Citibank starting calling us on the 2nd when it was due on the 1st even though there is a 10 day grace period, which I sometimes have to take advantage of.  They started calling several times a day until my husband asked them if they really had a grace period,  which they guy admitted they did. My husband then yelled and told him to leave us the hell alone until we were 11 days or more late. We never received another call

If Citi is calling your cell phone (not landline) without your consent, you can start a class action under the TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act).

I'm being represented by the IHateTelemarketers attorneys right now in a similar case. They are awesome and can stop these annoying telemarketing practices:

http://ihatetelemarketers.com

Highly recommend speaking with them if you're willing to be a class rep.

This number has been dialing my husband's pre-paid emergency cell phone, using up his minutes. No caller ID. A recording orders him to hold for a message from City Bank. We have no relation to any bank like this and we do not give out this phone number, so we assumed it's another version of Rachel from Account Services.

We, too, have been trying to deal with Citi and found it a ridiculous waste of time, effort and energy.  In our case it seems to be complicated by the fact that we pay Citi, we talk to Citi reps, but the mortgage is actually owned by Wells Fargo -- which was total news to us.  Why aren't we paying Wells Fargo, right?

Just one thing -- don't blame the President.  There are re-fi programs out there and many others have benefited from them.  Blame the banking/mortgage regulations, which are generally overseen by Congress, for having so many loop holes that the general public continues to pay the price while Senators and Representatives continue to bank huge campaign contributions from these mega-companies.

We're thinking about contacting the State of Virginia to see if we can get some answers re: whether state laws protect us from this kind of shell game.  Maybe you should try that in your state.  Good luck!

I am receiving constant harassing phone calls from this Citi Mortgage telemarketing number 800-366-3003 and 866-272-4749 and have been for 8 weeks now.  I have told them they have the wrong number!  They conceded and took me off the list.  They called again and again, etc.  I told them the person  -  they said they would stop -they still call multiple times every day.  If I answer the call there is nothing just silence or if they speak I tell them they have the wrong number and they hang up on me.

My experience with citi is pilot opposite, they restructured my loan and cut my payments literally in half after dropping it to 2% and putting on the end an amount that is non interest accruing and not making payments on, I was shocked as they shoved this what I think a great deal down my throat and gave much more than I asked for to begin with, that was a few years back, and when I ran into trouble again they had 3 options on the table to help again, they will call day and night and It is a pain in the butt, no one seems to know what u talked about with someone else, but in the end we got it done and they did want to help me!!!

They call constantly and by the time I finish my greeting (this is a company number they're calling) the line disconnects.  Today I recognized the number and picked up without saying anything.  After a moment I heard a click and could hear the sounds of a call center in the background but no one spoke.  I hung up on them at that point.  I think they are only targeting individuals and the system may be set to hang up when it hears certain phrases like "May I help you?"

It is happening at all of these big banks.  We have a mortgage with Bank of America.  We attempted to refinace for a lower rate.  They continued to ask for the same paper work over and over, for several months.  Until we became so frustrated, we just stopped dealing with them.  They were so bad at customer relations, we just could not take anymore.  After awhile we received a denile letter because we would not send the paper work, that we had already sent them three times,

My payment to Citi Mortgage is not late (15 day grace period) but we get a phone call every 4 hours. They spend a huge amount time with these phone calls it seems it would be more profitable to wait until the payment was actually late. I dont believe we have ever been"late" but we get the annoying phone calls. Thier success rate must appear to great considering most people recieving the phone calls do pay but they would anyway.

I have been called several times from this number. My wife and I like many here have attempted to get our interest rate lowered from our current 7.99% to something more inline with the going rate under the Obama plan, we have gotten the run around from Citi mortgage since last Sept 2012 and only after I had taken out a loan againgst my 401k plan to catch up on some back payments in hopes it would help move the process along for us to qualify for this modification. But to my surprise it did result was "You are denied" you are not in need of assistance. This was after many phone calls and correspondance thru emails and mail and the sending of multiple documents many of which was the same things they requested many times before. Now they have modified the loan to higher payments plus late fees. Citi mortgage effen sucks. Dont get a loan from them!!!!! They are the modern day loan sharks who prey on people and then take the taxpayers money to line their owns pockets.

They call when you are still in your grace period and not technically late. Even after you speak to them, if you can actually get a person on the other end of the line, they call again a few hours later.  We have complained to management and threatened to file a complaint with the BBB all to no avail they continue to harass us. They even suggested we apply for a loan modification and then they denied us so guess what they will continue to get their payments during the grace period.

I get repeated calls, in about 10 minute intervals from the 800-366-3003 number.  I have had multiple issues with CitiMortgage, and can identify with every issue listed here.  When I became disabled in 2008, I tried over and over again to get CitiMortgage to consider redoing the loan and they refused.  When the government finally forced these companies to deal fairly with those of us who were out of a job and did not want to walk away from our homes, we found a company in Indiana, Homesteading, who did a wonderful job of working with CitiMortgage, no matter how crappy they were to them or us.  However, in 2012 my husband died, and I found myself living on disability only.  My check comes in on the 2nd Wed. of every month.  My mortgage is due on the 1st of the month.  I live check to check, and then just barely.  They keep calling me, beginning on the 2nd, until my check shows as processed there.  They always suggest that I have it taken out electronically so they won't call. I tell them that I would do that if they will change the date to the 15th of the month.  They refuse.  They are rude, difficult to work with, and I wish that my other mortgage company had not sold my mortgage to them- they have the worst attitude about customer service of any company of any kind that I have ever dealt with.  All I can do is ignore them.

I DON'T have Citimortgage. So why would they call me? Also EVERY single time someone calls they speak in Spanish. I ask "do you speak English?" They say "No." So I get nowhere with them. I'm so annoyed! I just hang up the phone.

I managed to refi via Citimortgage under the HARP but it took 50 weeks. I recorded every call and let them know I was forwarding the recordings to the state AG office. Using several resources including some folks in the government I found out this about Citi. The whole corp is negotiating to be sold to a bank in Dubai. They are so involved in this that everything else is put aside. Employee turnover is huge. You are assigned a mortgage specialist...who usually knows nothing about finance. Many work from home. I went through 6 of them. Some quit. Couple got fired. One of their scams. .... since they are so far behind they will claim they never received your documents. They send out a UPS prepaid envelope to return stuff. Don't use it. Send anything USPS certified with signed return receipt. Why? If they then lie and say they didn't get it you can turn them over for mail fraud. Let them know what you are doing and why.

My mortgage is with CitiMortgage. I am usually late since I'm still unemployed, but have always made the payment before the end of the month...this weekend I got several calls, which I do ignore since so many 800-numbers are junk. Then I get a text msg. giving a #  (not this one) to call. I got so pissed, I called the # & asked the rep where he was located, he replied the Philippines.  I told him I will not discuss my mortgage account with anyone outside of the U.S., and if I need to talk to my mortgagor, I will call their U.S. office.  Then he asks for last 4 of my S.S. #, so he can note my account that I've arranged a pmt. online for this week, and I refuse, but I did give him my loan acct. #.  Then he says, "I've pulled up your account" but "can't note that you made a pmt b/c you won't give me your identifying info". I said, I just gave you my account number, that should identify me.  I told him to stop the calls & texts, and hung up.  Geesh. Now getting calls from this different number.  I say, don't answer calls from 800#'s you don't recognize, and if Citi has a problem with me - 1 year after a mod - they can officially notify me by snail mail.  I personally resent and object to foreign entities having any information about me or my personal accounts.
