Same story here. "Investigator" Moore called me and left a rambling message. I didn't call her back so she called my parents, my ex's parents, my work... I finally talked to her and she was very aggressive and said there would be felony charges. This, of course, freaked me out but after 2 minutes of googling I figured out she was just a repo man and was blowing smoke.

She called from a blocked number but she left 855-272-3711 as a call back number.

"investigator" Kathy Moore is a liar, fraud and an idiot. Don't believe anything she says. She called us 3 or 4 times a day. And she called my work 2 or 3 times a day and told my coworkers personal things. She threatened to have me arrested at my job and to take our personal references to court. She lies about everything. We have turned her in to the BBB, KS Attorney General and FTE. Turn her in.

"Investagator"Kathy Moore is such a joke, liar, idiot and so forth. She is just a used car lot worker. She yells and threatens but has no aurthority over anything. Had a call from a private investigator as she says. But she never informed about that. She pretended to have gotten a number from a friend and wanted me to color her hair. She had contacted ex at his work asking questions about me.. not sure of this is a scam or not.

I received threatening calls from a Katy Moore and a Kathy Moore. She said she has file a complaint against me and to call back asap to discuss the complaint or legal action would be taken. I searched the county court records and no one has filed any complaint against me. I searched and there is a Katy Moore and Kathy Moore that does Identity Theft, so she is searching for personal info to sell.  Hang up and don't return her calls. She is a scam artist. Dont give her your name or give her a fake name and fake info and waste her time if you have nothing to do.

She stated her name as private investigator Moore. She called off of a 855-272-5711. BEWARE. She changed her number. Probably to eliminate the risk of being caught. This lady was very rude and threatening to my family. When she didn't state a firm.. And she called from a blocked number .. I grew suspicious. She stated that we would have to appear in court and that causes anyone to grow afraid... Yet I am not surprised to hear that this is a scam.

This so called "detective" is a liar and slanderer. She is harassing because you are late on your car payments. She does not work for the bank and does not work for the police dept. she says that she works for the Altanta police dept, but that is false. She is trying to repo your vehicle because if she can get your car before you are able to catch up on your payments, she will collect $1500 per vehicle. She is just trying to scare you into turning in you car. She acts like you're committing a horrible crime, but debt is not a criminal offense. The police do not hunt you down, call your family and friends and flat out lie to them. She will make up all kinds of stories to rattle them into giving up information on you. She is a liar! She is breaking the law herself and can be sued. There are rule that collectors must follow and she is not! She will call your phone company posing as family to get access to your information. Call your cellphone provider and request that a passcode be placed on your acct. Keep a record of all of her harassing behavior and illegal activity.

Everyone falls on hard times, that doesn't make you a bad person. It's amazing that the bank that you actually owe the money to treats you better than this fraud. Try to get your affairs together and get caught up on your payment. Things will get better!

Also be aware, she will even try to send you a package from UPS marked gift. This "gift" cannot be delivered to a PO BOX so what she is trying to do is get you to reroute it to your physical address so she can pick up your car. She needs to be fired!

Good for you.. It does seem she step over the line with you. I actually worked for JDByrider 10+ years ago and must have repitubale repo agents. Even if you are a skip.(no contactable #'s) and they sent to her to search for you she is still misrepresenting herself. Even if this is the same lady I know, if I were you make sure you and your friend pursue this for your rights.

She is in the Middletown/Franklin area of Ohio. She has lived there for about 15 years at least. I would also send a complaint to Ohio Attty General and also make sure you contact JDBYRIDERS corporate offices in Indianapolis, IN.

I also dealt with this woman today. She is calling from a restricted number, but leaving a callback number of 855-272-5711. She called both me and my parents, representing herself as Investigator Moore. She stated that she has a "badge number" 1244 and an identification number 200721001172 through the Ohio Department of Public Safety. She told my parents that I was about to be arrested on felony charges, because I had missed some car payments. I called her back at the above phone number, and she also told me that she was going to file felony charges in 2 different counties and have my parents subpoenaed unless I turned over my car to her representative immediately. When I told her that I had already made arrangements to voluntarily surrender my car, she told me that wasn't a possibility anymore. It had already escalated into a criminal matter, and that charges would be filed by the end of the day. The only hope that I had of avoiding criminal charges being filed was to immediately surrender the car to one of her representatives.

Of course, when I surrender my car, I would like to be certain to follow proper procedure to make sure that the car is actually surrendered to the proper person. (I was already planning to turn it in to JD Byrider on Monday morning, as the finance office is located at the dealership. I certainly wasn't going to hand it over today to someone else, without knowing who they were and that it would make it back to the dealer.)

