Just got a call from them.  I don't answer 800 numbers, just let it go to voice mail or ask if I can take a message.  I then googled the number.   Good to know it is a scam, I will answer and have some fun with them next time.   Oh yeah. They called at 8:52 pm pst. On a Sunday night.  Luckily they didn't wake my children up.

I just got a call from this number on a very bad connection.  When I first picked up I heard static, then dialing, then the indian voice on a very bad connection.  He said he was from Microsoft and had information about my computer.  When I tried to ask questions I got an echo and he kept overriding me.  I managed to blurt out the connection was bad and while he kept asking if I wanted him to call back on a better line, I just hung up.  Any Microsoft issue I had in the past has always been dealt with via email, and reading everyone else's stories confirms to me this is a scam.  I live in Cape Breton, Canada.

I just received a call from this number, and I usually don't answer calls from an 800 number.  However, I did this one, and no one was there.  I guess they expect you to hang on the line  until they come on.  Or, they are calling to see if it's a legit phone number.  Where do I report it?

This number was on my phone when i got home yesterday. I called it back to see what it was and to see if I could get off the caller list, but it said "the call cannot be completed as dialed". I am in Nova Scotia.

Just got a call from this number about 10 minutes ago- at 9:52.  I had just fallen asleep so I am vey upset.  I will be reporting this number.  I am from Alberta..

We just got a phone call from these guys as well. My husband answered the phone and he could barely hear them. They mentioned something about a computer, but he put them on hold and asked me about it and I told him I had no idea what it was about. So he hung up on them. Good thing too from what I've been reading!!

Just got a call from India telling me my computer operating system had a problem and I needed to go to my computer so they could solve it.

I just got the same call - from Comantra.  I told them to send me an email. If they know so much about me, they must have my email address too.

OH Ya forgot to mention I'm in Cape Breton Nova Scotia

Just got called by them. Agent said that there was malicious software on my computer that was detected when i did a survey. I've worked for Microsoft as a tech in the past. I asked the agent was the software that was detected spyware adware malware or a worm trojan or virus he just he repeated that there was malicious software on the system. I decided to have some fun with him. Decided to have some fun with the agent. Asked him how he knew there was malicious code on my system. He said that it had been detected when I had done a survey. So I then asked for the company that he represented.  He said he was an agent of Comantra. I then asked if he reaslized that by scanning my system without connect that they were breaking international laws against hacking and that I would be informing my Supervisor at microsoft that the Comantra company which he told me was a microsoft partner was breaking the law and there legal department should be contacted for breach of security which will lead to international warrants against all employees of the company. I then asked for his name and agent ID. WOW did he ever hang up quick

Didn't mention that I am from Alberta and that my computer is a Dell.  Which had microsoft nine installed that i had to uninstall, do to the fact that dell doesn't send the CD out for that program which has errors that come up.  You can't do upgrades without the CD.

I am from the UK and just received this call. I hung up, knew it was a scam straight away as my partner's parents had a similar call a few weeks ago. Wish I'd have wasted their time a little now and lead them down the garden path a bit!! Here's hoping they call back again, at least while I'm wasting their time they won't be scamming a poor old lady somewhere!

They phoned here yesterday. When I answered, there was no one there. I kept saying Hello and there was no response. So I called the number back that had shown up on our call display and it said the number "could not be completed as dialed." So I have no clue what it's all about it.

Just had call from these idiots.
They claimed to be from Microsoft, telling me that they were concerned about the security of my computer.
They wanted me to turn it on and give them some details to prevent being hacked into!
Said they were from India, but the phone had a bad echo, so God knows where thet really are based.

Had phone call from some guy on July 23, didn't get his name wanting to fix me PC, Asked which one!  Told him I have 3.  He said the one with Vista, thought it was a scam and hung up.  They called back 2 more times from the same #and didn't answer.  Then about an hour late called from an unlisted #.  Very pushy, said I was busy and couldn't get on my PC asked for a name and # so I could call him back, he told me my pc would crash in 12 to 15 hour, told him no!!!!!  He said he would call back in one hours time, never did call back. PC is still working.

I received a call from this number a couple of times. He asked for me by my full name. He said he was with Microsoft and that he had the solution to my computer problem. I told him I knew what the problem was and that it was in the shop. He then asked what it was going to cost me. He told me his name was Adam and gave me a phone number ( 281-31712) and said to call him when I get my computer back. DON'T THINK SO !!!!!!!!

I got several calls from this number over the last couple days.  They are very aggressive and completely unprofessional.  Do not do anything these people ask as they are scammers.

I got a call from this number today... I played dumb, insisted on me calling them back before going on Microfsoft to verify, they gave me a (fake) no. in India... after many questions he finally told me that all I have to do is give him a bank note and he could fix and secure my computer... I told him that he and the Sheiks in Arabia who left me millions on theyre will were the same and that i was going to report them... he yelled at me in a language I didnt understand, so I hung up...  BUT THEN... I got a call back, he was SCREAMING calling me a F... BI*** ! Should I worry?

My callers name was Martin.  He has called before a couple of months ago but that time I couldn't understand anything he was saying so I just hung up.  This time I let him say his speal and then told him I wasn't interested and then hung up. If you call the number back it won't go through, call cannot be completed as dialed.

I received a call from this number today running the same scam.  They gave me the name Omantra (you can find Comantra and other company names used for this scam on the itnernet).  They were really agressive when I started asking for information about their company, instead of accepting their "tech support".  Definitely a scam.

This number calls every day.. Asian accent....when I demanded his name - it was David McAllister... had to laugh.. as though people believe this stuff...  definitely overseas telemarketers.. this time it was duct cleaning.  Despite telling them every day to remove my name from the list, the calls keep coming.

Same as everyone else - very poor connection, caller with far east/asian accent, I could barely make out something about fixing my PC on behalf of Microsoft. Little does he know I don't use a microsoft OS on any PC! I just put the phone down until he stopped saying Hello...? hello ?

I received a call as well, in fact it was the third time.  The first call I could not understand what they were saying, I asked are you selling anything they said no and informed me that the application on my computer is corrupted.  They claim they have been hired by Microsoft to fix the Vista/Windows 7 issues.  They wanted me to log on to my computer.  They went as far as placing the Supervisor on the phone because I did not believe they were legitimate and the company name they provided was "Comantra"--I subsequently hung-up because the connection was lost!

They called me just now. Very bad phone connection. They kept asking for Mrs ****. I asked to be taken off their list. They kept asking me why. I explained I live here and there's no Mrs ****. They said okay and hung up. Very pushy. Sounds like the call came from overseas.

They called me today in Vancouver

Says I have a problem with my computer and they can fix it. They keep calling me and won't say who they are.
