I and a friend of mine keep getting calls from this number, on a daily basis a few times a day! every time we try to call it back we both get a recorded message saying this toll free number has been disconnected!
| JM 2011-06-06 20:57:52 Unknown |
call their financial services and tell them to stop calling you. Their phone number is 800-283-2210 (won't tell you it is disconnected like the number they call you from) - another number for them is 866-413-3355. Maybe we should FLOOD them with telephone calls and let them know how it feels!

"North American Warranty" - 27 Jun 2008
They aren't a real business, just a scam. Your options are either to ignore the incoming call, answer and hang up to kill the ringing, or answer and mess with them. I like to mess with them if I'm bored and have the time.
If you wanna talk to Haley, call her back at 888-290-9711 x233. She's not as smart as she things she is, you can lie to her all day before she gets a clue. I had to explicity spell it out for her before she realized I was just messing with her. Kind of fun in a passive aggressive sort of way. I seriously think this is really the only recourse, just remember, you can hang up whenever you want.

PEOPLE. PEASE READ THE COMMENTS BEFORE POSTING!!!
YOU MAY THINK THAT SOMEONE FROM CALIFORNIA IS CALLING YOU.
THEY DID NOT.
SOME VICTIM'S PHONE NUMBER WAS SPOOFED ON A CALLER ID FOR A SCAM COMPANY.
Important message to all those that have received a call from this number:
The company making this call with an auto dialer is a known scam outfit. They spoofed phone numbers of victims all the time. Sometimes, they spoof non-working phone numbers. The phone number 619-582-3747 is just another victim of these scumbags. I've done a lot of research of this company. Actually, there are several affiliated companies, owned by the same people that try to scam innocent victims. One scam is about auto warranties. The other is about credit card debt relief. Their MO is the same. The use an auto dialer, and call thousands of random numbers. They have no regard to the do not call lists. Your demands or complaints are worthless. They will continue to call you.
They will not remove you from their call lists. Why? BECAUSE THEY DO NOT MAINTAIN ANY. THEY ARE CROOKS. THEY HAVE NO REGARD TO THE MANY LAWS THEY BREAK.
If they call about a car warranty, the message says something as "This is the second notice on your extended vehicle warranty. Press one now to speak to a representative..." The message about credit debt mentions "This is Account Services. We are calling to lower your credit card debt. Press one now to speak to a representative..."
Here are the details of these do***ebags:
Car Warranty Scam:
VP Marketing
4501 Circle 75 Parkway
Suite #A-1225
Atlanta GA 30339
Credit Card Scam:
Versadebt Corp.
4501 Circle 75 Parkway
Suite #A-1225
Atlanta GA 30339
To the best of my knowledge, their phone number is 678-238-1300 or 678-238-1351.
Both companies are listed with the Georgia Department of State. Here is how you can lookup their information: http://corp.sos.state.ga.us/corp/soskb/CSearch.asp
You will find that the "Registered Agent" for VP Marketing is Kelly Lonas, 224 Ripple Creek Drive, Marietta GA 30060. The listed "Member/Manager" is James A. Schoenholz at the 4501 Circle 75 Parkway address.
Versadebt's Registered Agent is the same James A. Schoenholz at the 4501 Circle 75 Parkway address. There is one additional name listed for Versadebt. The listed CEO, CFO, and Secretary is named Marvin Cox, Jr. at the same address.
Here are some links to prove my research:
Job listings for VP Marketing:
http://jobs.careerbuilder.com/jobseeker/jobs/ ... rchFrm&IPath=QA
http://www.careerbuilder.com/JobSeeker/Jobs/J ... 04608XQRG41KSPX
Interestingly, if you view these help wanted ads, you will notice that their address and phone number are different from what is listed with the Georgia Department of State. They now list 678-741-3188 as the phone number of Human Resources. IT IS PERFECTLY LEGAL TO CALL THEM AS THEY LISTED THEIR NUMBER IN A PUBLIC FORUM.
They also show a new address:
1820 Water Place Pkwy
Ste 255
Atlanta GA 30339
Here are some details from RipOff Report:
http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/312/RipOff0312307.htm
http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/301/ripoff0301144.htm
You can learn much more about these do***ebags by performing a web search for "versadebt," and "vp marketing," or "heather from account services."
Now, what can we do about this? You have two solutions:
1) Speak to a customer service representative. Pretend to be interested in either lowering your credit card interest rate or a car warranty. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY REAL INFORMATION. Give them a fake credit card number, a fake name, and a fake SS#. Tell them you own a Ferrari, or a 1937 Dodge (however, if you really own one of those two, tell them you own a Buick). Give a made up VIN number.
Your goal is simple. Keep them on the phone for as long as possible. Be friendly. Your goal is twofold. You want to learn as much as possible about them. They will refuse to give you a website, phone number, or maybe even company name. Keep pressing for info. You will need this (see below).
EVEN BETTER IS IF YOU CAN RECORD THE CALL.
Also, the time you take from them means them have less time to steal from someone who is unknowledgeable about their scams. They get paid to rip people off. Take away their time, and they make no money! I have kept them on the phone for up to 20 minutes!
Ever hear of Scambaiting? That is what you are doing!!! There are many entertaining web sites on this topic. For example, see http://www.419eater.com.
2) YOU MUST REPORT THEM TO THE AUTHORITIES:
FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION!
Here is the link to file a complaint: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION:
https://donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
You must also file a report with the Attorney General of your state. See the last link below to see how effective this can be.
I file complaints against Versadebt and VP Marketing every time I receive a call. If everyone that received a call from these low-life scumbags does the same, then the combined action of thousands of us can stop these crooks from scamming innocent people out of money. You may also try to write your congress person.

