I've received a call from the same number as all of you and a 202-316-4793 number. These companies can get into your bank info if you have any on your smart phones after you press what they ask you to. Be careful and check your accounts if you've pressed any numbers to speak to them while on a smart phone.

I didn't answer either but after researching them I found stories where people answered and followed the steps to speak to someone and the next day their bank accounts had been hacked.

Called me too, did not answer. Why do so many folks answer these bogus phone numbers. If we all stopped..... but there are always more suckers out there, aren't there.

I received a call from this number at 6:15am today! Our first thought--Something happened to one of our parents! I answered in a panic, heard the recording about lowering credit card rates, and hit "9." I did not hit "9" because I was interested; I was angry. A man (from India?) said, "Oh! You're interested in lowering your credit card rates?" I replied, "No. It's 6:15 in the morning. We thought one of our parents had fallen or died. This is horrible of you." He said...with a laugh..."It's 6:15 in the morning?" I hung up.

I tried calling the number, and a woman said "Hello." I was trying to talk to her, but it didn't sound as though she could hear me. I feel sorry for her, if she isn't the person who originated the call this morning.

Robo call telling me I can lower my interest rate and that I "may" have received a letter recently.  I pushed 9 and was connected to "Paul" who sounded like he is from India or Pakistan.  He claimed to be in Atlanta, Ga.

I asked him which card this was regarding and he said "all your Mastercard and Visa cards".  I told him I wanted to know which one specifically and he assured me they do business with over 500 banks.

When I told him the robo-call was illegal, he was very defensive and told me over and over that it was NOT illegal because I had pressed 9 to talk to him.  What a bunch of jerks.  I only hope I cost them some money by tying up his time.  The fact that they are using a scammed phone number really reflects well on the company.  IDIOTS.

This is the fourth BS unsolicited call I've had today. I'm on the DNC list. Wish I could crawl through the phone and punch whoever is on the other end. Better yet, I'd cheese grater their knuckles.

Got an "Out of Area" ID'd call. Recorded female message refers to a letter I "might" have received from my credit card company informing me my rates "might have changed or may change soon".  No mention of a specific banking institution. instructed me to press "9" to be connected to a rep.

I hung up, called back to the number displayeddial via re. This is a new number I haven't seen before.
Got the "nasty do do do" sound and a recording saying the call could not be completed as dialed (I was suspicious of the 000 prefix)

So I reported it to the FTC @ 877-382-4357 after trying to do the online report and not getting choices that fit.
They took info and gave me a reference #.

I also made sure our # is registered on the do not call registry.

I got a call 7/17/12 about credit card services. I pressed 3 about 8 times, I got music like I was waiting to be connected to talk to them. Where do I go to report this? I get calls like this weekly from different numbers.

Reporting these types of call to the FCC might not do any good. All the "company" does is change numbers to somethig else. I am on the DO NOT CALL list, all it did was slow them down.

If you get a robocall:

Hang up the phone. Don't press 1 to speak to a live operator and don't press any other number to get your number off the list. IF YOU RESPOND BY PRESSING ANY NUMBER, IT WILL PROBABLY JUST LEAD TO MORE ROBOCALLS.

Consider contacting your phone provider and asking them to block the number, and whether they charge for that service. Remember that telemarketers change Caller ID information easily and often, so it might not be worth paying a fee to block a number that will change.

Report your experience to the FTC online at www.donotcall.gov or by calling 1-888-382-1222.
To learn more about illegal robocalls and what the FTC is doing to stop them, visit ftc.gov/robocalls.

I answered after second ring.  Simple hang up, but "unknown name" and odd number (totally unfamiliar area code) made me curious.

Just got a call from them to lower my credit card (one which I don't have). I pressed #9 to be connected to "Mark," I'm sure his name is Prakesh. Anyways...I asked him to take me off his calling list and of course he didn't ask me my # but hung up after asking me three times if I wanted knew what the offer was.

Complete scammers calling from god knows where . . . I gave them my unique Irish treatment sort of like Liam Neeson in the movie Taken.
