Called telling me I owe them 3000.00 for a 5 year old credit card debt. Debt was originally $450.00, they bought the debt from the original creditor for pennies on the dollar after the debt was written off. They didn't tell me this I found out through other channels. They added insane fee's and interest. I did alot of homework on these people, Marshall and Ziolkowski, they are scam artists, DO NOT PAY THEM A DIME! Before doing anything, check on the statute of limitations for the debt they are trying to collect, chances are very good it's out of the statute for your states laws.
SUE THEM IMMEDIATELY, you have one year to do so. Send "cease and desist" letters via registered, certified and return requested mail.
Keep all letters you send, receive and and record all telephone calls.
When they call, let them identify themselves, then say "the date is (the date) then, "the time is" (the time).
Chances are they will hang up immediately because they know they are outside the law, they break the law at every turn, they are scam artists to the fullest extent of the law and then some.
I am surprised the federal government does not shut them down BUT YOU CAN hurt them somewhat by filing a lawsuit against them once they have harrassed you at work, at home or anywhere once you have sent them the cease and desist letter and got delivery confirmation. SUE THEM IMMEDIATELY and DO NOT settle for some small amount. I would suggest at least a $50,000.00 suit, the judge can always reduce it but it's worth a shot, they deserve to have their pockets lightened substantially.
If everyone who they harrass does this, eventually they will go out of business, they continue to survive because unknowing consumers pay the extortion they ask for, and their bank account grows.

Seriously you WILL WIN if you sue them and have all ducks in line. Make sure you read up and do it right, or hire a debt attorney to help you, but either way, DO IT!
