I got suckered in back in February for $141 by a similar story.  The next day I cancelled my credit card and took other steps to protect my personal information.  They called occasionally after that and I hung up on them.  Recently they have started calling me, saying the government told them to refund my money.  But then they demand that I turn on my computer.  At that point I say," forget it and don't call me again!"  Their harassment has continued every few days.  Yesterday "Shaun" said he would call me every day, even during the night, but he would stop if I sent him $100.  Can you imagine??    I suspect that they only want my new credit card or other info.  Trusting them was a stupid mistake on my part, but I am determined not to compound my loss.  Beware!

In June, a woman with a South Asian accent claiming to be from Windows Support Center called to inform me that my computer was in danger of crashing. She knew my name. I let her access to the computer. and she showed me all the "errors"  that were in the computer. She offered a service to clean up the errors. I told her that I was not interested in subscribing to her service. Soon afterwards, a man with a similar accent called me and tried to convince me that my computer was about to crash. (Note: I recently had problems with a very slow computer). I finally weakened and allowed him to access to the computer and paid 311 USD for a service that was supposed to be good for all current and new computers; additionally,  I would not have to renew Norton which was up for renewal at that time. He installed a Microsoft Windows Essentials and  Advanced Window Care2 ( which I later see can be installed for free). Ironically, unlike some of the others who fell for this scam and got no results, the computer did and dose operate much faster. The credit card payment went to NIAS Business Solutions. Just recently, I got more calls from these guys claiming that more attacks on my computer are present. When I called the number the original man left me, he stated that these others were not from his services and were hackers. When I let him in to view if there was any damage, he claimed that the payment that I had originally made had not been received. When I checked my statement, it had been paid by me. He tried to get me to pay another 249USD ( a reduced rate, he claimed). I refused, we argued. I called the credit card company and she assured me that the original payment had been received by NIAS. He said that he would check with his accountants and would call me again in 24hrs. That's when I decided to check on line and found this post. In short, I will not allow any more of these callers access to my computer, nor will I stay on the phone with them

Same what happened here...got scammed by NIAS E BUSINESS for 300$ and the worst thing is that they have totally messed my data, pictures and documents and they also do change everybody's settings on their computer and can get access as well whenever they want and would damage your operating system which was not before NIAS worked and once they take your credit card number they can take more money whenever they want because they r the biggest scammers ever but eventually I investigated on this and found that the real 1-800-624-6021 belongs to www.cybercoolies.com  and this is a genuine company and they are into proper business and all their technicians have their own extensions, emails, customer database and CyberCoolies never asks for credit card numbers for any type of payment. It is all on a written invoice. So I talked to them and also got my computer fixed properly although I got only 150$ refunded by my bank but if you are a victim of NIAS you just need to change one software and they can never get access to your computer nor you would be facing any error or virus or slow performance issues...You can have advice on this from a cybercoolies technician, they are truly the best people to provide proper advice...

Later called my Mastercard to ensure they did not process it,but they had already completed it ..names  used,Lisa,Andy and James Smith ..I am so pissed as I don't do any online banking because of scams !!I have not idea why I would give my information..just thought they would help me with hotmail  --NIAS  or URPC Care stay away from these companies or should I say ghost company .The guy would not give me a mailing address as I said I would contact the police he than gave me a phony address

My experience with this outfit was the same except I got a call the next day saying that a mistake had been made and my computer was still covered by Microsoft warranties. I was further informed that the company could not issue a refund check, that it would have to go through Western Union to get my money back. He then proceeded to talk me through the process, but it quickly became apparent that he was trying to get me to reveal information about my bank account so that he could take money out. Needless to say, I refused to give that information out, at which point the caller hung up. I called the support number and was told by a very apologetic "John" that there was a thief in his company and that he would find out who it was. I also asked for a refund, which was initially promised; when I followed up however, I was told that refunds were only granted within 14 days of signing up for the service. A final irony was that I got a second call from this company telling me I was due a refund. His name, he said, is Victor Daveesh, in case anyone out there has had the same experience. These guys cheated me out of $249 which I tried to recover through my bank, but was unable to due to the fact that they had made some changes to my computer. This has been a tough lesson for me; I don't have $249 to throw away like this. Isn't there something we can do to stop other people from being cheated?

