I'm glad I googled the phone number (1-900-551-5772)and found this site.  The person, saying his name was Mr. Far (sp?), left a message saying he was "following up" but didn't say what the issue was.  They're definitely on my disregard list.

They claim I owe $48.50 from my college that I graduated from in 1995 (UC Santa Cruz) even though my loans have been paid off since 1997.  I have never received any letters from UC Santa Cruz, even though I update my contact info with tthe alumni association regularly and have received the Alumni bulletin quarterly since I graduated.
Interestingly, on the voicemail, they only leave the long distance # for you to call back and then it seems all other agents are always busy and it asks you to leave a message with your social security number.
On the website, if you try to access your account, it also asks for your social security number, even though the letter does NOT have my social security number, but does have an account # and pin.
This seems to have scam written all over it!
I know I don't owe anything to my college.

They called claiming I owe the college I graduated from in 2005, $203 but couldn't tell me what it was from. I had a scholarship and never a student loan. Finally the guy on the other end said, "are you going to pay this or not" and tried to say the school had sent numerous letters. Except I receive friendly emails and Alumni magazines from the school!

they call on a regular basis. looking for someone with same last name as mine. they've been told a number of times they have the wrong number. still call. I don't answer if they are on caller id.
