Was getting them over 10 times a day, finally got so mad I called the number back and it was a recorded message. It had the option to remove my number.. Followed the prompts and hopefully this worked.. They are lucky they didn't get me on the line.. I was ready to talk to a lawyer for harassment . SO just call the number back and remove yourself.. good luck!

Thanks for sharing that info!  I get these calls about once a week.  I went to my online cell phone account and blocked this number (800 459 0835) but after a couple of weeks another number starts calling me.  Hopefully they'll stop soon once I've blocked them all???

Thx
:o)

2/22/12   I just got done reporting this and another repeat callers to the FCC.gov site over the phone.  The lady said these numbers are getting very bad for people and there will finally be some cracking down on them.  I told her about these numbers as these are getting worse and worse.  She filled out an entire form and submitted.

Oh, pressing a number to be removed from the list will probably not work, but get you more calls as now they know someone answers the phone.

1)  Call 1888-225-5322 This is the FCC reporting number  (before you go, research the number and make sure you have the latest number.  This was on their site on 6/22/12 - so you have a real location (M-F business hours till 5PM ish).

2) OR, go online to file a complaint:  http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

3) You must have some sort of tracking or caller id that keeps written record as you'll need some specifics.

4) You can give other sites where you research the number after they call to see who they are or what others are saying.

5)  If you do the form, or you call it in, you'll need to state that all is the truth, and you are not making any false claims.  This is serious stuff for us recipients of these awful calls that must stop now.

This damn number calls me every day and leaves a voicemail atleast once a week. I'm not going to answer it because I'm sure it will cost me money. It's so annoying. I can not have any debt if I have not invested in anything.

Even though they will settle the debt with you, the original company can still collect the remaining balance so be careful when you "settle" any debt.

Facebook inc trying to collect personal information (data mining). They sell it to companies like Intellus and People search for big $$. They even sell the lists to harassing cold calling companies that break the law. You didn't think that you get anything for free do you? If you signed up for Facebook then they wont stop.

This company has been plaguing me with automated calls aimed at someone of a totally different name. Once I answered and stayed on the line and indicated that there was no such person at my number, but they still keep pestering me.

Keep getting calls from an automated voice saying they need information to collect a debt. I've already asked to have my number removed form the list since it was obviously a wrong number. I then began to receive calls again a couple weeks later. They never state who they are wanting to speak to or what the debt is for.  Does anyone know what else I can do?

You can dispute this, just say your name and that's pretty much it. Do Not give them your current address because they don't need to know that, it's your privacy nor your current phone. They will say: "well we need this to send you a package for dispute" no that can be done over the phone and it takes few minutes/ This company is trying to collect old debts, over 5 years old. Don't be rude with them, but don't be nice either!

I get this message when the automated machine calls most days at 8:00am PDT on my company cell phone.  Very annoying, and I also don't think the National Do-Not-Call registry is working, as I have submitted this number to no avail.  I now feel the Nat. D-N-C registry is not a working solution, as these companies can get around this system.

Left this message: "Hello, this message is for blah, blah.  If you are not this person, please delete this message as it is not for you. This is "whomever" with Enhanced Recovery Corporation.  We are a collections agency attempting to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose.  Please contact me about this business matter at 800-459-0835 and provide the following reference number 15331464."

All bogus, because I now my financial situation very well  !!!

This is a bill collection agent that is BEYOND RUDE. I explained that the large amount she wanted me to pay, was out of the question... however I could make monthly payments of $100 - $150 until the debt was settled.

She got very belligerent and then started yelling "Good luck then. Good luck..."

So she calls me back the next day and leaves a message saying that she called the client, and wanted to talk to me about what they would like to do... I think "maybe they are willing to work with me..." so I call her back. She answers the phone saying "WHAT? WHAT DO YOU WANT? YOU NEED TO STOP CALLING AND HANGING UP ON ME." I was taken back, and she continued to yell at me until she said "I AM DONE." and hung up.

I am looking to find what the company is that she works for so that I can call and file a complaint against her. I have never been so angry, and have never wanted to hit a woman... but in her case I would make an exception.

The organization is MBNA, their client is Hilco, who employs a 3rd party, ERC. These scumbags use >50 different 1-800#s these are by far their most over-used numbers, so DO NOT ANSWR if you see an 800 # followed by any of these pre-fixes:459,474,493 473,497,403,586, 597,305,358,340,  383,630,658,657,  617. Most common one by far that I just let ring is 1-800-459-0395. The 'Do Not Call Registry is just really useless.

If I were a vindicative type, I'd consider getting an autodialer to not only clog their lines, but those phlegm would have to pay for all the calls :O)

If you use your unlisted phone # and call ANY : 1-800xxxx,1-866xxxx 1-877xxxx, 1-900 number, as they are the ones paying for your call, they (yes it's true) will
AUTOMATICALLY un-block or un-list your # (so much 4 paying xtra for privacy, and then SELL your number and any other demographic info they have collected, to other DATABASES. It's big bucks people.Reporting then hasn't helped as rules are only for law abiding people & companies. Not like the putrid slime known as MBNA / Hilco.

I got a call from this number 800 459 0835 claiming a collections agency requesting I pay a debt and stating to call back and provide my personal information to pay for this debt.  First of all I am NO debt so I immediately knew this was false. I am aware of scams, so if receive this number do not call them back and never release any personal information over the phone especially to a company you have no affiliation with. They may sound convincing, but that's what they want. Just don't pick up the call and don't call them back.

Very rude woman who hung up on me when I was explaining this is not a debt - it's a cancellation fee. Warranty ran out when I was in the hospital. Wrote 5 letters, sent numerous e-mails, spent 3 hours on phone trying to reconcile, but neither Sprint nor Motorola cared.  This is the 4th or 5th agency trying to collect debt (after a "paid in full" check was cashed for actual service rendered).   I haven't had a job for 2 years.  Thank you Obama.  As I was explaining this, she hung up on me.