Same thing just happened to me, caller informed me that he was from Microsoft Maintenance & could see that I was having problems/ numerous errors with my computer (I think everyone has problems/ errors), said my computer was going to crash, I would loose everything....panic & fear set in so I fell for the scam.  Luckily I paid with my credit card, reported the fraud & the charges are being reversed.  New credit card is coming, called the credit bureau & reported that I have been a 'victim of identity theft', also I need to take my computer to a professional' now to review any damages....wow, can't believe I fell for this scam...... a scary & almost expensive lesson!

I have just finished logging the phone call I received from who I thought to be a Windows Technical Support Team on Saturday 7th July right in the middle of the Wimbledon Ladies Final !!  Well done Serena Williams. My experience with NIAS is almost a carbon copy of yours Tomb although I spoke to EDWARD SMITH  and my technician was ALAN PARKER. After 15-20 minutes I was asked to make a payment of, in my case £96.00 -coverted from dollars!! Payment was declined so he insisted I phone the 24-hour helpline on my visa card whilst he stayed on the line.As the department I needed was closed I was told I could try again on Sunday but when I explained this to ALAN PARKER he put ALICE WATSON on the line. She then talked me through a Paypal transaction even though I told her I did not have a Paypal account, obviously this was also declined. ALICE WATSON said not to phone my bank until ALAN PARKER phoned me at 11.0am sharp on Monday morning. ALAN PARKER then said I was to leave the computer for him to finish checking. Monday morning my bank called to say two transactions, one in INDIA had been declined and my card blocked as they suspected this was a scam/fraud for a company called NIAS. When ALAN PARKER phoned just after mid-day I told him I was not happy with the situation and would not be paying. He immediately put ALICE WATSON on the line and she was definitely not happy. I explained that so far this year I have been made redundant, had a relationship breakdown and was now coping with the bereavement of my Mother. She ranted on about my computer not being covered for security; the work must be completed; I could pay by instalments; millions of Windows users have been contacted, so why was I not happy. When I finally managed to get a word in edgeways I asked if the work had been done yet and was told no, it would be activated when payment had been accepted!!!  When I said that if millions of Windows users are all paying a minimum of £96.00 then NIAS is making an awful lot of money from naive people like myself  whose computers are for their own everyday personal use and are probably working adequetly without any problems there was a heavy sigh, distant mumbled conversations and after approx 30 seconds the line went dead. I have cancelled my bank card and was hoping not to hear from EDWARD SMITH, ALAN PARKER  or ALICE  WATSON ever again, however, when I checked the last call to my phone today it was from the same number as Saturday's call '01922'. There is usually a long pause before someone speaks when the call is from an overseas call centre, but in future I will hang up, especially after reading so many complaints. I may be 64 years old but I am not too old to learn by my own mistakes.

This isn't the service provider as we are the owner and the user of 800-624-6021 and we are getting lot many calls from different customers, different regions and mostly all of them have different service provider such as  we got email from a U.K based customer scammed by Nias e-business solutions. This fraud organization is continuously scamming customers (randomly picked) and providing our toll free to get support. We are taking legal steps however,we cannot stop these scam calls but still we are trying to spread this information as much as we can.If anyone gets a call from Nias please don't encourage them also call 1-800-624-6021 to CYBERCOOLIES technical supportor log onto www.cybercoolies.com for further information.

I'm an IT guy and here's my question out to those who have been affected: My in-laws got hit with the same situation.

Are you folks on a complete internet-phone package with AT&T? If so, I'm thinking they got hacked. I'm still trying to solve the how they had both pieces of information. The only thing I can come up with is they hit their customer base and since it's the same device that provides phone and internet, they had to have full access within AT&T's infrastructure (ISP in my scenario...hopefully my theory isn't correct).

Please post on here your provider to help some troubleshooting...it may be a bigger level problem than "random calling"

Got the same call a week or so ago and again this am, half asleep and thought it must be the real deal so got on the computer and took the bait for the 5 year plan but my cc would not go thru. They did the same go ahead and leave your computer and we will fix it and call again Monday am to get payment. Well I googled them, found these notes and cancelled the credit card and will turn off the computer Monday morning. Did anyone ever say if they can still get access to the computer?? Sorry you weren't so lucky to get away without paying. Lessons learned by all. We need to be so on the lookout these days.

