I just got this info from Verizon for their accounts. Others, I don't know.
1. to report these scam to Verizon, forward the text to 7726 and there will be an exchange of text with Verizon, all free of charge.
2. to block the Vtext, go to you Verizon account and get into "management Verizon Family safeguard and control" and in there there is a way to block incoming text.

I just received two texts messages telling me to call this number about an account number that had been blocked. Without thinking I called the number but the line was busy so I looked up the number online and found this site. Glad I did. I don't live in Florida anymore and I never had an account with 1st CU when I did.

Received two text messages also within a few minutes, saying two accounts were blocked and to contact 8002351381. I have no accounts at 1st CU so it's clearly a scam. I think this might be a follow up to a call I had received on Monday about a bogus magazine subscription where I had verified my name and address before I realized what was going on. These messages showed up as 890134@vtext. Went on the 1st CU website and contacted them about the information I received, since I saw their alert about the scam on the home page. Figured the additional information might help the police catch these people.
