Yup! Called me too. Haven't a clue!

They called today and showed up on caller id as Toll Free Call. Did not leave a message.

You guys are all a bunch of cry babies!!! GET OVER IT!!! This company is trying to do something good, if you aren't interested then TRY picking up your phone and telling them that instead of staring at your caller ID wondering who it is...

You are not going to get any lawmaker or any government organization to support that law. The petition that got the National No Call list passed clearly stated that the law is for "sales calls only". The American public did not read the fine print and read the law as applying to every call out there. Also the Federal Government depends on Market Research firms for their research on a wide variety of topics. I work in the Market Reaserch industry and am disabled and cannot get SSD and have been trying for 10 years to get it. The first I hear of any one trying to do this I will fight tooth and nail to get it abolished and alot of my friends that are also disabled I know will do the same thing. We do not violate the law,we are just only trying to earn an honest living. If I do not work I do not pay taxes and will have to live on welfare which will cost everyone more money. People who work doing Market Research deserve a job and work hard for what we do and do not call just to say "I am calling to annoy you" like everyone seems to think. People who signed the National No Call list think it gives them a green light to curse us out,be mean,be rude and be nasty to us and that is not right. I am not rude to them nor does our research company allow us to be rude but yet the American people are and get away with it. They can do it and get away with it because they think the world revolves around them and are very selfish people. These are the people that cut in front of you in line,fart in public,don't stop for you at a crosswalk,and go into stores and try to get people only trying to do their jobs fired. I call to get a job done for my company and not to annoy people and I am not going to let this stupid law take everything away from me and will fight for my rights if anyone tries to take these jobs away from us. I do not feel it is going to happen though.

Also I forgot...write the BBB I just wrote them they need to have more complaints on them. Right now they seem to be rated as a good company. THey need to know what is really going on with them!!!

write this address consumer@ago.mo.gov there was a class action lawsuit against them for this and it says that any future violations should be reported and may result in contempt of court proceedings. I am upset with them as they went off and sent me several movies at once I did not order and refused to let me return them and are now harassing me for the money. (I did not order them and they won't let me send them back. I am sending them a little at a time though I do not think I should)

I actually answered the phone and answer the questions. they also asked me about sex and violence. I told them I did not believe in Censorship of any kind. I told them it leads to book burning and Dictatorship. She asked if someone else could caall back and discuss this further.I said "sure!"
Funny, I never heard from them again.

update on comment of july 19/07:

since my email to dove threatening to file complaints, i have not received any more phonecalls.  :)!

i've been getting these calls almost every other day for the past few weeks.  i've just emailed the dove foundation asking them to remove me from their call list and let them know that if i receive another phonecall, i will file official complaints with the Attorney General, FCC, Do Not Call Registry, and in Canada, the CRTC and Phonebusters.  (thanks to the folks who posted this info previously!  i've copied the info below.)

i urge everyone to contact the company and do the same.  each of our actions will add up and make a difference.  please take a moment to do this!  thanks!

Got the call yesterday.  Yes, they are infiltrating Canada now that the USA complainants are getting wise and reporting them.

We probably have to go through more loopholes to get our complaints resolved.

I just never answer questionable phone numbers.  And if it's important, they can leave a message, of which I will ignore as well.

Well I see they've reached Canada as well.  I live in Ontario and I just received a call - automated female voice looking for the lady of the house, insistent the second time in asking in fact.  My voice mail took the call.

I would certainly like to know where they obtained my phone number from.  This is also a legal issue due to current privacy laws, they are obligated to share that information with you.  Honestly though, who really does anything about it?

We have the option of reporting such issues to the CRTC (who in fact are lazy based on personal experience), the local phone service provider (who are even lazier than the CRTC) and the RCMP (who rarely respond - must be overburdened with all the slack they pickup from the CRTC and local phone service providers).

So, my neighbors to the south, you're not alone but may have made an impression on this organization for now they have begun soliciting up north. :)

These people keep calling my answering machine and leaving no message.  Would love to get off their mailing list just so I don't have to keep erasing blank messages from my machine or listening to the ringer.

I like movies with sex and violence.  No way I'm going to agree with their move to make *all* movies into Disney flicks.

Left no message. I don't answer any calls with out a name posted.  If they are hiding and affraid to post it, I'm affraid I won't answer.  Calls coming from unknown sources can't be good and are very annoying. Spam on my PC is bad enough. My number is also on the  "National Do Not Call" list.

These people are incredibly rude and call constantly. There's got to be something we can do about them.

Calls many times a day, has been going on for months. Shows up as 800 Service, and never leaves a message.

This number calls 2 or 3 times a day.  Everyday.  If no one answers they don't leave a message.  If you answer no matter how to the point you are that you are not interested or do not want calls to continue.  They still call.  I have an unlisted number for a reason.  I am not going to pay extra to block these rude people who Identify them selves as a non profit organization called Dove.

Hang-up...so far, they've only left one message.  Reading through the posts, however, I wonder if they hit different areas at different times and this is just the beginning.

i just called Dove's main number (616) 454-5021 and asked to speak with someone there to get my number off their call list. The person who answered the phone was Donna and she said she would put me on their internal do not call list after we hung up. She was very pleasant. We'll see if it works!

Annoying caller showing a toll free number.  Calls at all hours and does not leave messages

We have caller-ID but do not have answering machine.  We do not answer any call that is not familiar to us.  As of today, this number (Toll-free call, says the machine) has called 34 times.  By the way, there must be a software or telephone machine which would allow us to punch in numbers that we do not want to reply, so as soon as these undesired numbers call, the line would teminate itself.  Is there anything like that out there?

I, too, keep getting calls from this Dove Foundation. I file a complaint with the National Do Not Call registry every time I get one.  Maybe if everyone does this, the DNC registry will finally do something about them.

Is there any way we can start a grass roots movement to get the Do Not Call rules expanded to apply to everyone, including politicians, survey takers, and charities?  Any candidate who would support such a cause would certainly have my vote.

Keeps calling.  Calls very early in the morning.  I yell at them and hang up every time.
