I just got this phone call literally 5 minutes ago. I answered a short survey on military members in my family, if I had a college degree or not, if I shop with debit, check,or credit card, if I or anyone in my family has diabetes, and whether or not I own a home or rent. I answered the questions to see where this was going. All she asked of me was my name and Zip code, and what would be a good time of day to have someone contact me with further details. I told her the evening...thing is she called my cell phone and I don't receive service at home, jokes on her lol.
On the other hand though, I went to see a Fleetwood Mac concert a few years ago and at the venue they asked for your name, phone number, and email for a chance to win free concert tickets and other cool prizes. Figured it couldn't hurt and signed up. Some months later I was called by a man saying I had my name drawn from this venue and won a free cruise for two. All I had to do was come pick up the tickets in Columbus...the catch...was that I had to sit through a TIMESHARE seminar. Needless to say, I went with a friend and did, by the end of the speech and presentation, they tried their best to get me to purchase a time share. I stoof strong and refused, they had no choice but to give me the tickets. Now my parents have taken 2 cruises before and yes you have to pay taxes in your case they said $58 or $59 a person, I had to pay $50 for me and my friend. Unfortunately I paid the money (they took the exact amount out) but couldn't follow through with this cruise because of a family emergency. It was legit, so I have to wonder if these aren't similar situations or if you can offer to pay them through PAY PAL, that way they don't get your card number and they can only take the set amount you put in your account. Regardless, I understand thaty $100 is a lot to risk.

I got the same call, and I researched a similar 2 day cruise and it was the same total price, about $57 per person. So, you did not 'win' anything. They were just selling you the same thing you could have purchased online.

i got a call from the same number and same crap about how good the cruise will be and how good the food will be. when she mentioned about the $59 + $59 for the Bahamas port tax and i had to pay now to confirm my spot, i knew this was scam. so i told her i am in my garage working on my car and my hands are dirty so cant get my credit card. she asked me to call some one else to pull out my credit card from my pocket and give the number. when i told her that i will call back in an hour, she said i cant call her.....whet kind of a cruise company you cant call back. so i hung up and advice all to stay away from these free offers and never ever give your credit card number over phone.

Hi! I did a phone survey and then got a call from the said cruise line with an amazing offer for a free cruise...BUT only if I paid the government port taxes to reserve my cabin. At the same time, I was reading this article: http://kingkabuz.wordpress.com/2010/01/27/caribbean-cruise-line-scam/ which states it's a hoax and didn't give my personal information. The caller "Jennifer" passed me to "Melissa" the manager, who also tried to convince me, but then because I couldn't make a decision on the spot, told me they couldn't offer me this promotion. Not sure if I missed out on a great offer, but I'm sure that if I was real and I truly won, then I wouldn't have needed to "reserve" my spot with my credit card number!

I got a call today from Sharon Butchem about a survey my wife did 2 weeks ago, she gave the same song & dance from her script then fed me the $59 per person deal... when I told her the wife had the credit cards she got a bit rude telling me to go find an old credit card statement and just give her the info.  I suggested she conference my wife on with us, she did but got voicemail... she left a message with the wife saying "Maybe you can call me since your husband can't make a decision on his own."  I then told her to shove her trip scam & to get a life... stay away from this it's totally bogus

They called me the other day. I took their dumb survey, and won, of course. They sent me to their site to confirm it, and tried to get me to confirm stuff, and give them my cell phone and credit card number. Then today they called again. I hit disconnect so that it ended the call, and then I called back. After several rings, someone answered and said, "Hi, my name is Florence; how may I help you?" I hung up and checked on here. And, well, now I know that they're scammers.

Survey
Good afternoon folks,

I received an call from an unknown number at my workplace of a recorded message advising me if I just answer a few simple questions for a survey then I would win a free 2-day cruise to the Bahamas.  I completed the survey (which was very dumb by the way) and VOILA I won.

I was then immediately connected to a representative who wanted my name, city of origin, ZIP or postal code and email address for me to receive my confirmation of a boarding pass.  I asked her if there is any obligation to pay ANYTHING at all associated with this "free" cruise for 2 people; the answer was no - it's absolutely free.  She advised me I would be contacted by another representative within 48 hours to confirm the rest of the details.

5 days later I get another call at work but from a number 1-800-610-5257 from a person by the name of Florence.  She quickly speed reads through an obvious script of how wonderful the trip is, what is included up to 4 people and that it is $59 per person for government fees and taxes.  As soon as I advise her that I don't have the money on a debit or credit card, she isn't pleasant anymore and told me this offer is on a 1st come 1st serve basis.  I told the rep when I was initial called I was told I did not have to pay anything and their company should be up front about ANY costs from the 1st call.

In conclusion, I believe it is a scam.  No 2 day cruise to anywhere would only cost $118.  Impossible.
Final thought, if it sounds to good to be true, then its not real.

Good luck :)

I received a call from a company Survey Claim and I was asked 9 easy questions and then I won a Caribbean Cruise.

Later, I got the call from 1 800 610 5257 and a recorded message said to call back. I called it, and an agent asked advertised a lot about the trip and the food and how excellent it is. Then she told me to secure the trip, I only have to pay 59$+59$ governmental departure tax for two person. She said I have to give him my credit card number.

I asked if there was any way I could comfirm this before paying the said ammount, she said no, I then asked if I could goto a travel agent of some sort and pay by debit because I had no credit card, she said no and that I was lieing about not having a credit card. I then said I'd have to look into tihs futhur before I comit to anything and she said this is my only chance to get it at this low price and next time I call it will be back at regular price.

I then said please cancel it thank you, she asks why and I said "I cannot confirm your company is real nor if this is a scam or not so I am going to have to pass on it."

She asured me this was the real deal and it was not a scam and reminded me again that this speical offer is only for this call. Once again she attempted to presure me into blindly buying 59+59 secure fees for 2 people. I said this is a scam nice try havea nice day and hung up.

I then researched simlar websites to the one she told me to goto and one I found on google, both websites are look different but the video testimoies on both sites are the same.

This is what I was looking at during that call, information about cruise line scams which fit the botton.

I received a call from a company Survey Claim and I was asked 9 easy questions and then I won a free 2 days and 2 nights cruise!

Later, I got the call from 8006105257 and a recorded message told me to call this number. I called it, and an agent asked me for my phone number (I was calling them by Skype) and after I gave him my phone, he knew all the stuff about me. He advertised a lot about the trip and the food and how excellent it is. Then he told me to secure the trip, I only have to pay 59$+59$ governmental departure tax for two person. He said I have to give him my credit card number. I hesitated because I never give this information over the phone. I told him I have to hang up, do some research, and call them back, but he told me that once I get disconnected, I lose the offer and they will pass it to someone else. After 15 min talking to him, I said I have to pass, and immediately he connected me to his "supervisor"!

She also tried to assure me that this is not a scam and I also talked to her for 5 min and then I hung up.

Why would they be so insisting to give me something this valuable! They can talk on the phone with me for 20 min, but I can not hang up, do some research and call them back!

Same Situation.. I knew it was a scam right away.  we put it on speakerphone at work... and listened to the guy try get the credit card number as best he could.

same thing though activation fee, and no travel to florida included obviously tipped it off.  Plus let's be realistic how many companies give out free stuff of that value for filling a stupid survey.

I receive a call promoting a cuirse provided I did a survey.

After doing the servey I received a call for this number to which I couldn't call from my area.

I googled the Company, and then followed different numbers.

I got to a number 1 800 441 6858, after being given some details about my winnings, i was then given two bombs to show this was to good to be true.

The first, I had to come up with the activation fee right away, second Air Fair was not covered.
