Just got my first call from 1-800-501-7759 this morning.  I answered and only got music.  Waited awhile and then hung-up!  I then went online to check out the number and find this!  Looking forward to the next time they call, lol!

I am receiving calls for these people on my cell phone for someone I dated 7 years ago. I didn't even have this cell # then. I am making one call to give them thunder, then I am blocking their number. But I agree, they should be prosecuted.

Got woken up by a call from this number...When I answered it, there was some sort of "on hold" type music going. So, I let it play for a little bit, hung up, googled the number. Won't be bothering to answer anything from them again, of course...I'm on the national DNC list, and this was my cell # that they rang.

This annoying number has been calling me for weeks now. Either they hang up when I answer, or ask for someone name Joseph...which I have no earthly idea who this person is. The last time they called I answer with good intent on cursing them the hell out, however there was hold music playing the entire time...about 1min 30sec total. Someone finally came to the phone with the same bs. I asked her was this a joke and she said no, so I rudely asked her not to call me again asking for this person or anyone else! Please beware..these stupid people have to be stopped.

i have been getting calls from this company " enhanced recovery company ' everyday for the past couple of weeks. i picked up one time and the lady said they were trying to collect a debt for dish network. i have not had dish for over 2 years and i cancelled after the contract was over and the bill was all payed up and i verified that with dish directly.  the lady said it was for the shipping cost of the equipment that i owed and it was $16.00. i informed her that dish sent me a prepaid shipping box that i returned the equipment in and if i was to pay shipping  why did they provide a prepaid shipping box.  i asked for validation of the bill by sending me a copy of my contract that states i will pay shipping, a copy of a bill dish sent me which i never recieved, a copy of any letters the collection agency sent me which i never recieved and a letter from dish showing that they hired the collection agency to collect a debt that i know i dont owe.  i also asked why after over 2 years are the just calling now and got no response and when i asked adress to send a certified letter with a money order for bill amount if i decided to pay it the lady said that i had to pay with credit card or debit card and i will not give anyone that info!

I use Skype for all my calls. It's cheap and you can click a number that calls and block them forever. Love it.

bogus call asking for my name

I got a call this morning and it was a recording. Said this is not a collection  agency nor a solicitor. Hey my friends and family say "hello" and don't prerecord their calls. What kind of scam is this? Said this call was for me and if this was me press blah blah blah. I hung up.

Dish Network Collection call.

I started receiving calls from 800 501-7759  about two weeks ago.  I didn't know who they were until I saw
the same number on this site.  I have had the same phone number for eight years and don't owe anyone
anything.  The ecomomy is in such bad shape and people are suffering and not able to pay some of their
bills so scum bags that take these jobs enjoy other peoples hardship.  They just dial numbers and i think
they must get a commission if they happen to get the right person.  But you are all right it's very annoying
and their should be a simple way to stop it.

Called the number back since they did not leave a message.  Got an automated voice which asked if I'd like to enter a phone number to be removed from their call list.  So I entered my number, she said she located the number in their list and would remove it.  Let's hope so!

I just got a call from them no message was left on my cell phone. The only debt i have is to GE capital and i am about to call them to find out if they sold my debt to them.

I just got a new phone number and I haven't given it to anyone, but it's listed. This number calls me nearly every day and I never answer it.

I receive these calls on my cell phone daily for about 3 weeks.  I called them back and it's ERC, whoever that is.  I don't have caller ID oh my home phone, so if it's a dead space call, then I hang up.

Just be sure you have caller ID and never answer calls from UNKNOWN CALLER  or UNAVAILABLE.

They leave automated music when I check my voicem
ail. They never identify themselves. Don't know who or what they are.

Purchase a call blocker for your phone.. There are several companies that make them. I have a Digitone Call blocker and you are able to block entire area codes if you wish. I personally have blocked all 800 prefix's. Sure works for me. I used to get calls all the time from these creeps looking for someone else and I got sick and tired of it. Best money that I have ever spent. Good luck and peace of mind.

See the post above from revenge on how to contact the company so they stop calling you.  The best way is to send a "cease and desist" letter to the name and address in that posting.  You can google for examples of cease and desist letters to use.  You will have to send it Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested to prove they have received your request.  If they continue to call after that you can sue for each call they make.

Have been getting a call from this number daily for months! It says "This message is for ---- ------." (Not me!) If you are not ----- ------, please hang up....." How can you stop them?

I answered the phone and got a dial tone. I called this number and was told it was a collection agency.

Those collector idiots have been calling me over the last eight years for a person I don't know. Somehow my phone number got on their data base. I moved from a foreign country to the US eight years ago, had never lived in the US before. I tracked down the callers, demanded to delete this phone number and they promised to do so, but after a few weeks those annoying calls start again.

Is there a way to sue those idiots?

These people are a SCAM!! they try to get you to admit you owe money. Don't do it. if you admit to it they have a legal right to sue you for it. They do not tell who they are collecting for. They do not usually have a correct name for the number they are calling. And it is illegal to make robo calls to collect a debt anyway. This is their complaint web site.

PERSONALLY I went to the complaint page and submitted it about 200 times. all I had to do was submit and hit the back button and re submit. Thought I would give them a taste of their own medicine.

Better read the rules yourself. The default window for phone calls begins at 08:00 every day, in the recipient's time zone.

A skip tracing agency *should* stop calling down a blind alley but often won't without a written order. The FDCPA permits collectors to assume you're a liar and keep trying until you give an answer they like. I've already linked to that discussion a few days ago.

You are. The FDCPA grants private right of action. There is plenty each of you can do with it, from the very first collection call and letter, before and during a lawsuit. While complaints with the FTC and attorneys general will help your fellow citizens and may get the very worst actors fined, there are no "Fair Debt Police" to swoop in and fight your battles.

The mere fact of receiving calls for the prior holder of your reassigned phone number does not make that person a "deadbeat". You don't know his story, and neither does ERC.
