This is an automated collection call for a person who has never lived here.  They call several times a month, often early AM, and sometimes even on holidays.  I have no way of contacting them to get them to stop.

It has been calling my textfree number for the past 2 days.  What's a textfree number?  It is an app on the iPod touch for texting and voice.  It's not listed with any phone companies (that I know of) so how the hairy heck did a collection agency get it?

If you recognize the number when it shows up, try simply saying Hello, and see if someone responds.

I work on a switchboard for my company and this number has called at least 3 times today and hung up upon my greeting.  Annoying.

Calling usually does not do anything, but remember if you do owe the money and send them a cease and desist letter the next option they may take is taking you to court, I know from experience.

Every other Saturday, I get automated calls from this pre-recorded number, for a different person, and am requested to  call (800)694-8148 to request removal. I have requested the removal of three different individuals for my phone number, and I've had this number for a year.

Contact your phone company and complain, because asking them to remove your number only rolls over to the next name on their list that they will associate with your same number.

BTW- they usually call at 8:00 on Saturday morning. Registering with donotcall.gov has not helped.
