I just received a call from this number... when I picked up the phone, I was 'treated' to the middle of a recording about some comedy show on DirecTV.

When I get these calls I answer and immediately hit the # key sevral times and then hang up. This has stopped a lot of this type of calls.in fact it has stopped nearly all of them but a couple. Try it watta ya got to lose.

Left me a voicemail this time (has called many but my MB has been full for about 8 months, hehe).  Free movie offer.  Said the opt out number is 1-866-277-9814, so, plan on calling it to remove them, and if they keep calling after I add to the do no call list will be sure to let the FTC know about it (even though I added my number to the gov call list, since I use their services the gov call list will not work have top tell them to manually remove me).

called on sunday afternoon, annoying, and I am on the Do Not Call list

They call at least 6 times a day. We've NEVER answered and this has been going on for several months. I'm considering disconnecting my att service due to this annoyance. I really wish they would STOP. I placed the number on the national due not call list. Beleive me after the 30 days, if they keep calling it will be escalated.

what's most annoying is when they call there is no answer at all when we pick up, they need more staff for their high volume of calls.

Well, it must be directv, as we actually have the service - I just never answer the 800 numbers, so I never know who's calling...until now

I was given this number to call as a response to a free Bahamian cruise.  I didn't call it.

They just keep calling, 3 times in 1hr and 30 minutes, when answer no one is there.

If you call 1 866 277 9814 and enter your phone number from your Direct TV account, they will put you on their don not call list

Have had several calls from this number and I am on the no call list.  What does it take to get rid of these people.

I'm on the do not call also and these phone calls are annoying!

Just got a call from this number a few minutes ago, around 8:54PM EST, and an automated message came on, didn't listen to it though. We got lots of calls from this number before and one time we picked up and a real person was on the line and they wanted us to do something like putting in some numbers or something and we got free HBO or something for a month. Or was it a year? Was it even THIS number? I don't know.

get calls from them daily. it is from directv.  when i paid my bill last month i wrote on my bill please do not call my house calls r really a big pain in my azz.  and it didnt help so now what do i do HELP HELP

If you have Direct TV service, then DTV has the right to call you. Any company you have had business with withing the past two years can call you. Don't bother filing a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry because nothing will be done if this is the case.

Called at 7:28pm on 7-4-09.  Caller ID showed "not provided" and left no message on my answering machine.  Since my telephone is programmed to not ring for toll-free numbers, I didn't pick up.  Don't know if it's Direct TV or not.

Yep, it's DirecTV, and even though I subscribe to them, I've called and told them repeatedly to stop leaving messages on my phone. If I wish to order Pay Per View, I'll do it on my own, I don't need them to keep reminding me to order a movie, lol.

I am also on the DNC list and still receive phone calls from this company.  It sounds like it may be from Directv, but I am not sure of that.

Being on the Do No Call list does not apply to companies with which you do business.  You have to call Direct TV and tell them to take you off their call list.  I did it and they had no problem removing me.

What I don't understand is why they hang up when I answer!

I have been with DirecTV for over 9 years (8 w/out a contract) and love them. I am on the do not call list and don't know why they hang up. It is not an answering machine, it is ME.

Anyone get hung up on??

This is a call from DirecTV to offer a free movie, they also give you a number to get off their list.
