In conjunction with publicizing complaints, we need to contact various regulatory agencies regarding the deceptive and inappropriate practices of the Funds Transfer Alliance (FTA).  A starting point would be to file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office of the state where FTA is located (Arizona) - http://www.azag.gov/consumer/complaintform.html AS WELL as the Attorney General's Office of the state where the call was received.  Another agency to file a complaint with is the Federal Trade Commission and possibly the Federal Communications Commission.

Also check out FTA on the Arizona Corporations Commission - http://starpas.azcc.gov/scripts/cgiip.exe/WSe ... 4310&type=L.L.C.

File Number: L-1381431-0

The registered agent is Amber Williams.  Her on-and-off boyfriend Bryan Martin is listed on the articles of incorporation.  Also check out her intensive propaganda-like Twitter site - http://twitter.com/#!/amberatfta

Apparently every other employee who is one of her cronies also has a similar Twitter site.  Also check out Amber's ridiculous website where she gives "sage" advice http://www.amber-williams.com/

Very doctrinaire and self-involved.  For being "vegan" and "enlightened," Amber appears to be an incredibly materialistic, superficial, flaky and horrific person.  *Wow*

I would never do business with this organization!!!  Do you hear me FTA??!!

I received a call from Joy at 888-535-3515, x3898 claiming she was from the FTA.   She said we had been selected for "review" because we had so many years of low-risk credit card processing - that her company was in the business of reviewing companies to lower their risk profile.  We have a CFO but she said she could ONLY would talk to me.   She began asking questions about our sales volume, average sale, etc.  I  asked what the purpose of her company was (how they made money) and she couldn't tell me!  I told her that there was no way I was going to start giving out information about my company to someone who could not properly identify themselves.  She finally gave up, and said she would note this in her files.

From everything I can tell, FTA is some kind of scam.  But I didn't stay on the phone long enough to find out what it is.

ANYONE calling me and claiming they want to talk about an account that does not exist, IS pulling a scam. If they want my business, they should not leave me fallacious phone messages.

Rick Graveson? LMAO! What an effing tomato can! I'm going to be in Arizona next month. I've been getting these calls myself at my gym and I found this site. THEY WONT STOP! Maybe I can "persuade" little Ricky to get me off their list. Someone called them punks, and now I am sure of it. -- See you in the HEAT - rc

This is the second time the FTA has called me, and the second time I've refused to "update my information" and asked to be taken off their list. "I'm sorry, that's not possible because we don't use lists." When I asked the rep to very clearly explain to me who the company was, what they do, and why I should care, she couldn't do it. She repeated the sound bytes she'd already thrown at me, and said, "Now, is that easy enough for you to understand?"

Their flashy website has pretty graphics, and a few pages of complete non-information and pointless filler.

The number they called from was 888-535-3515. Same one that's on their website.

Received a message from "Chris" calling from "FTA" about a "merchant account" asked for call back at (800) 323-1007 x 3869.  Usually any calls about a merchant account are sales calls trying to sell you credit card machines for your small business

Yeah, I keep getting calls at work from "The FTA."  Near as I can piece together, it's a third party scam to shop your merchant services account (credit card processing) to competing credit card machine services.  I guess they get a commission from your new provider if you switch.  It isn't impossible that you'll save money, but if you want to shop around your merchant account you can do that yourself with a few phone calls, rather than revealing your sales data to an opportunistic stranger calling from "The FTA."

They've called many times;  I've talked to them at length twice.  Both conversations were baffling and infuriating. The first time they called, I Googled "The FTA" as they were going through their opening pitch.  I stopped them when I couldn't find them in Google.  Think they came up on the third page.  Deeply suspicious, I interrupted the pitch and asked how "The FTA" actually makes money.  When they couldn't explain it, I knew I had a time-wasting solicitor on the phone.

Their mendacious pitch is that they are somehow empowered to improve the rating of my merchant account, and thus pay lower fees on credit card transactions.  Like some sort of credit agency.  Hey, that sounds great!  But then they start asking me lots of questions about my annual sales, my average transaction size, and on and on.  "Wait," I say, "My merchant account provider, Bank of America, already knows my annual sales and average transaction size with perfect precision.  Who the hell are you, and why should I give you this confidential information?"

That line of questioning unnerves them, and the conversation quickly turns farcical.  It's a cold sales call, and you must simply hang up the moment you hear the word "FTA."  They won't stop calling, though.  Depending on my mood, I either hang up or unspool a stream of profanity.

And by the way I got another call from them today.  This time it was a guy who said "yea I just missed her call, we've been playing phone tag" or something like that.  I tried telling him to get lost and that his company had been explicitly told 3-4 times to never ever call here again and he just went on his rant of "im not trying to sell you anything, we're not on a no call list" blah blah blah.  Every single time you tell them to stop calling you they immediately reply with some lie about "we're not trying to sell you anything".  These guys are the scum of the earth!

They actually offer a somewhat legit service, but are the sleaziest people you will ever deal with.  DO NOT SET UP A MEETING WITH THEM!  In the last 2 years they have been threatened by my CFO to never call our company on 2 different occasions, both times that lasted about 4 months.  Just got another phone call today wanting to speak with the CFO, when I told them she was on a family vacation in Rhode Island they claimed "this is an emergency and I will need you to give me her personal number". WTF!!!  I told them no chance in hell im giving my bosses personal number away for a sales call, then of course I got the response "we are not selling anything".  Bull S**t!  You want our business in order to make money off of us, yet this is not a sales call?   Of course after I hung up on them they immediately called back yelling "im not trying to sell you anything, i just need to speak with your CFO".  Needless to say they got hung up on again.

I keep getting calls from 800-323-1007.  This one left a message from someone named Eric from the FTA at ext 3859.  Last time he said his name was Michael Hamilton at the same extension.  Said he was a risk analyst regarding our merchant account.  When I asked him to tell me the name of the merchant that he is referring to he seemed nervous and could not give me a name.  I told him that I found it very odd that it would be so vital for my boss to return his call regarding our merchant carrier when he couldn't even give me the name of the carrier.  Tried to say he doesn't deal with that side of the business which is again odd to me when you are orignally saying you are calling directly about the merchant.  He swore it was not a sales call though. Total scam!

Received a call from FTA. My caller ID says 480-214-8749, but the message said to call 800-323-1007 x3808 for Brian Messer.  He says they are not a third party.  He says they are the top of the food chain, that all the third parties charge fees then just pass the transactions to them.  He says based on our low risk and our length of time accepting cards, we can just bypass the middle man and go directly to FTA.  They want to have me fax them copies of our merchant account statements (blacking out the account numbers is okay) to verify that we have had no chargebacks.  But I'm suspicious.  If they are the top of the food chain, then they should know our record is clean.  Now I'm glad I did this very quick web research to see who they are.  I don't think I'll be sending that fax.  BTW.  the fax number is 866-415-5031.

We apparently got a very insistent call from "Jamie" to discuss merchant accounts that should have been resolved in April.  Funny, because we have no merchant accounts as I understand them.  She asked to speak to the owner (me) and would provide no information to my assistant.  Clearly some kind of scam.

You're an idiot if you're a business owner who takes credit cards and thinks that you don't have a merchant account. I've had a credit card machine for my small business for 3 years now, and it is definitely functioning ONLY because I have a merchant account. That's what a merchant account does for you, it allows you to collect money with plastic. Anyway, I met with the sra for that FTA company and it saved me a couple hundred bucks a month on my processing fees. Yeah I had to install a new credit card machine but so what! It was worth it. How is it a scam if it saves you money? You tell me.
