the silly note about "text-to-land-line."
For MOST lines in my contacts, yes, I know for the most part, which are land vs. mobile; but, bottom line is I never intended to use any "text-to-land-line" service, and I should have been asked BEFORE they assumed that!

So, yes, it IS SPRINT'S fault, because they should NOT allow use of ANY such services, WITHOUT the person's express permission! And again, once they get numerous complaints about THE SAME EXACT NUISANCE NUMBER, THEY SHOULD *IMMEDIATELY* TAKE ACTION AND BLOCK THIS CRAP, but they are NOT, because this means $$ REVENUE to Sprint! Sprint obviously is splitting whatever fee for this text-to-land-line service, and allowing those folks to send us CRAP!

It was sent via a 'text' message to my phone.

I also received a text message on my Sprint cell phone. I will foolow the suggestion to block the number. Hopefully the block works. It seems others were unsuccessful in blocking the number.

Don't send text messages to lanelines, and you won't have a problem. When you send a text to a loandline this feature sends it in a computer voice.

I received the text, it's from Virgin Mobile - you can call them at 888-322-1122.  I'm chatting with a Sprint rep right now about it.

Text at 6:00 pm cental.  NOT BLOCKED YET.

I just got this (call # to get celebrity voice on text to land line) from short #9369 after I did sent a text to a landline.  I added both the short number and the long one to my block list at sprint.com.

Just got a call...(in fact I am receiving a lot of them)from the same number requesting I send my name to a land line...not on your life!!!

Just got the Text 724-891-3258 Thanks for using Text to Landline when i sent 972/361-2334 a text.  So i am not sure if the service is linked the the number i sent the text to but might be somethign to look into.  I then got a text from a 8253 number i think that said my text was sent to a machine on a landline.  So what ever. need to let Sprint know about this as well.

I just got this message on my sprint phone at 1:40am February 10th.  Are you sure it is blocked?! I too am on the do not call registry.
