I've had luck with calling the FTC (Federal Trade Commission).
I've reported every rogue call with time and date to them - after about 2-3 calls to the FTC - the other one dead stopped.

This was very apparent during the big " We'll install a home security system in your home for free" scam.
Matter-0-fact, I reported so many calls from different locations all over the country - I think they folded their
whole marketing operation... SHORTLY after weeks of this crap - I started getting calls about reducing my
student loan drastically - haven't been a student for 30 years...lol

Anyway, this works - be persistant - forward every call information to them.
Give this a try in your area.  Search google for the FTC line about reporting fruad.

These scammers spoofed (i.e., faked) the phone number of the local police station.

This number called me.  Told me that i needed to contact officer Don Rodgers at local police department.  Said they had a complaint filed against my name and my social security number.  Told me if i did not call him they would sent someone to arrest me.  Some how they made the call come from police station from the area i bought my phone.  The police department said they did not call me.  Scared me to death.

We are getting calls from this number as well. 1 800-396-2018. They have asked told and repeated to stop calling but yet they keep calling. Last caller got a bull horn. Calls Stopped.

B*****ds called this morning at 8:08, didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. It's Ameriloan and they so stupid they don't know their high dollar scam loans are illegal in NC. I hope they get sued out of business, cannot believe these thieves are allowed to set up shop and prey on the down and out.

Good point. Even if payday loans are legal in your state, if they are in violation of regulations, then you have a defense in court. For instance, in my state they must have a brick-n-mortar operation and most don't. Even if they do, they often charge too high of interest, too many fees, or loan far too much money. In most of these cases the debtor has already paid back more than the initial principal, and at least in my state that is all they are entitled to. Check out the laws in your state, and report the b*****ds.

In a lot of states these loans are illegal, even if you took out a loan if it is one of these states that is illegal you do not have to pay them back, they outlawed them because of the excessive interest rates and then they won't let you pay them in full at one time keep renewing to keep you indebted to them the rest of your life, do not ever borrow or take out a loan with any of these payday loan cos. they are not loaners they are sharkers. Say you got $250.00 you will pay back $1,000 if not more, do not go this route hope they outlaw them in every state. But check it out just type out illegal payday loan states, it will tell you which one's, they are adding on all the time. They can never operate in NC again but don't think they not been trying.

these scumbags also has another number its Ameriloan 888-601-4636. Called me 36 times in one month have written it all down, won't leave a message, I don't owe them anything. Called the attorney general they not going to do anything just tell me the same ole same ole, got call block, on the do not call register to only be told they can still get through so what a crock.

LOL Get a bull horn, or a whistle when you answer BLOW in their ear. Or if you have a partner , keep passing the phone back and forth to one another while the other person is talking. So many ways to goof with them. Good Luck!

This number calls once a day at the same time I have owned this number for 17 years.  they ask for John Brannigan, he must have gotten money from them using false info.  I have asked them to suck it up they lost thier money but stop calling me, that didn't work I have called them back and asked for John Brannigan.  I have given out their number on Facebook and alike to see if others will call and waste their time.

They started calling pretty much the day after I purchased this phone. Apparently, the person with the number had borrowed money..and had yet to pay it back. I have asked multiple times for them to stop calling me since I am not Carol nor do I know her. Did this again the other day..told the idiot I do not know Carol and I am not her. She then asked me if Carol was around. At that point, I hung up. My cat is brighter than these morons. They call multiple times from different numbers. It is complete harassment.

It is a form of extortion--send us money, or we will keep harassing you at home and at your place of employment until you do. Oh, and a few months later the extortion will start again. I am so glad that I never give out my cell number. I am thinking of getting rid of my landline. Changing numbers does not seem to work because you just inherit someone else's problems. I have never heard of a legitimate lawsuit against the debtor: they just keep shifting from one company to another. If you sue them, and get a judgement they disappear into the night like the cockroaches they are. The lady that got a 10 million dollar settlement has yet to get a dime out of these scuzzbags.

I have asked this company many times not to call me.

They have been calling me for the last 3 years! It is Ameriloan, an online PayDay company. My checking account was compromised back then and apparently whoever did it decided to take out a loan in my name with all of my information. Well, these people keep calling me, they wanted a police report. I sent them a certified letter from my attorney threatening legal action against them. They stopped calling for the longest time... Now, all of a sudden, my phone rings "Unknown". I answered it one time, they wanted to make sure they were talking to the right person, but they wouldn't tell me who they were until I told them who I was. Sorry lady, not happening. I don't know how to get rid of these people. This is ridiculous, 2-3 times a day, every single day of the week! Time to call my lawyer again I guess.

It's Ameriloan, I did get a loan from these dirtbags, and what they don't know I have already got in touch with the attorney general, and these loans are illegal in NC, so they need not waste their time, I was told to write them a letter telling them just that, and I have already paid them back just in interest alone back of this so they get no more. They are hateful and always some kind of weird music and laughter in the background sounds like they in a warehouse or foreign country, and hardly any of them speaks English, oh and I just got call block on my phone through my phone company, the do not call registry don't work, this does and its very affordable. Call your phone co and see what yours would be this saves you a lot of unwanted calls, they can call you once and after that all you have to do is call the call block nos. follow the prompts, I do it right then. Hope theres a lawsuit to take down these scammers.

They so annoying. They called me and wake me up this morning:/. The problem is they called me last night too asked for a person that I don't even know. I also told them u got  the wrong number and remove me from the caller list. But apparently they not going to stop and insisted that's the right one. I don't have any business with u and stop calling please. I also don't know who gave my number to u and keep bothering me. Pissed me off

The past 2 days a guy and a woman called my number wanting to talk to a girl named Bobby. They said they're from Ameriloan. I looked them up and they are a payday loan business. I've never heard of them and I've had my phone number for almost a year. This guy and woman were both very rude. I tried telling them I don't know anyone named Bobby but they kept interrupting me. I told them both that whoever this Bobby girl is, must have given them the wrong number.

THESE FOOLS NEED TO STO CALLING ME. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THEM PERIOD. I AM WITH PAYDAY LOAN DEBT ASSISTANCE AND THT IS THAT. THEY ARE A***S.

Well I just called them and it turns out they are a company called AmeriLoan.

It is the low lives at AmeriLoan.  Block the number or better yet, report it to the Attorney General's office.

They called me and I talked to one of their low lifes who stated I took out a loan with them, when I didn't.  I told them to mail me proof and all they kept saying is how do I want to settle a debt a did not incur.  The "supervisor" (extremely rude woman) told me that I would have to file a police report and send her a copy of it.  Right.  I am going to do this.  Instead I filed a report with the Consumer Rights division and the Attorney Generals office.  Now I just block their numbers.  They all need to rot in heck.

This company is called Ameriloan-payday- company. They are probably searching for the person who used your number &/or if the situation is you borrowed money from them ages ago. If the number calls again answer it to let them know they've reached the wrong person &/or set up payment arrangements to make sure they get something because they will absolulty  charge more interest and that loan of $250 you may have borrowed will now be up in the $1,200-$2,500 or more range the longer the account goes without payment so they will continually credit the account. But if it is wrong number you may have to continue to find ways via Internet or your phone company to change &/or block them from calling.

Just a debt collector.

They called and called and finally I got a live person to speak and said I had to pay over $12000 by phone or the US marshals would be picking me and my husband up on Friday this call was on a Wednesday. I told them I want proof of what your saying because we don't owe anyone that kind of money. I said we'll if you won't offer proof I will call them myself. They lady became very angry even making more threats. I called the attorney generals office and they verified by the number and the lady's name that it is most definitely a scam .
