Got a phone call on July 3rd saying that they host a radio show in the MA/NH area and asked if I wanted to be the new host of a 1 hour program, On the Money Radio.  Told me to ask for Andrew Henderson.

I Guess he's back in So Cal (it's December).  Got a VM at my office last week to interview with him to host a Radio Show. The CB number was located in Riverside County. Only got his VM when called.

So looks like the "Cattle Call" is on.

Has anyone actually met with him Face to Face ?

I got a voice mail message today (11/16/09) from Andrew Henderson regarding being a host for On The Money, a financial radio show.  I believe he said he was the general manager.  His return number was 888-809-0257, x 105.  I'm a bankrutpcy attorney in the Chicago area.  Sounds like they're trying to make money when they sign you up for some sort of conference or training.  I did a web search on the radio show name and one hit I got was www.onthemoneyradio.org, with the name of Steve Pomerantz as the host, or something like that.

I won't be responding to Mr. Henderson's call.

I received similar call today. Left message with our email for them to send more info. They didn't say who from our company they were calling or the name of the local station it airs on. Andrew's message did say they were written up in a magazine recently. Anyone know what kind of scam this is?

Not so much a scam as a marketing campaign for those interested in self-promotion.

From their web site:

What are the financial arrangements of the show?
Each Host makes an investment to cover their share of the production costs involved with producing their show. These costs vary by market. We provide the support staff and training and support materials. To discuss how you can start hosting your own show, call our local producer Todd at (800) 700-6570 x3.

In other words, you commit to underwrite your own show for 13 weeks and try to establish a following in your market. I do not have any specifics yet on how one actually airs the show, e.g. does one have to buy time on local radio stations?

I got a call from Andrew Henderson saying he was the Executive Producer of "Doctors on Radio" and that "Mike Stat" had given him my name. He said his show was looking for "doctors" to host a local radio show called the "Doctor is in."   He said I would be on a conference call discussing the possibility of my hosting a one hour show including the topic of dentistry, which is odd since I am a psychiatrist.

I won't call back because it sounds like a scam.

The number to call back was  1-888-809-0257 x121

This is called vanity radio.  If you pay the money, you bought the hour and can do any reasonable show you like.  This is just a poorly organized shotgun approach to sell radio ads, with the only difference being these are 60 minute, not 60 second ads.
Unless your sixty minute show is on one of the top two talk radio stations in your immediate area, you'll be throwing away your money for your ego.
Ask for the demographics for the specific hour they are marketing to you, and whatever you do, make damn sure you get it in writing.

I received a message from Andrew Henderson at an 888-number and called it back and spoke to him about two weeks ago. The conversation was wierd and he was supposed to send me an email. I am also in the real estate and mortgage business for myself. His assistant Jennifer Stone just called me from 602-283-3200 and when you call it a Matt Patallion message comes on with "on the money show"... Jennifer asked me to call and speak to the producer Todd Relin at 800-700-6570 ext 3. What I dont get is like I asked Andrew Henderson, "why me?" there are other bigger realtors and mortgage people than me. I did not mind being on the show and answer his questions if he could answer mine. He just said because my name came across his desk. Now I am wondering what is the deal? Is it a show? Is it a scam and how.? Nobody has posted that he is aking for money, just a weird marketing/telemarketing team. Has anyone heard the show? just curious, but it sounds to confusing for me to take part in. So how do you get them to stop calling your cell?

I received a message from Andrew Henderson and the number that showed up on my cell was 602-283-3200.  He left a 1-888 number and extension to call him back with the similar searching for a radio show host to host a 1 hr/wk program regarding financial, real estate, etc.  I called both numbers back and left a message.  He called me back after a few days and told me to join one of several conference calls you can register for online.

Here is a copy of Andrew Henderson's E-mail

It was good to hear from you regarding the On the Money radio show.  I look forward to sharing with you the details about your potential for being one of our on-air hosts here in the Delaware Valley.  The On the Money show is a brand, with local talk shows on in cities across the country.  This new show will start in the next month or so and will offer you the opportunity to host your own radio show.

To give you the most information about what the show is about and what we are looking for in a host (while taking up less of your time than a traditional call), we have set up a few phone/web conferences over the next few days.  Each of these conferences can be easily accessed from your home or office provided you have a phone and internet access, and each conference will be an intimate event with approximately twelve potential hosts attending.  Each conference lasts 18-20 minutes and will address all of your questions.  After the conference, you will have the opportunity to have any questions answered and speak with the local producer.

Because we are only looking for about three local hosts, "seats" are limited at each of these conferences.  Please visit our website now to reserve your spot.  You only need to attend one conference to understand the concept, but we have scheduled several to make sure there's a conference that fits your schedule.

To register for the conference of your choice, go to http://www.onthemoneyhost.com and complete the one-minute registration process. When you're done, simply follow the instructions in the followup email.  If you have questions about the registration, email me.  If you have questions about the show, they will be answered at the conference.

I look forward to having you present on one of our conferences and sharing with you all the details about the world of talk radio.

I also got a voicemail asking me to participate in group radio call or host a radio show. I am a financial advisor and have colleagues that have radio shows and occasionally ask me to be a guest on their show, so the call from Andrew Henderson didn't surprise me.   after doing some research this, I do believe that this is a scam and am not going to participate.

got a vmail from andrew henderson today 7/13/09 1-888-8090257 ext 102, stated that he got my info from his staff & would like to discuss possibly hosting a show regarding finances/mortgages etc.. i am a former radio news anchor of a local station and seeking p/t broadcasting opportunities, i also work for a real estate firm, so thought this may or may not be a valid call.  it is probably a scam!

someone please let me know what you find out if you decide to pursue this or if andrew actually phones back. when i phoned him back, i could only leave a vmail as his announcement stated he was unavailable.

Called my business phone - I run a real estate company.  The Caller ID said 602 283-3200 and the caller was listed as "INAVAILABLE."  The message was from Andrew Henderson at Ext. 102, executive producer of On The Money, a Philadelphia radio show for which he is looking for 1-hour/wk. hosts.  He talked about the conference call, and made quite a point about wanting to send emails....

Called my work number after seeing my name in an article in the local business journal.  Same message from Andrew Henderson re: hosting a radio show.  I called back, got a voicemail, left my email, then got an email about attending a webinar re: the radio show. I may attend. If so, I'll post on what I find out.