After searching here I've found they seem to jump from number to number selling auto warranties or your credit card is overdue or if we want auto insurance. If you try to call back any of the numbers they are always disconnected. Being on the DNC list makes no difference with them apparently. This is what I have found out so far. "As much as I believe many consumers overreact to situations, this is a true example of attempted identity theft. Thank you to the people above who have posted information regarding this scam. I too have received several phone calls from this number, and some which have been labeled unknown but stated they were from the same company.
Important Information:
A new name: "National Auto Warranty Services"
A new location: St. Louis, Missouri
In addition to the information posted above, please be aware of these details as well.
(I have heard them identify themselves as the other 8 names listed in the other posts on this site, and can also verify that information.)
Please report incidents that occur to local and federal authorities. If this fraud is to cease, the authorities will be the only ones who may bring about proper justice.
These phone calls are identity theft. I am concerned for individuals who actually give these people such information. If you have given these people your information, I would personally recommend changing any accounts, contacting local authorities, and specifically and most importantly reporting these events to the Federal Trade Commission. The number for the Federal Trade Commission Identity Theft Hotline is 1-877-382-4357.
Federal Trade Commission Identity Theft Hotline:

For those not aware, the FTC is a federal agency which does a very important and serious job at protecting consumers throughout the country. They will legitimately investigate complaints and work hard to stop and possibly bring action against fraudulent companies.

These people call every weekend, up to 10 times a day. They never leave a message. They ask for "Lawrence Kulp" or something to that effect... I am not him. Ever since I had my # changed in January 08 (it's June now) they have been calling. I used to just hang up on them. Then I would yell. One girl (although it sounds like the same girl every time) told me they were calling from India. No matter how nice I am they will not tell me what company they all calling from. I even explained that in America, when someone doesn't pay their phone bill (as in Mr. Kulp) their phone is disconnected and someone else gets their #. She assured me I would get no more calls. Every 2 hours today they've called.
When I find out what company they are calling from I'm going to be the biggest thorn in their side.

