These people call my home 5-6 times a day saying they can reduce my credit card debt, and have special information for my balances that will be going up. if I press number one to be taken off the call list, they hang up on me, if I press number 1 and talk to a lady and tell her to stop calling, she hangs up on me.  If you call back and say please let me speak to a supervisor, they just hang up on you. I can't take it anymore, the messages clog my answering maching. The guy's name on the message is Richard Helm. They call as early as 8 in the morning, 7 days a week.

I've been getting calls from this number for weeks and I finally decided that I needed to ask to be removed from their list, and when I called to ask, they freaking hung up on me! I called again, and they hung up on me again, as soon as I mention that I want my number removed I hear "click."

SO the third time I called, I played along. The woman said would you like do see about having your debt reduced and I said yes. She said okay how much debt do you have and I said debt? I don't have any debt. Then she said oh ok, would you like us to remove your number then? I said you can do that? She said yes, then she repeated my number to me, and hung up on me before she gave me confirmation.

So this must be a scam and I'm going to see if I can block the number, but not before I finish prank calling them for a while longer with my phone next to my speaker that's blaring some poor quality music.
No way!

There is no way a credit card company can raise your interest rate or minimum payment via a phone call. Any such changes must be done in writing and you have the opportunity to reject the changes, close the acct and pay it off on the old terms. This number is a scam designed for identity theft. Dont fall for it!!!!

I got the same call to my Skype phone, a phone number that's not registered anywhere, never used, never given out, so they're randomly dialing. The "it's imperative to call me back" part is what really annoys me. I will call the FCC and give them the 800 number. I know the Caller ID can't be used legally, but I hope the return phone number can be. It's time that these people are pursued legally.

Tired of calls from these scam artists? Well, since you can't identify them, the FCC won't follow up a complaint, but if Call Kevin Martin, the Director of the FCC at (202) 418-1000 you can let him know how pleased you are with the job of enforcement they're doing... And while you're at it, use *67 to block your outgoing caller id information and call these people back -- 702-520-1396, 702-520-1139, 702-502-1100, 818-870-8183 and any other numbers for them you can find... If everyone floods their system it might just shut them down! Oh and one last thing... Please call the FCC, call your state's attorney general's office, call your congressman and senator and call anyone and everyone who's supposed to be doing something about this instead of just sitting back, collecting a paycheck from your tax dollars and letting these people scam and harass without consequence.

I started getting calls from these guys about 10 days ago.
I asked to be taken off their call list only to get hung up on.
Yesterday I had the idea to play their game.  Say I'm interested in their debt reduction and that I have $125k in debt.  You give them a name and phone number and they transfer you to their "supervisor".  I then point out that I'm lying and will continue to waste their time until I'm taken off teh list.  Dunno if it will help, but it is kind of funny.    I usually don't go very long....maybe I'll spend a while on the phone next time.

Same situation here (I get Chris St. James, not Richard Helm). They call one or two times a week. Usually the calls come in the middle of the day and are left on my voice mail -- but I just got one now, at 8:00 am, before I'd left for work. I was stupid enough to pick up the phone, so now I'm sure they moved me to the "live person" list and they'll call more often.

And yes, I'm on the DNC list. Obviously they're violating it. How do we report them?

I automatically record phone calls that I am unsure of the caller ID. I got this one this morning, although I have gotten it multiple times in the past, this one was different.
It started with a woman pitching free sattelite installation in my area. Then my wife picked up the other line and it made a beep. The message immediatly started over and was Chris St.James from Broadcom offering debt relief.
The system is pretty shoddy. I can't find enough information on them to launch a civil suit or I would. Most of the information I find on them seems to be fictitious. Broadcom is a technology company that is working on bluetooth technology and its not likely they are connected.
Next time they call, I am going to go back and forth between the phones and keep the messages restarting as long as I can. I bet I can tie thier system up for hours.
If you have wireless phones that will beep when the other line is picked up, try it. It might just work. Plus, you could be saving some poor smuck from getting scammed.

Report RICHARD HELM and TRANSCON DATA CORP. to the NATIONAL CONSUMERS LEAGE FRAUD CENTER and every other fraud report you can.  Here is the form for the NCLFC:

https://secure.nclforms.org/nficweb/nfic.htm

This is not a telemarketer.  This is not a collection agency.  THIS IS A SCAM aimed at getting credit info from you for use in identity theft.  Do not call back EVER.  You call back and then they call you more and more till you get frustrated and give in.

Go ahead and type "Richard Helm" and "Transcon" into any search engine and see how many cell numbers across the country (and internationally) they are using to fish for people's information.

If they are calling you on your cell phone, go online to your provider's website ad enter the number into your blocked numbers list.  Then you'll never get a call from them again.  Don't have a list or you have a land line?  Call your provider and report the number to them and ask them to block it from your account.  Done.  No more fake calls from them.

If you have given information to Transcon Data Corp. (which is not a company - its a rented office run by a few thieves) call your credit and/or banking institution right away to change any passwords and to have new cards with new numbers sent to you.  Pay nothing.  Report everything.  Protect your identity.

Same thing. Richard Helms, Debt Reduction Services
1-888-471-9828
The call is answerd by "Trans Con Data Corp" then the recorded voice says, "Transfering you to the Debt Reduction Center."

The phone connection is very spotty-like it's going through a satellite or something.

I have pressed  to be taken off "any of our lists."

I have called and waited for a person and talked to serveral. I asked where this company was located. Two said Florida, one said Wyoming.

I asked to speak to Richard Helms. He is the manager, I was told.

I receive at least two calls per week from this.

I received calls from both Chris St. James and Richard Helms. Both times the voice mail indicated that it is imperative I call back as this is relating to my credit card balance, and that I'm eligible for debt reduction program. When I called back (from my cell phone) I got a busy signal.
