A guy named Rick collins called stating he was a private investigator for a private firm, have myself or my attorney call him at the above number???
I do believe he is lying and from some sort of collection agency??? Has anyone else expierenced this?

A man named Rick Collins called my sister and 2 friends saying he was a private investigator and i was in big trouble for internet fraud.

A ladie that was was very hard to read told me to call her back at that number or have my lawyer call them back too.  I figure it is fake or a collection agency because I had one go to a lawyer's office and they must state who they are with.

Had a message on my machine telling me to call or have my attorney call. When I called they kept transferring me to another person (3 times) each one said that i was in trouble and that there was a red flag on my account. I finally spoke with rick collins and he told me that a checking acount was overdrawn over a year ago and if I didn't want him to press federal charges I had to pay with a card $548 by the end of the month (10 days). I tried to make payment arrangements for the 4th of next month and he said he couldn't do that. I needed to find a way to come up with the money. I panicked went to work crying and took my once in a lifetime allowed draw. Then called the bank he said he was representing. They had never heard of him and said account was sold to united credit recovery. Mr. Collins works for Great Lakes Asset Management co. . Still investigating. I borrowed money from cashnet usa years ago, but have long since paid that off. Still fighting them on that one. So I guess I'm still lost in what I can do. If official I want to make payments, but concerned this is a big scam.

a guy named kevin called from ext 127 and stated that a person i don't know better call him back today for a statement!  who are these people?  why hasn't someone shut these hoodlums down!!

i got a call from  the 800-658-1094 ext 118, they said i owed a balance which is tru, so i ended up payin it, a few months down the road, i get a call from some guy named rick sayin that this company was a fraud, but that was after i had already paid it off, how do i get all this straightened out?? i really need to clear it all up!!

These maniacs supposedly a legal firm representing Cashnet USA have called me about 30 times in less than 5 minutes.  Threatening, asking for supervisor, asking for HR, calling me names and never, ever sending anything in writing.  They know the address, they can send any legitimate claim in the mail.  They say they will, but never do, so they must not have a leg to stand on and just hope that they can intimidate enough until I or someone like me will give in.  This so-called debt, if it's what I think it is, was paid years ago.  Clearly they are not from any legal firm, but from some scumbag collections agency that does not know the law or chooses to ignore it.

Hey, these fools called my mom stating they were going to send my CASE to the county, in which i no longer live in. Yes, i owe this debt and will pay for it in good time, they scared my mother like crazy, i had to inform her that these are thier tactics, in which the make people pay, and the balance i owe is through cashnet usa. And, they had the nerve to tell my mom to tell me, that they would settle .....a***oles!

800-658-1094 ext 117 called and left a message asking for our lawyer to contact him in regards to a matter he cannot devulge.  Looked up the # and it belongs to CASH NET USA, LOCATED AT 7510 PORTER RD., NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304-1692.  THEY CONTINUALLY HARRASS, SEND THEM A CEASE AND DETEST LETTER LEGALLY THAT SHOULD SHUT THEM UP.

received a call from them at work which i hate when people call me at work don't they understand that when you are at work you can't be answering personal calls any ways Mr. Duke (i think that's how you spell it) left me a voice mail saying that it was regarding an urgent matter and that i need it to contact his office.

I got a call from 800.658.1094 saying there was a claim against me on 11 April '08. I called back and refused to give my name without information about who they were - I did give them the phone number they called (my home) so got the details - an overdraft on my bank account 2 years ago. I called the bank and the account no does not exist and they have no record of me owing them anything. I asked for a letter to that effect but they sazid wait and see what Great Lakes does. I called them back (ext 128) and told them the bank had no record and under OR law they had 5 days to put it all in writing - she "of course they don't have records, they gave them to us" and hung up on me. I have contacted the OR Attorney General's office and filed a formal complaint. I may do the same with the NY AG as well.