Dell Financial has had their fair share of complaints filed against them on this and many other websites for their unscrupulous collection and business practices:
CUOMO SUES DELL FOR FALSE ADVERTISING,FAILURE TO PROVIDE SERVICES, AND DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES
Lawsuit Seeks Restitution, Civil Penalties, and End of Deceptive Business Practices
Customers Were Pressured to Take Apart Their Own Computers Even After Paying for Onsite Repair Service
Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that his office has filed a lawsuit in Albany County Supreme Court against Dell, one of the world?s leading computer companies, and Dell Financial Services, LP (?DFS?), an affiliate that is a joint venture between Dell and CIT Bank, which offers financing to consumers for their Dell purchases. The lawsuit accuses Dell and DFS of engaging in a ?bait and switch? marketing strategy and failing to provide their customers with adequate customer service. It also charges Dell and DFS with perpetuating numerous other deceptive business practices relating to their technical support services, promotional financing, rebate offers, and billing and collection activity.
Attorney General Cuomo said, ?At Dell, customer service means no services at all. Dell?s consumers were intentionally misled, and they had to pay for that privilege. I hope this lawsuit sends a message to companies large and small that delivering a product is simply not enough; the promises they make must be delivered as well.?
According to papers the Attorney General filed in court, Dell deprived consumers of the technical support to which they were entitled under their warranty or service contract by:
repeatedly failing to provide consumers who purchased service contracts promising ?onsite? and expedited service with timely onsite repair;
pressuring consumers, including those who purchased service contracts promising ?next day onsite? repair, to remove the external cover of their computer and remove, reinstall, and manipulate hardware components;
discouraging consumers from seeking technical support; those who called Dell?s toll free number were subjected to long wait times, repeated transfers, and frequent disconnections;
using defective ?refurbished? parts or computers to repair or replace consumers? equipment.
The lawsuit accuses Dell of luring consumers to purchase its products with advertisements that offered attractive ?no interest? and/or ?no payment? financing promotions. In practice, however, the vast majority of consumers, even those with very good credit scores, were denied these deals. In a classic ?bait and switch? scheme, DFS instead offered consumers financing at high interest rates, which often exceed 20%. Dell and DFS frequently failed to clearly inform these consumers that they had not qualified for the promotional terms, leaving many to unwittingly finance their purchase at high interest rates.
The lawsuit also alleges that DFS incorrectly billed consumers on cancelled orders, returned merchandise, or accounts they did not authorize Dell to open, and then continually harassed these consumers with illegal billing and collection activity. Although many consumers repeatedly contacted Dell and/or DFS to advise them of the errors, DFS did not suspend its collection activity and Dell failed to expeditiously credit consumers? accounts, even after assuring consumers it would do so. As a result, many consumers have been subjected to harassing collection calls for months on end and have had their credit ratings harmed.
In filing the lawsuit, Cuomo seeks to require Dell and DFS to pay restitution to aggrieved consumers, pay civil penalties, and adopt measures to ensure that they do not engage in deceptive, illegal, and fraudulent practices in the future.
Consumers wishing to file complaints against Dell or Dell Financial Services should contact the Attorney General?s Consumer Help Line at (800) 771-7755. Consumers may also visit the Attorney General?s website at www.oag.state.ny.us or a www.NYAGDell.org.
This case is being handled by Assistant Attorney General Amy Schallop of the Consumer Frauds and Protection Bureau.

They also tried to rip off a family member of mine after she had paid off a debt settlement with them, claiming that "no such agreement had been made", and demanding $300. One of their collectors actually screamed at her, when she informed her that she was recording their phone conversation (which is legal in our State): "You can't do that!"
"Oh, YES I CAN", she was told and immediately hung up.
They only stopped calling after my family member threatened to turn them in to our State's AG's office.

It IS Dell Financial, and I can tell you they will NOT stop calling until your account is CURRENT. In one month I accidentally paid my bill short $3 (I paid $35 instead of the $38 that was due) I didn't realize my mistake until they called literally every 30 minutes, for 7 hours straight. Even though my husband and I BOTH talked to them, explained that we would pay the measily $3 on our next bill due, they kept calling because the "system automatically calls" when an account is considered "past due". We told them to note our account that we'd pay $3 next time around, and each time they said they would but we continued to get calls. I went online, sent a freakin payment of $3 just to stop the calls, and they STILL continued. When I questioned them about this, they claim that when an account goes into "past due status" then the past due amount PLUS THE CURRENT AMOUNT DUE is needed to be paid. So the calls CONTINUED until I paid the CURRENT amount, which wasn't even due for another 2 weeks! Trust me, the calls will NOT stop and you can bet your butt I will NEVER do business with Dell Financial again. We reported them to the Better Business Bureau for harrassment. Maybe everyone else should too.
