Rec'd several calls (6-7) over past 2 wks.,of which 4 I've answered. Looking for someone not at this #, told them so, but still get calls for same person. Subject concerns a 'personal' matter, a.k.a. collection agency? Have asked each time to stop calling......Pooey.........

I had a bunch of calls from this number also - several a day for a week. A couple of them were the same thing: I said the person she was calling wasn't in and she asked my name. Told her if it wasn't me she was calling, my name was irrelevant to her (it was me they were calling, but I was screening my calls that day). Called it back a couple of days later, and the rep identified himself as calling from Macy's about my bill - which was slightly behind. I made a payment to him.....then started getting freaked out that I might have been scammed. Got hold of a different number for Macy's, which I KNEW was Macy's, and the rep there didn't verify the 800 # in question, but she did verify that the payment I made was posted to my account. Guess this is the long way of saying that the 800 # is legitimately from Macy's.

This number is the Credit collection department for Macy's and they are apparently only allowed to leave a vague message such as the one I received incidating that I need to call them at the number listed above regarding a personal business matter. I have asked them to remove my number and they have indicated that they would.

"Important business matter" - verified with Macy's that this is a legitimate number.

A woman named "Mrs. Reed" called about an "important business matter," looking for someone in the household who wasn't available. She only gave her last name and this number (no company, no purpose for the call) and said we needed to call her back that day. Then she asked for MY name even though she knew I wasn't the person she was looking for and I refused her the information.
Anyone know what's going on?
