I was suppose to get 250.00 rebate for buying my maytag ref. wel I recieved this prepaid cii card . On bottom of letter says youcould be charged dffrent fees. I DO NOT WANT A CARD I WANTMY REBATE I have al my appliances maytag, have had for 50 years but will not be or long. I always thought maytag to bew a ok company and always taked up there products. But if this is the way they ar handeling things forget them. If you say you are going to get a rebate meaning money in hand not card that is misrepresentation. I will gladly advertize foryou and be sure let them know ofyour representation. If you say you are gong to do something DO IT. I will also go to my dealer here in Okla and advise them why tell people they will get a rebate when it is not true. card dor 100.00 s/b 250.00 doesn't add up Just send me my rebate. model #MF12569VEW2  S# K036893 76

This is the number for pre-paid visa rebate cards from Sears.  It's on the back of my card.

I received my $250. rebate (debit card) from Maytag, when I purchased a new dishwasher. It is from citi bank. I took the card to my bank to use, and they can not access the money. I've called the 800-522-7458 number, and got that same recording that will not allow me to talk to a real person. They tell me if I want to know the balance, I should punch in my account number. Not sure what to do now. Maybe call Maytag?

Hey! I received an email notification at work that read:
"Dear Douglas,

We're pleased to introduce you to your Rebate Visa(R) Prepaid Card; the fastest, most flexible way to receive and spend your incentive payments.

Your first payment(s) totaling $15.00 has already been deposited to your Visa Prepaid Card. These funds are immediately available for use once you receive your card.

Here's how it works: You will receive your Card within the next 7 to 10 business days. Once you receive your payment, you can use your Visa prepaid card as you see fit, up to your available balance.

When your card arrives, you can view your account balance and check the details of your payment(s) online. Simply refer to the website listed on the back of your card and follow these steps to register your account:

1. Enter the card number, CVV/security code and zip code that appears on your card carrier.
2. Select a username and password and confirm your profile information is accurate.
3. Submit your changes before visiting the "My Account" area of the site where you may track your future payment and transaction information.

Your card is good everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted worldwide. You'll have real-time access to your account information online (including balances, transaction history, and payment details). And you can get help 24/7, via the phone and online.

Your card is being mailed to you at the following address:

{Business address here}

If you have any questions regarding your card or if the address listed above is incorrect, please call 1-800-522-7458, or send an email to help@citiprepaid.com. In the meantime, please look for your card in the mail."

I spent the next 4 hours trying to figure out who ordered a prepaid card, and why I wasn't informed. It seemed like a strange scam, since it was addressed to the owner of the shop, and was being sent to our business address.

Turns out, it's a rebate card from a purchase I made on Newegg! I sent it out a month and a half ago, and completely forgot about it.

So this one is legit, at least :)

Same here, regarding the purchase of an Asus monitor. The rebate card appears legit and, in fact, upon purchasing my monitor, I remember reading that I'd soon receive a rebate card in the mail.

This appears to be a scam. They refused to tell me who issued the prepaid card, I demanded to know where they got my information and what the originating company was that told them to send me this card (some companies use services that look like this for legitimate rebate cards). I attempted to call this number and got a looping "We're sorry we are experiencing longer than normal hold times to speak to a live customer representative, please enter your account number followed by the pound key." There was no avenue to get to a live rep or even be put on hold to wait for one. I went to citiprepaid.com, clicked on their Privacy Policy, and got a page with this url: http://cdn.dsultra.com/t/privacy_ds.htm. It purports to be a "DomainSponsor" privacy policy, with an address in Los Angeles.

It is a scam. If you receive anything from this company, mark it as spam as they are not legitimate.

Also getting a card.  Note that the email I got asks for no information, except activation information (from the card).  I am pretty sure this is valid, likely my Asus rebate.

People be aware of this scammers ? this guys are calling and emailing people offering pre-paid VISA debit cards!

This is a scam ? a pre-paid ATM VISA card is the same thing you get from your bank at no cost ? They are hiding the ownership of the domain name and that roused my suspicions.

Who would want to deal with a government owned bank that stole billions from taxes payer is beyond me but never the less be aware?!

Emails are coming from Citi Prepaid Services | help@citiprepaid.com

Aside from all that to be blindly mass emailing people is so unethical is this, what US institutions have come to be?
