I've never purchased anything from Circuit City, yet I keep getting calls from this #.  They never leave a message, always hang up when they get the answering machine.  Annoying!

This number has called several times this week. I always hang up without listening, but after a number of these calls I decided to call the number and got a Circuit City recording about buying a warranty. We are on the Do Not Call list and I have NEVER purchased a thing from Circuit City or its affiliates!  This is harassment and apparently has been going on for a long tie. They're almost out of business...die already Circuit City!

Why the F would I want to buy anything ever again, much less an extended warranty for future service, from a soon to be defunct BANKRUPT Circuit City? Suckit Sity is so incompetent that I called the 843-3489x7 number and requested removal from ANY future calls as other responders have, but I have started getting calls again. And I am plagued by these robo calls that I never answer around 1:30 pm everyday. Part of SS's "lets grab some last minute cash before we fold strategy?"

No wonder these monumental idiots are BK.

Re: Comment by Delta6 above (4 Sept):
"I called 1-800-843-2489 (x7) and asked that my phone number be deleted from their call list. The rep did so immediately, and apologized for the inconvenience. The rep was very nice about it".

*I did this ... and found the same ... it's probably the only way for it to stop. They say give it a couple days for the request to go through...they also ask if you want to be taken off alll communication (mail, surveys, etc).

These fools continue to call daily. The won't leave a message and sometimes they hang up in time so my machine doesn't record a "blank" message.

Other comments have mentioned being on the Do Not Call list. My experience is that being on the list doesn't matter at all. I've begun keeping a log of unwanted callers; most give up within 3 months or so. I wonder how many of these fools simply get new numbers so they can continue their annoying ways? You'd think they could find legitimate employment somewhere!

800-395-4377 called at 9:03 AM on 6/28, 1:30 PM on 6/29, 8:33 PM on 7/01, 9:19 AM on 7/02, 5:56 PM on 7/03, and 6:34 on 7/03.  Anyone found out a way to get them to stop?  Any phone numbers WE can call to 'return the favor'?  I am also on the DNC register for all the good that does...<groan>  If it is indeed Circuit City, they can have their damn card back with my compliments...

I received a letter thanking me for my recent purchase of an LCD TV with the offer of an extended warranty. I've never purchased anything from them. The phone number to call is the same 1-800-395-4377. It is an endless loop of automated messages.

We have also never purchased anything from Circuit City, nor will we ever. Despite being on the DNC Registry, these people persist in calling our home several times every day. I usually just pick up the receiver and hang up, but I have also told a live person repeatedly to stop calling my home. Since they are in violation of federal law, I have reported them to the FTC and the Ohio Attorny General's office.

I keep getting calls from this number, over and over for weeks, with no message ever left when my answering machine picks up; when I try to dial the number back, I get a recording that says I must first dial a 1 or area code before dialing this number...which is idiotic, since I dialed the 1 and 800 prefix.  AT&T is unable to help identify whose number it is, and will not investigate it as a nuisance call.  I started picking up the line each time they called, and each time it clicks and then goes silent, at last hanging up without a word.  Since most other posts identify this as Circuit City, it makes sense that they are trying yet again to sell me a warranty on my TV, which I've refused more than once.
I would suggest those of us tired of this kind of thing stop doing business with the companies that are responsible; I've made my last purchase at Circuit City, period.  Never again.

Telemarketer
It is truly no wonder that Circuit City is bankrupt.  They have the very worst customer service I have ever encountered.  I purchased a flat screen TV online, paid for the premium delivery, and then waited, weeks went by (it was supposed to be delivered in 3 business days.  My calls never got me anywhere, other than it would be shipped as soon as possible.  Then I received a message that they needed to "schedule" the delivery, which the earliest slot was 2 weeks away.  The staff were incredibly rude, one woman actually said, that we'll deal with this when we get around it, in reference to my credit.  I did cancel the order, and finally received a credit (weeks after that).

The idiots are now calling me, on a Saturday, every 30 minutes to sell me an extended warranty, on an item that I never bought, it was canceled.  So they don'thave internal records, their people are there to help, if it means that they make more money selling warranties, but if it's a customer issue, god bless you if you think your going to get help from Circuit.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!  They also told me today that they put in a note into the system regarding the warranty calls, but she told me that it would not necessarily stop the calls, I would have to keep calling in.  Can you believe that, they told me that I have to keep calling in, in order to stop them from calling me, on the weekend about a produt I never bought.  WOW, what a s*** company CC is.

BestBuy is great, their customer service is not the concierge at the Four Seasons, but they are competent and they have your information.

This number (800-395-4377) has been calling my home numerous times everyday for the last few weeks.  When I pick up the phone no one is there...the only sound I hear is a long tone.  My answering machine is filled with these sounds and I am becoming VERY IRATE over this matter.  I do not want to purchase any warranty from Circut City.  As a matter of fact, I may even return the television I bought due to this issue.  These calls must stop.

Have had several calls from 800-395-4377 but have not answered and they don't leave messages.  Apparently they continually call if you don't renew a warranty.  We have not bought anything recently from them but did have a warranty that is expiring on a Television.

Will follow Mike's advice and go to the website.
