my website: www.badmeds.com

I am an attorney that is researching issues related to companies sending extended auto warranties/vehicle service contract solicitation letters. If you have received such a letter, which included information about a vehicle that you own, or have owned in the past few years, that includes the actual make.model and year of your vehicle, please send me a copy of the letter. I am gathering info at this time for research only to outline all the companies doing this, and the states in which they have sent letters. I am investigating the source of the data that is used to make up the mailer. Please email any additional documents received, notes about any telephone call, and contact me. All information and discussions shall remain confidential. I have been posting this info for general info and as an Attorney advertisement.

In order for you to understand my interest/work, and to provide material for you to understand issues involved in these matters, I have included materials for your review below. I note though that most data obtained to use for the mailers by these companies are obtained from legal sources.

I would like to ask you what kind of lawyer uses gmail? I do not think I have EVER met a lawyer that does not have a web site, & proper email address'. You are asking people to send personal information to gmail, a free, web based email address. It could go anywhere in the world.

Got that official looking letter also... if it hadn't looked exactly like the one I received when my Kia had a recall for the tail light I wouldn't have opened it so very carefully per the instructions. Thia is a scam company that buys your information then tries to selll you a third party vendor so-called warranty. I say scam since a friend of mine actually purchased one from them nothing that ever went wrong was ever covered, if you don't get it approved prior to getting the work nndone they don't pay. In my opinion they never would pay for anything anyway, they have a laundry list of exclusions. I contacted the dealership that I purchased my vehicle from & they are contacting them to try to get them to stop. I already have an extended warranty that I purchased from my dealership, with them selling it I KNOW they'll take care of it right the first time because it's their money not this jokester. Stay smart, do your research

I received this letter in the mail about extending my warranty until 2018.  The cost would be $2800.00, I spoke with James at first and he went through everything and then I brought up the fact that I had purchased an extend warranty and I was confused that it expired already when I purchased it in 2011.  He then said let me get my boss Benny.  Benny answers and sounds just like James using a different voice. He then tells me the cost will be $2195.00 what I original paid.  I said ok let me call you back on Monday, he tells me that he cannot give me the $2195.00 on Monday it's only for right now to be able to extend my warranty (he then says till 2019, he didn't even know it's suppose to be until 2018).  He was getting irritated  because I said no not today, he kept baggering me to purchase so I hung up on him.  I checked with Honda and my warranty is still in place so this is a complete scam....Do not give any personal information and DO NOT call this number it's a complete scam and they need to be shut down.

Call this people just to piss them off today. Because I knew it was a scam. first they treat you so kindly and understanding, second they give you a breakdown and request a downpaymen of 350.00. Told them I did not have the money and I had to consult it with my wife and that, I'll call them back. He would not let me go!!! I gave him all kinds of excuses until he got mad put me on hold and transfered me to another person. I told this new guy that the other person was an a***ole and that I didi not wanted to deal with him anymore. And I hung up on him. They had the balls to call me back!!! from this number 1-636-542-6014 NRRM, LLC And I told them not to ever call me back again or I'll report them to the BBB.

Same here. Got an official looking letter. Red Flag was that neither the return address or company name is printed on the envelope.  I never called because I KNOW I already have extended coverage.

Please DO NOT CALL the number. DO NOT give any personal information.

I have no clue where they get the info but in my case it is not the DMV. I drive a car that is registered and owned by my daughter, who lives at a different address. Even the plates are in her name. They had the correct year, model, and make of the vehicle. Since I drive the vehicle I am on the insurance but that is the only thing on this vehicle related to me.

Do not give them any info, I am reporting them to the attorney general of KY....he who laughs last.............

I got the same letter in the mail. I thought something was fishy because I had already purchased the extended coverage when I purchased my truck. I must admit the letter looks very legit. It even comes with a flashy warning that reads- "obstructing the delivery of the letter will result in jail time". I decided to call the 1-800-587-3591 number to see what it was about. That was a mistake. I was getting tossed around from one guy to the next as no one could answer any questions and they didn't want me to leave. Everyone kept offering me better and better deals. At that point I realized I was being scammed. When I told them I was going to call back latter they tried hard to get me to give up my credit card number. They even said they would be willing to not make the payment until 45 days. I ended up just hanging the phone up on them. PEOPLE DO NOT BE FOOLED INTO GIVING THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you did- I would cancel your card immediately!

This number 800-587-3591 came in a fake letter, with not information  from who send it.
But you can see in the button of the letter. It will read  " vehicle Protection center  FL License # P036867.

I received an "important vehicle information" notice in the mail and to call 800-587-3591. I was confused because I had purchased an extended warranty when I bought my 2008 Honda Civic. I called the number and spoke with "James" and man are they pressure salesman. It's a scam. They will not let you off the phone without trying to get your credit card information.

I eventually hung up. DON"T CALL THIS NUMBER!!!!!

Received mailing and confirmed with dealership that scammers are searching DMV records because they are public.  There was only a phone number to call and no address, just Vehicle Warranty Center.  That sent a red flag to me also.  I posted a Letter to Editor in my local paper and will be forwarding this to the consumer fraud unit of my Attorney General's office here in Nevada

We got a letter in the mail that our warranty had expired on our 2010 Silverado. Which is funny because we no longer have it and we didn't own it to begin with. It was a lease car and we now have a 2012 Silverado. Sounds like a scam to me.

I also received a letter today from the Vehicle Protection Center. I bought my car last year
Very clever- same damn font as my car dealership but no legitimate contact information but a 1-800 phone number. Scammers are getting better every year. The question is how many people have fallen for it?
How do they get our information is what I want to know?
I won't call them but I'd love to get an address for this company and do a class action lawsuit against these b*****ds for harrassment and for falsification of information. Who's in?

Received a notice in the mail about my car and enrolling in extended warranty. Company is called Vehicle Protection Center.  These people were very pushy and will not take no for an answer.  They are not affiliated with your dealership or car make company.  While I had these people on the phone, I called my dealership on the other line and the dealership told me this was a scam.  Be careful, they want you to make a decision while they have you on the phone.

Got a mail for my Toyota extended warranty. Ask me to call this number to active my extended warranty.
1. This letter easily misleading people thought it is from Toyota corp.
2.  I actually already bought extended warranty when I bought my new Toyota last year. It made me worry if Toyota lost my extended warranty record, or I need to active it by calling this number.
3. I called. That guy is trying to avoiding my questions. Finally, I asked him if he is from Toyota. But, he still try not answer this question, until I asked him again.

I already report to Toytoa about this, and also confirm that I do confirm that my extended warranty is from Toyota corp, not from dealer itself, not from any other company. Toyota said they do not release customer information to outside, but they have no control on dealer. They forward my complain to dealer where I pushed my car, and request to remove my information if this deal does reassess my info to outside. Suppose, local dealer will contact me in 3 days.

Watch out on this. If this can happen to car, it can happen to any big item we bought. Example, refrigerator, iPhone, laptop, .lawn mower....... Who knows if they are really want to sale extended warrant or just try to get my credit cared information. Or, who know if this company will file chapter 11 after collect enough money, and run away.

I also received a letter from this company, it was a warranty extension for my honda pilot. I usually get emails from honda informing of any changes or offers so I think it is false due to the lack of information.

Received a mailed letter with all kinds of official looking verbiage like it was a recall notice. I did not call the phone number, but it is some sort of warranty extension for my Ford Fusion. Not sure if it is endorsed by Ford or if it is even reputable program or company. I would not use it based on the false official looking information on the envelope.
