they call several times a week asking for someone......lady sounds nice....but I have received dozens of these type calls over the past two years. Some days as many as 10-15. I owe no one any money....I have (thank goodness) no debts.....funny how they think other wise. I just let the answer machine do my work.
Six months ago I read : if you get calls like these....answer them; then hit the # key on your phone 10-15 times; this is suppose the do something to their automated calling routine they have programed. I did it on several that called the most .....took about 6 weeks of hitting the # key before the calls dryed up. Another trick is to answer the phone....say nothing...and lay the phone down....they will hang up after some time.
This really makes the mad. These people can't afford to keep a line open with no one talking to them. A friend of mine told me she were getting 30 plus calls a day......so she started answering the phone in a professional manner...told them to "HOLD ON A MINUTE" ( she never answered any questions) and then she put the phone down and walked away. She could hear them yelling at her after a minute or two.
They stopped calling so much...she is down to 1-2 calls a day now. She owes no one anything...has no idea who they are asking for.....but enjoys hearing their frustrations coming from the phone.
These people are scum bags that prey on older citizens or young adults that think "everyone is good".
Remember ...# # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # or just put the phone down. YOU CAN NOT REASON WITH THESE IDIOTS.

Please keep calling the FTC, pressure needs to be put on the company and someone "should be going" to jail. These people are thugs. Into a new derivitives scam and will be brought down. Their" target" is usually not known, but they don't care, they keep on harrassing. Send a cease and desist letter and forward it to the Attorney General, too.

Just got a call from this number looking for my daughter. The guy wouldn't tell me what it was about, but insisted my daughter knows (she doesn't). I agreed to take a message but pointed out that she won't return the call without any info. The guy said he'd just keep calling - and hung up on me.

I am keeping a log of their calls. They leave my name on an answering machine, not knowing if it is my number or not. They violate every line in the fair debot practices collection act. When I called back, she said to pay her now or they will sue me. It is in reference to my sons college loans, while he was serving as a Marine in Iraq. The message that I have kept, still on my answering machine, lists Debra at extension 14031, and a reference number. I am sharing this info with the attorney general, but will provide it as needed.

Over the past year, I have received numerous calls from this number, as well as mail from EOCCA. They are trying to reach someone unknown to me. Returning the mail stopped the calls for a few weeks. On 1/7/10, a message, also containing confidential information, was left. On 1/8, called 800-368-5417 & spoke with a pleasant & cooperative Melissa Bailey, requested my number be removed from their conact list. On 2/22, the same message was left. I called on 2/25 & spoke with Dave Martins, "the collections manager" with an attitude, who claimed to have no record of my phone number, any calls made to my home, or an employee named Melissa Bailey. Right!

Call received 8:45 am December 1, 2009. The message was trying to reach someone who is unknown. Continuing that after a three second pause, the number called is presumed to be person for whom a collection effort is being made. Then confidential information left on my answering machine. Called back after finishing my morning bath, a Scott Fox said EOCCA was completely legal in that the three second disclaimer had been made.