I got a call from them 2 days ago  she was theating my husband so I told her I would talk to him and call back. I called back that night and she wasn't there she called just a little bit ago I answered the phone and kept saying hi I guess she couldn't hear me but I could still hear her and she started theatning me. so I have ben trying to call the number back

I kept getting calls from 1-800-658-1094 and one day I called them back because a man left a very threating message and using words like; court of federal law; breach of contract; law suit; arrested; get a lawyer; and, "Due to the confidentiality I can't devuldge the nature of this call; but yet he leaves such a scary message I thought it was for me, but, in fact, when I a women answered and told me that their office has several agencies and she wanted to know who called, but there was no name to mention but a number, but before I mentioned who I was she already knew (I'm assuming caller ID) and she asked if I knew of a person and if that person was related to me and I said yes, but that I have nothing to do with his personal life to please stop calling my home and leaving such awful messages, but she questioned if I had contact with said person, but I continued to inform this women to stop calling as I don't have anything to do with siad person's personal life, but just yesterday, 04/09/08, I came home for lunch and I get this message on my home phone with even a worse threat, so I call again and the same women answered and I began to inform her to stop calling as I called once before, but she put me on hold for five minutes or so because she said she was going to transfer me to someone, but I wasn't transferred and it sounded like she was listening in.  I eventually hung up because I had to leave, but my husband called back and informed them to stop calling when she questioned my husband's relationship to the person they were looking for, so he told her that it didn't matter as to his relationship as he is requesting them to stop calling and she insisted on asking my husband the same questioned so my husband raised his voice and repeated the request and hung up.  Not but a few minutes later my phone rings (the number is blocked) my husband answers it and says hello, when a man immediately says, "Hey, why don't you talk to me like you talked to my secretary!" He did not identify himself or the company, but immediately kept antangonizing my husband repeatedly so my husband became upset exchanged a few choice words, but I took the phone from my husband and the man started in on me with, "Sir, sir, let me speak with your wife, sir."  I kept telling him I was the wife, but he kept saying "Sir" and that's when I told him that he was being deliberate in antagonizing and harrassing us.  He said that my husband was rude and that he had my husband on a recorder and he insisted that I put my husband back on the phone, but I informed him that we simply wanted his agency to stop calling, but he became erratic and unreasonalble and angry and insisted that put my husband back on the phone, but I informed him that I too am a professional debt collector and that he was in violation of the FDCPA and requested that he identify himself and with that he said he was the "Sheriff" (the funny thing was that last time I called they were an agency of lawyers and then that changed to an agency of investigators).  Anyway, I told him who I worked for and gave the name to my employer, but he still woulndn't state who he was except that he was the Sheriff in an arrogant cocky manner and he mocked me, but never gave his name or the company he worked for.  I requested that a family member in my home call the Sheriff's office as he claimed he was the Sheriff, he laughed and mocked me again.  When we finally got a hold of the Sheriff's he finally hung up the phone.  I made report with the local police just the same.
People out there, the FDCPA is a federal law and no matter where the collection agencies are calling from within the US they CAN NOT communicate with you in such a manner and they CAN NOT mislead their identity especially as an official of the state!  PLEASE REPORT ANY MISLEADING FALSE REPRESENTATION TO YOUR ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE.  They can not represent you, but they will look into the matter.  You don't have to even listen to the caller as I did, but my purpose is to report such agencies to the law as it is ILLEGAL and it suprises me to this day that these type of people are running these agencies as if they are above the law. They do this in part to mislead people and frighten and threaten for the sake of money you probably don't really owe.  There is a guideline proceedure all collection agencies follow per the FDCPA because it is there to protect the consumer as well as the creditor.  Should you get any call from a collection agency ask them to identify the creditor they are collecting for and also call the creditor to verify if in fact your account was transferred and see if you can work out a deal with the orginator of the debt, often times they just might work out a deal and no longer work with a collection agency such as the one I described.  Not all collector's are bad as I am a collector myself and do not believe in such a practise.

my aunt recieved a call from investigator brown from x 117 asking for me and alot of other questions. He told her I had breached a contrat with cashnet usa, and was going to be prosecuted.
I called him back, and he then told me he was from the federal trade commission and was investigating Idenity theft. He said a loan of 135 dollars was taken out in my name and asked did I know anything about it. These people are full of s***, they are liars I looked up their number on google and found this site. They are crooks and liars.

