Yes, I had this same call. Was suspicious so called # on back of card and it was legit. Mine was a TD US Visa and, in the past, had been used at Target (could it be from this?). TD said that although no unauthorized purchases had yet been made they had inside info that my card HAD been duplicated. Anyhow, getting a new card. Always wise to not respond directly on your phone and double check through other means to verify the legitimacy of such phone calls

Not fraud lol.  not sure why you're posting that.

I received a call from this number today. Called the number on the back of my visa. they confirmed my td visa was compromised, and sent me a new card in the mail.  No loss occured, but it was a precaution on their end.

I had exactly the same experience and resolution last night.  The number is legit and TD Visa was checking on my card in particular because it showed up in a batch of compromised numbers that was provided to them by the police.  I am getting reissuance now and my old number has been cancelled.  A pain in the butt for sure but better than having a bunch of fradulent charges come down the pipe.

Just recieved a call from this number, i can verify it is a legitimate TD Visa number as i called the general number on the back of my card to confirm.

They asked me about a bunch of recent transactions on my card and the main one that the girl seemed to be concerned with was a charge through my paypal account, which I did make the purchase and recieve the item.

It might be a good idea to call TD Visa back when you get your new card and let them know that you are going to link it to your paypal account if that is your intention.

It's me again. I went to make a purchase today and my card was denied. I called into the TD number on the back and they said two days ago my card was compromised. They still don't recognize the 454-1023 number but I do need a new card. I'm unsure whether it is a scam or not, but I'm leaning towards it probably was. There were no unauthorized transactions, but it is still bothersome. They are sending a new card to a branch.

I called back the number to try and mess with them, but I was on hold for five minutes and I lost interest. They are not very good scammers if they don't have anyone on the other end to steal my info.

I received a call today from an automated caller. They had my name correct and my TD VISA type of card correct. They said my card may be compromised and they were sending out a new card right away. I had to stay on hold to talk with an agent. I was suspicious at this point and after two minutes of being on hold I called the number on the back of my VISA. They said the number was not their number and that no one had called me. They gave me my last three unposted transactions, all which were legit. I gave them the 800-454-1023 number that called me and they are having it reported to a supervisor.

I'm a little worried how the scammers got my name and card type, but not too worried, since no unauthorized charges have gone through.

Part of a fraud campaign targeting numerous financial institutions.  Note the pattern of shill postings all claiming the number is real - an obvious giveaway.

The large number of phony posts claiming the call is real come from some con artists spamming the site to try to fool people.  There is a similar pattern to other fake calls claiming to be from Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, US Bank, Wells Fargo, RBC, PayPal, etc. all with the same shill postings:

I got this call and was very suspicious at first too as it sounds like a Phishing scam. But it was TD. They didnt ask me for info they told me my name and address and my card had been used to book flights and hotels overseas. Somewhere some merchant obviously had been comprimized. I was able to confirm I was not flying in Arabic countires and my card was cancelled on the spot. The faud charges will be reversed and the scammer will not get his plane ride.

This was A USD VISA card. Oddly when looking on google this seems to be a target for scammers. I suspect a large US retailer database has been comprimized. Very likely someone with a call/processing center in India, Philipines etc. Most place practice this including TD themselves. Whats to stop employees from stealing databases?

Definitely not a scam.  Just call the number on the back of your card and check - my card was already deactivated so ignoring it wouldn't have done my any good anyways.

Yep, can verify it's legitimate. for the record, nothing beyond a very, very basic (read: postal code) identity verification is automated.

WOW this is not legit! but I'm going into a TD branch to double check.  I phoned my local branch and they said there is no way a lost prevention call would be automated.  He said I can go into a branch and get them to phone for me, to double check.

Just saw the call on my phone and let it go to voicemail. Automated voice message that they left for me sounded creepy so I called the number on the back of my card, rather than the number they called from, just to be sure. It is in fact a call from TD Loss prevention.

I received a call from 1-800-454-1023. It was a recording, claiming from TD Bank's loss prevention center and asking me to press any key to continue. I hung up and called TD to verify. It turned out that the number is real. Now I don't understand why TD would deliver a message this way. Don't they know that there are scams that could rob you if you press a key after picking up the phone?