Exactly the same thing happened to me with the way this company scams, first they ring on the phone saying that they are Micro soft technicians they are going to help fix all the problems, but need you to turn your computer on,  ha, that's when they get access, fooling you into putting all your personal bank details into the computer and more monies for added security- I paid £149.00 for two years, but on the computer it showed in U S dollars $239.35 bells stared to ring.( I really don,t like putting my details on the internet ) firstly after filling in the pay form the bank declined payment, man was still on the phone promoting me through all this, told him this and then he said it dos,not matter they will carry on anyway and will ring back. computer keep on going through  but stooped shortly. Bank informed me of transfer on my account but after  checking out NIAS BUSINESS SOLUTION, cause my bank let me know who they where. I had to stop payment and cancelled my card  so can they see every thing on my computer?

Just got worked over by NAIS e-Business Soultion. Exactly like what happened to HARRASSED. They called me on the phone (knew my last name) and stated they were from Microsoft Maintenance and said my computer was going to crash. Turns out they had called a week prior to this and my nephew hung up on them.
I was considering having some irritating issues taken care of on my computer soon anyways. So when they called and said that they were Microsoft Maintainance and they were going to fix my computer and they just needed to get access to it and they would fix it for me...they even knew the problems I was having....strange isn't it? I thought they were from Microsoft and allowed them to take over my computer remotely. After working on it about 15-20 minutes, all of a sudden I get told that I need to make them a payment of $139 and they would then complete fixing everything and I would have security through them and that I do not need any type of antivirus because they would take care of it all from now on...for a service period of 3 years. This service period would cover all of the households computers & laptops no matter how many I had with this one payment.
English was broken real badly. Guy on the phone said that his name was Edward Petterson (couldn't even pronounce his own last name) and computer screen was showing that the "TECH"  that was working on my computer his name was PETER PARKER! By the time these red flags were popping up they were already in my computer and were telling me that if they got out without fixing the problem that my computer would crash suddenly and surely.
They did nothing to fix my computer. I watched what they were doing on the monitor. They did a 100% full audit of my CPU and everything it has ever processed. They ran a Defrag program, and shortly after my payment cleared they shut my computer down without letting the Defrag process complete! They said that this Maintenance Process would take their tech about 2 hrs to complete and to just go away from the computer and come back in about 2hrs and it will all be done. Ten minutes after making payment my computer was shut down in the middle of a Defrag. I seen them select SHUT COMPUTER DOWN!
My bank can't get their Fraud Dept. involved because I granted them access to my account...even though they fraudulently said they were from Microsoft. So my only recourse is to dispute the charges as they didn't provide the service that they sold me. We'll see how this goes. They also wanted me to access my email account so that they could "CLEAN IT UP TOO..." This I refused.
This is causing me a bunch of compounded problems right now. I'll have to get them all fixed and my computer too. They also said that they were changing my IP address...don't know how they were going to do that.
You ever get cold called with a scam like this, simply tell the caller to send you some information in the mail...if they are a real company then maybe they will.
Funny...Spider Man was my favorite Super Hero when I was growing up...now I'd like to put him in a reverse naked choke and make him tap!

Got a call from 800-624-6021 claiming they were from Microsoft  (*would not give me name of his company) and tried to sell me plan to service my Microsoft problems.  Told me I'm not interested, but they just kept on call me anyway, one person in particular, Daniel, keeps calling me trying to get me let me into my computer and sell me a service plan.  There is also someone else claiming to be from Microsoft Maintenance (NIAS E BUSINESS SOLUTION) who kept harassing me and wore me down  because every time they called they kept saying my computer was about to crash and not being computer savy I let him into my computer and was pushed into buying a service plan at $210.00 before they would take care of the viruses in the computer.  They did nothing and they refused to give me their phone number or a receipt for my money, the name of the people the contract is with etc.  They called me one time after that and I asked for my money back, they got very angry and told me their Finance Manager would call me back about refund and he never did.  I only found out they were from NIAS because it showed up on my charge statement.  I am having my bank dispute the charge, but it looks like eventually I will have lost $210.00 - live and learn the hard way.

They tried to tell me they were calling from Microsoft and started trying to ask me questions about my computer and who serviced it.  The English was so poor along with the person coughing and bird chirping in the background that it gave it all away immediately.