She became irate when I calmly asked her a few verification questions to confirm what company she worked for and what their contact information is. She screamed and told me that I "have no right to know that information and that there's no reason she needs to tell me the name of her company." She screamed that "no one ever asks her those questions, and if I wanted information from her then that clearly showed that I had no intent of resolving the issue." She told me that she was going to hang up on me and I might as well contact a criminal defense attorney, because I had lost my last chance at resolving the issue with her.

Again, I calmly replied that I had every intention of resolving this issue, but my understanding is that it should be handled as a civil matter, not a criminal matter. I calmly asked her what the criminal charges would be. She started screaming again that I was going to have 4 felony charges and an arrest warrant against me before the end of the day.  However, she refused to tell me what the specific charges would be.  She said that the finance company had the choice to pursue it as a criminal matter instead of a civil manner, and that the company wasn't interested in going through civil court. If I didn't answer the door in a half hour, she would have me arrested.

I knew that what she was saying didn't sound right, so immediately after she hung up on me I called my attorney friend to ask what (if any) charges she could file. He advised that in our state there were no criminal charges that she could file - it would be a civil matter only, and the extent of my liability would be for any past due payments, fees, or balances remaining on the loan. I have a financial obligation, which of course I already knew, but there are no criminal charges that could be filed.

Since the attorney is a friend, he offered to call Kathy Moore and speak with her. Boy, she sure changed her tune when speaking with an attorney. She completely denied ever mentioning criminal charges or being arrested. Despite the fact that she told at least 3 different people (myself and both of my parents) multiple times that I was on the verge of being arrested and charged with 4 felonies. She flat out lied to the attorney, because she knows that what she did was wrong.

I have already spoken with a representative from the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Private Investigator Security Guard Services division. This person confirmed that Kathy Moore was acting outside the scope of what she would be permitted to do under her license number in Ohio. Actually, they couldn't confirm that Kathy Moore was even licensed under the ID number she gave me. There is a company with that license number - Secured Investigative Services, LLC - but they weren't certain whether Kathy Moore was truly a representative of that company.

The representative from the Ohio Public Safety Department walked me through how to file a complaint on line and said that it would be investigated by the enforcement division.

My next step is to file a complaint with the state Attorney General's office for her clear violations of fair debt collection practices.

I absolutely understand that the matter of the car and car payments needs to be resolved with the finance company. However, that doesn't justify Kathy Moore's shady business practices. I will not be working with her on this issue - thankfully, my attorney friend handled that aspect of it. I will be working directly with JD Byrider/CNAC to take care of this, and "Investigator Moore" is no longer allowed to contact me or my family. Any further contact she wishes to have needs to go through my attorney - of course, I doubt that she'll be contacting him anymore, because she can't make outrageous threats and scream at him.

Wow .. I think I might now this person.. use to work with her at a collection agency.. Not sure if same person. I have not talked or seen her in 10+ years.. She might be working a repo person or working in conjuction with a repo company. Only thing I got to say is she can be heartless in reference to getting the money or assets.

I'm pretty sure this is the same woman.  I have been getting harassed by a DETECTIVE MOORE.  The number she is calling from though is 404-937-2975.  She is using all the same "terms and BS" she used with everyone else.  I was doing a search for her name and number and found this thread.  I know it is BS.

Kathy Moore has called me  my brother and sister in law threating to supena my mom on the where abouts of my ex husband. And my ex husband used me as a refernice for a car he got in ohio. My mother has demetia and can not remember what happend 5 minutes ago and my brother has 4 kids and my mom at his place and can not deal with another stress. Ok i got a car from jd byrider in glendale heights il in march. Since then they have been nothing more than pure o d hell. I was sick three weeks ago where i had to be hospitalized and was unable to make one of my payments due to me not working. I called to send all the paper work of my hospitilization (which they requested) they refused. I had a stroke which didnt allow me to walk or drive. So at this point they were harrasing my mom about this b***s*** car in which i told them to come get and they still have not. So i am now getting call from this so called PI Kathy Moore who is threatning to call all my refrences and my past employers which is just ridiculous. I started getting messages from this same woman 2 days ago, and she used the same phone number (888-702-7340) for me.  Everything that everyone else has said is the very same thing that she's done with me.  I've spoken with both of my attorneys and they've contacted her, so she won't be contacting me anymore, but I know someone like her has no boundaries and will continue to do underhanded b***s***.  My attorney advised me to contact the FTC and give as much information about her and my experience with her as possible...and to have any/all contacts that she's contacted to do the same.  You can find their info at www.ftc.gov, and the number I called was 877-382-4357.  When I contacted them, they suggested that each person that she's contacted put a fraud alert on their SS# by calling Equifax at 800-525-6285.  Anyone who knows me knows it's not my practice to call people out of their name, but this bi*** is outta f*ckin control...PERIOD.  I hope this helps.

