This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I received several call from this number stating that it was Williamson  Law Firm and  that I was facing legal action for not
paying back a loan.   Can anything be done to stop these harassing calls?

I received a call at work today from some lady I couldn't understand hardly at all because she had a thick accent. She said she was calling from a law firm but I didn't catch the name and said that there was a claim against my social security number which she rattled off and then she said she wanted the name of my criminal attorney and his number. I told her I didn't have an attorney and that I was at work and could not talk. I gave a number that I could save the voice mail. When I went on break I indeed had a voice mail and it was this person talking very fast with the thick accent. I heard attorney and arrest but that was it. I have dealt with scammers before and I was gullible the first time they called until I talked to my sister.

Received a call from this number stating he was with williamson law firm and he was going to have me arrested for defaulting on a payday loan unless I settled the matter in the next 45 min

My wife received a call just now from them saying she took out a loan for like 500 and didn't pay it and want 8 thousands dollars or they are gonna get her arrested for 21 days. They somehow knew address, social security number, and where she worked. But I'm sure it's a scam since its the same guy calling everyone. If it was a true law firm they would have multiple people. Its just scary that they had all the information. But they couldn't tell her anything about anything

I received a call from this number today....and they are very convincing because they have all of your information. It was not until I did a search on the number that I realized it is a scam. I really could not understand the gentlemen he had a strong Middle Eastern accent. When I asked the name of the law firm again, he rattled it off so quickly I could not understand him.

Received a call from an individual who stated that they were calling from Washburn Law Firm and that a criminal complaint had been filed against mr social security number and that I needed to hire a criminal attorney. She did not give me any information as to who filed the complaint or why. I requested that she send me any documentation regarding this matter. I have turned this matter over to my attorney.
