I also got a call from these people. I was lucky to call DISH directly to confirm and found out that this a complete scam. I was on the phone with Dish and these guys on two separate speaker phones. I had the Dish customer service hearing the scammer on speaker phone. When he found out that I am on phone with Dish customer service the scammer hung up and disconnected the call. Please be careful. If you do get scammed, please make sure you change your Dish on-line USer ID and password, your 4 digit code and your security question.

To avoid being scammed, learn what Green Dot, Western Union, etc. are for. These services are NEVER to be used to send money to strangers. It's cash! No real business would ask you to use it. Caller ID can easily be faked. If you get a call from a company, tell them you'll call them back - from the phone book, back of credit card, or statement.
