I got hang-ups too. Called number back. It's a telemarketer doing fundraising. They claim technical problems result in the hang-ups. I doubt it. Most likely they have their auto-dialler connecting to too many numbers for their agents to handle....

Just got a call from 1-800-372-4735. I pay extra $$$ money to have my number unlisted and have call blocking, still get a lot of junk calls!!!? I'm quite sure some of the companies I use are selling their customers info to telemarketer, against their own privacy policy >:/ I don't answer unfamiliar calls no more, it's just sad!

Caller asks for my boss by first name and when I say "not available is there a message" the reply is always the same "no it is just a courtesy call"

He called again, same thing asks for my boss by name then says he will call back in the "morning" NOT TO SMART!

Just got a call from the same number --- looked the number up on google and found this address--- the person who called asked for my manager and when I told him that the manager was not availabe and asked him if he would like to leave a message he said his name is Mr. Daniels and then hung up the phone

Just called the 1-800-372-4742 # which is their customer service and she vry nicely told me that she would add my number to the do not call list, also, she said they work for over 500 charities.

Calls at our business which is very annoying, especially when I have a client. This call comes into our home as well at all hours, in the night is the most annoying. I have put this number into my number book under "hangup call" so I will not answer it again. Some people don't have much to do!!!

Just got a call from 1-800-372-4735 to my UNLISTED number (in Ottawa ON). I don't answer unfamiliar calls no more. I would be really surprised if those telemarketing companies are expecting anyone actually give their $$$ and/or credit card numbers to a stranger over the phone!!!????

It's AWE consulting in Hamilton. Their telemarketers are prisoners in Barton Street Jail in Hamilton. They phone for Shriner's Circus, Old Timer's Hockey, United Steel Worker's Basball legue. etc..etc.. The prisoners are not allowed to see your phone number or location. All the dialing is done on a time interval with a computer. If you get a call and nobody is there, that means the computer has dialed your number before the prisoner was finished with the previous caller.

I have phoned their number 20 times over the last year and they said my number will be removed from their list but it never is and they keep phoning. That is breaking the law so I am thinking of contacting the police and having formal charges made.

Phone Bell (310-bell) and they will give you a web site where you can request being taken off all telemarketing lists in Canada. It cuts the telemarketing calls in half so it's a good start. All those telemarketers from India and Pakistan are actually working for Bell so Bell will not block them. I actually had my phone line set up so only people in North America could call me and Bell took that away from me so their Indian tlemarketers can call me 5 times a day. I have no idea what they are saying.

I called the other number their recording provided and spoke with a very pleasant girl (I'm shocked). I asked what the company was, and she told me they are a tele-marketing company that does fundraising for various charities. I told her about the calls disconnecting, and she said it's a technical problem they're working on (ya, whatever...I've heard that from others of their ilk). To my surprise she actually asked me if I'd like to be put on the "do not call" list.
We'll see.

Sounded like a party going on in the background. They just hung up. I called back, got a recording saying they are currently making "fundraising efforts", but they never say who they are.

Call hung up without any sound/speech, about 3 seconds after I answered. The line had that 'flat' sound, with no background noise, that I usually hear just before an auto-dialler connects me to a tele-marketer. Or maybe they hung up just before I answered.