Hello, i have been contacted and threatened with arrest and cursed at by these people. They just called me up out of the blue and accused me of owing $212.50 to cashnetusa---WELL i never heard of cashnetusa or great lakes asset management before. They are looking for a person with the same name as me who lives in my area. When i called them back and asked for the address they would not give it to me. The guy i was transferred to cursed at me, called me deadbeat among other things. (Google is your friend) It took me about 2 minites to find this website and get the address. Wonder what would happen if everyone here called them 10 times a day for a month? HMMMM??
 These people need to put out of business.

The company tried and tell me that If I made a complaint against them that I would be opening a can of worms because I would be complaining against the law. I did the complaint anyway

I pissed them off today. They called my grandmother telling her about the balanced I owed and that if I dont pay they would bring a class action lawsuit against me. They told me that they were investegators and that if I tried to file a complaint against them then Im opening a can of worms because I would be filing a complaint against a law officer. The guy tried and cuss me out because I called the office back and told them I filed a complaint against them.

Just send those a** holes a Cease and Desist letter I did and they stopped the calling right away they are a bunch of dumb butts....

"Mr. Duke" sounds threatening but it's good to see it's all smoke and mirrors.  He claimed so-and-so was being investigated for fraud and also asked for an attorney or the person to give him a call.  He gave a probably false filing number with the county, which he probably guessed at based on the area code.

Never, ever get a loan through CashNetUSA!  It was a one-time, desperation thing getting a loan from them.  We paid them back almost immediately and almost a year ago, and they kept taking money out of the checking account through which we paid them until we had to close it.  Crooks.

PS These guys arnt Sprint lol so dont think thats who they are if it says 0 and your thinking its spring Hang up on them.. I'll never speak to those scumbags anymore... If they try and call me well there looking for trouble I sent them a Cease and desist letter and I hope they call me again cause according to the law if they continue to hurass me after I sent the letter you can sue them for hurassment and or the amount there after you for... I had agreed to pay these scumbags but I told them $30 amonth and they first stated that was ok my origanal amout I owed was $250.00 then they tried to ask me for $375.00 and wanted me to pay $180.00 twice and said no amonth later to the $30.00 I agreed to pay them per month they refused to let me pay $30.00 per month i'm sending them a Cease and desist letter you can send that to them and they have to respond to it if they dont respond and they continue to hurass you.. .You can sue them for hurassment or for the amount they are asking for.. And SUE is a bi*** to you after you say no that your not able to pay..

Exactly correct!  In addition, it's illegal for a debt collector to threaten an action that it can't legally undertake or has no intention of undertaking.  Also, no one has a legal obligation to communicate with a debt collector.

Sue is a liar; ignore here.  Lowlife collectors cannot: issue warrants, send the sheriff, or garnish wages.  There are no "lawyers" upstairs or anywhere else - that's just a typical collector's tactic to induce panic in the victim.  Collectors are rarely lawyers and when they are, they're such lousy ones that they had to go into collections to make a living.  If they're asking for 816.00 (and the debt is actually legitimate, which it rarely is) you can be sure the original debt was probably 100.00 and they bought it from the original creditor for $1.50.  Inflating debts by factors of 100 or more is common practice in CollectorWorld.  Ignore Sue or, if you must talk to her, harass and insult her right back.  I've dealt with these collection jerks and they're not worth 2 seconds of anyone's time.

Sue called saying I owed on a past debit and I had better give her 816.83 on a credit card to settle. I told her I would check into it and call her back she said I had 30 minutes to return the call are the lawyers upstairs would be contacting me.

A kevin called me stating that they were already pursuing legal action, called deception by fraud for a payday loan I never got.  He also stated that my bank also verified for him that money was received.  
He stated that he worked with great lake asset management and that I needed to give him a credit card number in order to make a payment for something that I did not receive.  When I told me that my wallet was taken about a year ago, he said we've also verified where you live, where you work, your date of birth, and social security number and that I was lying to them and he did not believe a thing I was telling him.

Mr. Duke called for my fiancee stating that he needs to have his lawyer call him back.