Received a call from this "State Investigator Kathy Moore," same person asking about someone that I don't know, because they used a distant cousin of mine, who happens to have the same last name, on some application.  She left a message for me to call her back at 888-702-7340.  She called a second time and I was home to answer, but I informed her that I had no idea who she was looking for and that I had no info about my distant cousin.  I then asked her what state agency she worked for and she became rude and refused to give any info other than vague references to "State Investigator," "National Search," and "Homeland Security."  She became very upset and hung up, so I called her back.  She refused to talk to me other than to say that if I call her again she would file harassment charges against me.  Absolutely ridiculous that she would threaten to file charges for me calling the number that she left for me to call.  I need to know who to report her to, because she needs to be stopped.

OK.. Katy Moore just called me for my BF. All i know is she gets really upset when you challenge her regarding the legal procedure for filing any criminal charges. If you are looking for someone and u have all there information why are you calling anyone else on their contact list. IDK.. but she got the right one. I had my attorney sitting right here ready to file charges on her because she had no legal reason to run any of my information when i am not the person who owes on the vehicle.

Rcvd a voicemail from Investigator Kathy Moore on my cell phone stating that I needed to call her back immediately at 800-427-7193. She sounded pretty upset about something so I immediately called her back. She asked me who I was and told her and she said she was looking for someone named Karen Duval. Told her I didn't know that person. She said that she had me on an application as a reference. She told me where this lady used to live and work and that she needed to contact her immediately. She said she was going to go ahead and subpoena me in anyway. I asked her what the subpoena was for she said because she believes I know this person and that I am withholding information. I told her what she was claiming was BS and hung up on her. What she didn't know is that I already knew something was fishy when I heard my voicemail so I took 1 minute to look her up before I called her back and found sooo much information online. Thank god for the internet!! I called her again and ask her for her PI# and she said it was 2004. I said "OH REEAALLY?? Is that the best number you could think of??? For what county ma'am???" She said she didn't need to provide me with anything. She said she wouldn't be wasting her time. This person must be truly bored with their life.

She called me as well. She also called the mother of my son and said that she was going to charge me with an A felony. First of all grand theft auto carries up to a C at best. Unless it involves a homicide and or drug offense. Also she said that if our son was in th car that he was going to be in foster care. Even though what she is doing is unethical it is not ilegal to lie. I have not yet got to the point of asking for her info. By law if I ask she must provide. So in short I feel like she should maybe take a different aproach or at best be a little mor polite. Like the old saying you get more with honey then you do with vinegar.

Yep repo man. Or is it Scott or Nolen from Hill & Associates since Ms Kathy Moore's number is the same one that has called my 78 year old mother several times! They are located in Marietta GA and they don't have a license. When any of them are pinned down on the actual LAW...they get very hostile and break every item in the FDCPA.  

So Mr. Repo man, how's about every one files suit against Hill & Associates, Nolen, Scott and Kathy Moore and then when they have to pay $1000 for every infraction, then they may stop this bull and SHUT THEIR NASTY MOUTHS...Right Nolen and Scott....

Same thing here...called my parents, my 90 year old grandmother, and several other family members...never bothered calling MY house or phone, which is a published number.  Told them she was looking for me for grand theft auto and transporting stolen property across state lines (pertaining a car that I had told the finance company to come repo for THREE MONTHS and they never did, so they obviously had my address).  Had my parents worried and upset...what this dumb bi*** didn't know was I am in law school and work for an attorney so I knew this was complete crap...repossession is a civil matter, not a criminal unless you intentionally conceal the vehicle or have a writ from a judge to surrender the vehicle.  File a complaint with your state's Attorney General's office by completing the short form on you AG's website.

A female contacted me and identified herself as "Investigator Kathy Moore" and said she was a private investigator. She said she was investigating a criminal case about a vehicle someone had applied for using my name.  She identified herself as an investigator with the "Department of Public Safety".   Something didn't sit quite right, so I did a reverse look up of her phone number.  The lookup took me to several "hits" of her phone number:  1-800-427-7193.  I then called her back; she answered the phone.  I asked her the name of her company, and she asked me my name.  I informed her that she apparently already had the necessary information on me because she has been calling my house repeatedly. I told her that I needed to know who "she" was.   She refused to give any information and became very irrational and irate. She informed me that if I did not give her my name, she would hang up on me.  I then asked for some written documentation about what and who she was investigating, and she hung up on me.  I tried to call her right back to ask about her PI#, and the call went to her voice mail.   BE AWARE!!!  THIS PERSON MAY BE TRYING TO EXECUTE IDENTIFY THEFT!!!  A LEGITIMATE INVESTIGATOR  WOULD NOT GO BALLLISTIC AND HANG UP AND WOULD BE ABLE TO VERIFY HIS/HER INFORMATION.
