Ha! I received the SAME exact email.  Funny how nothing seemed to be restricted and I JUST NOW saw the email had been sent A COUPLE OF WEEKS EARLIER...Morons.

I had the same email from "Regions Bank".  These people are idiots.  If you ever have any doubt, just mouse over any link provided (don't click on it) or, like in this instance, do a "reply" to the email (but don't actually reply) to see what email address it comes back with.  This one would have replied to qazwsxus@gmail.com.  Yeah, that looks like Regions Bank.  MORONS!

The email below was received.  I called the number and all it does is prompt you for your credit card number, expiration date and PIN number.  No matter what you put in, it says it "fails."  Of course, they now have all three pieces of information and will shortly begin emptying your account.  A legitimate bank would never ask for the expiration date or PIN because they always confirm your identity in other ways.

This is just a scam to get people's information so they can use it themselves.

It shows this phone number as being a mortgage company in Holyoke, MA.

That in an of itself seems shady

I just got an email claiming to be from Western Union about activating my card too.  I have no business with them either.  This number does not show up on Western Union's site.

I received an email claming to be from Western Union wanting me to call this number and activate my credit card.  I have no business with Western Union.

I received an email from Regions Bank at 9 am on Jan 3, 2009 - wanting me to call and give my debit card account and pin number. This is BS - called Regions and they do not send emails concerning accounts or request account information over the phone or email.

Did not receive a call, received an email claiming to be from Regions bank saying my card and my PIN have been restricted.  I don't have an account with Regions so this was a spam mail trying to get me to call this number.
