2-15-18: My Mom died recently and I received calls today at both my home number and cell number from 1-800-604-5435.

In looking them up online, I saw that it stands for "Estate Information Services".

The message: "Hi, I'm Ashley and I'm trying to reach the person handling the business and financial matters for the late (my Mom's name). Please call 800-604-5435 and provide the reference #(6 digit number)."

I don't live with my Mom and I am married, so I don't know how they got my numbers. I was not listed as an emergency contact at the hospital where she died. My brother was.

An attorney in earlier post on here said EIS was hired by Capital One credit card company so I believe it's Credit card company bill collectors but don't know for sure.

Received call from a company asking about my late brother. They asked to speak to me, as if I was the executor of an estate or Will. They left their number as 1-800-604-5435. They left no company name or no message that they were collecting a debt. Amazing they were able to get my phone number, as I imagine they were contacting other people.  This is a disgrace for any company calling on someone who passed away. I for one will not call them back after reading other reports on this website.

They called about my Dad's death and said I had to help settle an estate claim.  No way my Dad had a claim because he was unable to do anything outside the home for the last 15 years.  KENDRA was the person I talked to and I told her I could not help as there was no will to settle.  She said they sent a letter to his address and it was the wrong address!   I suspected it was a scam and said she would have to work it out without me.     Phone number 1-800-604-5435  at extension 164.  They asked me to reference a 7 digit claim number, also.

I am constantly harassed by receiving calls from (800) 604-6543.  When I try to
call back the number, my attempt "flies into thin air."  I reach no one.
I did however, quickly answer two (2) of the calls when the number showed up
on my Caller ID.  Upon my answering the first time, the caller immediately
hung up on me.
On the second call I answered, I asked the male who was "at the other end"
what his name was.  He sputtered off something about some company's
name.  I said, "No, I want YOUR name!"  He responded that his name was
"Paul Frazier."
I warned him that the next call I ever receive from that number will be reported
by me to the F.C.C.
It certainly appears that there's something fishy about these calls.

I tried calling it back but it said it was unavailable to my calling area.

I think this is a scam, as I only had these calls start shortly after I was scammed by UnitedDirectLending.com . They were very unprofessional after they had my money and stated that it would take 30 days to get it back. I actually should be reporting it to the police now as it has been 30 days and I have not received my initial payment ($1200 - My entire paycheck) back yet after cancelling the loan.

DO NOT answer these calls. My guess is now that they stole my identity from the loan contracts they had me sign, and they have my number, they are just going to keep trying to scam me.

Report these calls to your local police department, as they are scams. Show them this posting. I will bookmark and post back when I have filed a police report with Halton Regional police.

I just got a call from TSBLADE but I did not take the call.  The number that they used was different from any I have read about here, it was 602-411-9181.  I have been getting a lot of numbers calling with Not Provide, Out of Area(with no number at all).  I have been looking these numbers that I do get in Google Main Page and it has always found the numbers, except this 602 number.  I am thinking it maybe a new number they have gotten.  I have made a list of all calls that I have numbers and names for, and emailed them to our Atty General.  I will keep the emails up until they do something about this BS

Received call on sat a.m. Recording referencing loss family member. I believe they said they were some state agency. Caller i.d said 614-452-8225 but instructed return call to go to 800-604-5435.  They also left a reference number for when i was supposed to call back.

Chalk me up as somebody else with a deceased relative - obviously, this is their scam.  I thank my lucky stars for CallerID so I don't inadvertently pick-up!

I have been receiving calls from 800-604-5435 daily.  The have used a name once, other than that they did give me a referrence number once, now the just say it is regarding the debt of a deceased relative.  I have called them, no answer, how do I get them to stop?

Happened again, they called and left no message.

they have called under two different phone numbers and 2 different names. Dont need the hassle of dealing with this after the loss of my husband of 53 years. Things are tough enough as it is.  And THERE WAS NO ESTATE,NO MONEY,NOTHING LEFT EXCEPT MEMORIES AND THEY CANT HAVE THOSE.

Brian...thanks for posting that.... my father recently passed and he left only debts. None of my sisters or brother co-signed anything and his 'estate' consist of a 1992 Buick & a second mortgage on the house. Turns out the house & the mortgage are about the same amount. Since I live here too, I decided to pay the mortgage but NOTHING ELSE. A Quitclaim Deed was notarized before he became ill but wasn't filed until after his death. I'm hoping that's not going to be a PROBLEM.  Anyway, I did call back and left a message and have not heard back from them. I did receive a letter from them though and I'm going to fax them a cease & desist order. Again, thanks for the info!!!

This company is not a scam.  They are a debt collection company who is hired by various companies to handle decedent estates.  I have only experienced the utmost professionalism from any and all of the employees that I have spoken with at the company.  If you are willing to take the time to be polite and upfront, they will more than willing to help.

I also did not get a ltelephone call but a letter saying I had indicated I was handling the affairs of a David Sumney and that they wanted a payment. The debt is to Citicorp.
I have no idea who David Sumney is. The letter also looks like it was photocopied several times. Where do these people get our names from?

I did not receive a call, but I did receive a computer generated letter from "Estate Information Services, LLC" stateing an unpaid credit card bill left by my deceased husband and they need "pertinent estate information" to file the claim, but to quickly further the process I can send a check for the outstanding amount to the following address 2323 Lake club Dr, # 300, Columbus Ohio 43232. The funny thing is, we had payment protection on the credit card was was pd in full one week before I got this letter. Everyone please beware of people trying to scam you out of you money and playing on your vulnerablity.

Got a call from this number yesterday. Today I reported these scam artist to the attorney general of Ohio. Maybe he can shut it down. I will be reporting them to the FTC after they tell me more about their call.

I am a financial advisor and have been helping out clients family after his mother passed. The debt was capital one and this company is a debt collector. the 800-604-5435 (or variation of) is an automated dialer. The 877-714-3739 was also the same company "Estate info services". just tell them there is no estate, but if there is an estate, direct them to call the attorney.
If the call dont stop, you need to fromally give them a cease and desist order by fax or mail, and they then call one more time and thats it!!!(I know the NY law, not sure if it is federal) If they try more than once, file a complaint with the FTC.

I get these calls as well, in a letter they claim they were hired by Discover card and were trying to collect a debt. I had told Discover card my deceased relative left no estate. These calls started shortly after I notified Discover card. So I too ignore the calls. Sometimes they leave a message other times they do not. You can tell them to stop calling and they have to, if you are not handling the estate for a deceased relative or there is no estate.

Since posting yesterday, four more calls.  On this last call, I answered just, "Hello," with a tone difference and a male voice asked if Mr. Buggs were there?  So, I explained that one more call from this number and I would turn over all the recordings and numbers to federal authorities on a basis of harassment.  I further explained that even after someone calling for Walter Buggs was told that we know no one with that name, the male voice caller said, "Actually, I was calling for Elmer Buggs."  

So folks I do believe this is a scam group, and the post above mentioning professional demeanor is probably someone from that group of highly suspicious nature.  

No need to be impolite with these callers, just contact law enforcement, record the calls, times, number and turnitin.  :)

Same number called, person once asked for a "Walter Buggs," to which I replied that no such person lives here.  There is no such person in my family either.  

If any of you get a name like that, could be this is quite a scam group. Could be legitimate as well, but when repeated calls from this number are responded to by me with, "Good morning, this is Cherri Brown, may I help you?" and then caller hangs up, I think rude, scam, ignorant, irresponsible.

its None of their Business and they have no business
knowing or getting any of it!
Its simply none of their business.
